If you're thinking of using William's Fence company, I would think again! In fact run don't walk the other way. They'll promise to give you a quote right away and then string you along for days. Making excuses that they're too busy to get to you even though they commit to get you the quote the day they came by to see the job! No one follows up or responds to your voice messages!! Courtney who works in the office is very rude and dismissive. After driving over to the William's Fence company in Lynbrook to get answers since it's 5 days since I was promised the quote, Courtney is arguing with me and suggests I go to another fence company and then announces the "conversation is over"!! I've installed a massive fence around my property with them years ago and all I needed was a railing for 5 of my front steps and this job seemed to overwhelm them or wasn't important enough for them to do. Good price, good fence. Estimate was much better than other quotes and they did not try to upsell anything. Workers were efficient (rocky, uneven ground with a lot of tree roots) and installed about 150' of fencing and two gates in one day. Left my yard clean, much better looking and with far more privacy than we had. I would recommend them to any neighbor or family. read more

Had a fence installed last year. Heard about Williams Fence from a neighbor and also a coworker. They had many compliments about their work and loved their fence. Got a quote from Pete. Not much of a personality but I didn't care b/c I just wanted a fence, not a friend! The quote was reasonable; three other fence companies were around the same price. Was told it would take a month before they could start. About a month later, got a call that everything was ready and they could start. It took them FOUR DAYS to complete my job and it was awful. The workers they sent were nice, but not experienced. My husband came home 2x from work and was getting out a level and showing the workers how to place the fence. On the 4th day, I noticed on my ring camera that the fence was crooked by my back door. I called the office since no one was at the house. The guys putting in the fence did NOT listen to my husband the day before, who told them how it should be done. After speaking to the secretary, she put Pete on the phone. His response? "What do you want me to do about it"? Ummmm what? I said, "I want you to make it RIGHT!! I want this fence installed correctly and if it's not, you won't be receiving your final payment". Well, I was able to watch the RING and saw the workers on the phone. He must have called them to have them fix it. I still have problems with the fence a year later. Posts are twisting, the latches don't work, etc. I would NEVER recommend this company. The fence itself is nice but Pete is a JERK who doesn't stand behind his company at all. Pete the owner showed up for an estimate. He showed no emotions and did not voluntarily provide any useful information about the fencing we were interested in. It took long to get an estimate with no breakdown of costs. He didn't even measure for the amount of fencing that we needed. I would never do business with this company. We used Amendola's fence who measured and presented samples, gave a detailed written estimate immediately, obtained a permit for us and was much cheaper. read more

Last week Peter from Williams Fence came to our house to take measurement and gave us the quote. He was puncture. So, despite of the higher end of the price point (we also gotten quotes from someone else) we decided to use his service. We were given an appointment time for 8 am (not between any hours, but 8 am), and since he came in on time previously we thought great! The day came, we changed our day off and woke up early, to no one. We called and no one answered the phone. At 830 am they called back and we were told the installation crew made a mistake and we are now the second appointment. We were told they will be here at 1130. 1130 came and guess what? No one, we called again and were told the crew is going to have lunch first. We called numerous times to see if we can at least get a discount from all this hassle, they won't answer our calls. When the crew made the phone call, the lady on the phone picked up on the first ring. So she's screening our calls. Nope, they won't cut us a break and blatantly said they don't care if we never use their service again. The fence looks nice, but the customer service is horrendous and unprofessional at best! Do yourselves a favor and stay away from these jokers and take your businesses somewhere where they respect your time. read more

