I ordered a product in-store, at the same time as purchasing other items and the employee said I'd receive a call or email in a couple weeks once the item had shipped. After a bit passed the time I hadn't heard anything so I stopped in to check in on it. To both of our surprise, and mistake, we saw and realized the order had a delivery date of the year 2027. I asked if it was real, or a typo, or something that could be addressed and fixed. Then he checked for it online, and the item and all its variations were gone, even the corresponding sku number was attached to a different item all of a sudden. He was unsure and was eager to help, get more information from the vendor. He notated my contact info, and said he would get back to me soon. Almost a week later, I was called and told the item was no longer available to Menards, and that I would need to be refunded for it. I said okay, but that I had just had foot surgery literally 2 days ago, and that I would be in for the refund as soon as medically allowed to be up and on my feet again. Since then, that Menards store has called me EIGHT times, leaving voicemails asking me to come in for the refund, it had only been a month. I let them know I had an appointment that week and would then know better when I could make it in. She was insistent I come in, to which I asked why it was so urgent I rush foot surgery recovery to come in for an error in your system. It was said to me that the paperwork was cluttering up the work area and needed to be cleared up. Are seriously expecting me to believe a big box company of your stature doesn't have filing cabinets or proper processes to keep paperwork in order? I went in yesterday to get the refund, however I was denied the refund of the money I paid because the card I used was no longer active- it had expired. Credit and debit cards all come with expiration dates that are enforced and are out of the cardholder's control. So, I was told that basically, my money is being held hostage and the refund was available as store credit only, regardless of the receipt in my hand or the base error being of your cause. This is wholly unacceptable and certainly feels not legal at all. I am prepared to provide the dates and times of the phone calls if necessary. Monica and Roland are the unhelpful and disrespectful managers of the south Lansing, Michigan store, #3158.

    First time at this location. We found it to be better staffed than the Novi location we go to…read more Customer service was pleasant and helpful. The Christmas area was tidy although not everything was correctly labeled on the shelves for the Christmas items. We were easily able to find a team member to ask questions to. There seems to be more of them at this location as well as more lanes open. All in all our shopping experience was a good one. I would definitely return to this location in the future

    I had not dealt with these folks in the past and they did not come with a recommendation, and they…read morewill not get one from my family. I called them because our dryer was not working. Tina answered, I explained that I wasn't sure what was wrong but that I thought it was because the vent or ducts were clogged. Before I could explain further, she abruptly cut me off and told me "they'd come take a look and take care of what was wrong." I, again, mentioned that I thought it was a clogged vent...she cut me off and asked to just arrange a service call. I did that. When the guy showed up at the house, my wife let him know we thought it was a clogged vent or duct. He looked it over and explained that they didn't do vent or duct cleaning. And left. And left a bill for $70. I got a few calls from them, trying to get the bill paid, I called back and talked to someone about what happened. I began to explain, but he, too, kept cutting me off. "I'm not saying you're wrong about what was said, but Tina has been doing this for more than 20 years and she knows we don't do duct work, we don't have the equipment." I mentioned that we then had the ducts cleaned and the machine still didn't work, didn't heat at all, and that the service tech didn't find that problem, just seemed to call it a day after finding out the vent and ducts were probably cleaned. But he did wisely advise, "Better get your ducts cleaned." Thanks a lot, dude. I attempted to explain, to the man on the phone in the office, that the only reason I called them was that I thought it was clogged vents or ducts...the guy at the office cut me off, again, "Listen, you need to realize that here in Michigan..." and went on to lecture me about clogged vents and ducts and was so incredibly patronizing I was fuming, but quiet. He told me he would "eat the coat of the service call." I politely thanked him and hung up, just glad to be done with these people. Maybe they can do great work, maybe not. But their customer service and the performance on site for us was awful. I wish I could rank in negative stars. It was humiliating to be treated that way and the way he talked down to me was astonishing. Lots of choices out there, folks, choose wisely.