Great company to get a quote from. They even showed up and did the job when they said they would in the summer of 2020. But there were mistakes made and shortcuts taken. We reached out to them that summer and they never came back. We started reaching out again in the summer of 2021 and the owner said he would come the next day to look. He came within a few days and said he would send his guys to fix it but then completely disappeared and stopped answering texts. I usually don't pay attention to negative reviews online thinking that more people are inclined to say negative things than happy people posting positive feedback. But this was completely my fault. BEWARE! Terrible company can't understand how they have been in business for as long as they have. They did work on my neighbor's house replacing there fence. In the process they took all of the dirt from my neighbor's property and dumped it over my garden walkway. First of all they should have never even been on my property let alone dump there dirt from my neighbor's in my yard. When i said something to the workers they acted like they didn't understand me. They probably were illegal workers but i can't be sure but I'd bet money on it. They did not want to fix or remove the dirt. They litteraly put 3 inches of dirt packed on top of my rocks in my walkway. I forced the workers to try to fix what they did and take the dirt away that they illegally dumped in my yard. They made a half assed attempt and just left. I called the office left a bunch of messages and got no call back at all. The coward owner would not call me back or respond to my requests to speak to him. My mother finally got him on the phone and he said he had come here and it was fine. He never saw what it looked like how is it fine? They ruined my entire walkway. My mother insisted they come again and make it right.They agreed to send people again. The first day they didn't show up. When they finally did they sent 1 guy without any tools who barely spoke english. They acted like i was wrong for them ruining my property. I didn't even hire these people they were not working on my home. In the end they never came back and did not fix what they did. My neighbor was nice enough to offer me money out of there own pocket to fix what williams fence did to my house but i wouldn't take it. The company should have fixed it. Williams fence even tried to charge my neighbor for his dirt removal even after all of this. I spoke to a lawyer who said it wouldn't be worth pursuing so the best i can do now is let others know how they conduct there business. Please don't hire williams fence the owner is not a good person and they have terrible business and work ethics. Keep your relationships with your neighbors and use a company that operates in a professional legal manner. read more

Do not use company! had fence put in and holes to filled with concrete nor filled in around posts. Fence is 6 inches off ground too so pets can escape. advised owner who said posts would be filled but that never happened. have texted several times no response. owner needs to understand how to properly run business and be responsible for work read more

The date of installation they showed up with the wrong size fence. I had waited about a month for the installation and took the day off of work. The workmen told me the owner would call me when they got back to the office with the wrong fence. The owner did not call me so I followed up. I got a call back and was told they would call me to reschedule installation- they did not. I called a few days later again and left a message- I never got a call back. Although we decided not to install a fence at this time, Pete was very professional and knowledgeable. Had them come for an estimate on March 3rd and was able to get the fence installed on March 11th - very quick and professional! We got quotes from 3 companies in the area and Williams was missle of the pack. We got the "Venus Straight" picket fence with a gate on each side to close off our backyard for our dogs and it looks great! The guys who installed were neat, efficient, and professional. I am local so i wanted to support local business, After installation we noticed a piece that was twisting and asked for replacement. He said will send guy over never happened. 2 months later the driveway gate cracked and wouldn't lock shut without slamming it. A Went to once a week for a month for a reply. No response. After threatening legal action guy showed up and said it will be replaced. That was 2 months ago. STAY AWAY from this company. have twins and was going to put up a fence to keep them safe. williams was supposed to get a permit but never did. the crew (who are the ONLY positive part of this company) started installing it. the town came and stopped the work because there was no permit and it was not being installed according to village code. the guy has done a lot of work in this town but claims he did not know about this code. ultimately we had to remove the fence so i attempted to compromise with him and take half the blame and asked for half the deposit back. he said no, furthermore i asked him if he was unwilling to do that could i come back to him in a year to finish the job and use the deposit toward the installation then and he said no. Bad customer service. This company install 2gates and a few pvc fences. On my property. In 8-9 months the gates needed repair. The small gate. They did not put the post deep enough into the ground. VERY disappointed! Installed only 6 months ago. After the first snowstorm of the season the latch on the gate came loose and does not stay closed. The quality on the hardware is inadequate! The WORST part is after contacting Williams to have it fixed/replaced/looked at I have gotten the runaround for almost a month. First the office said that someone came out and repaired it, which they did not. In the same breath they gave a cornucopia of reasons why they can't take care of it (weather/cold/no trucks available). I am still waiting for a call back from someone other than the receptionist. Was told Peter Willams was out sick. I would think that replacing the latch is a relatively easy job that would require only a small hand held tool (no truck, crew, major undertaking required). read more
