We've had plenty of appointments for my 90 year-old mother over the last few months and he has done everything he possibly could to get her out of pain with success that would last a couple months or two. Finally, he recommended something called a spinal stimulator to minimize her pain that she's had for at least 40 years. Each staff member is so well trained in their various areas and know their craft well. Excellent training!!! They show respect and patience, especially for the elderly and when the staff is that well trained, you know it comes from the top. I highly recommend this Office for pain management and compassion. Dr Arfai has a great bedside manner and happens to be pleasant on the eyes also! You're in good hands there!

But the reception manager Shelley's actions are unacceptable. After switching providers in Bakersfield, my new doctor faxed a records request five weeks ago--I saw the fax confirmation. Shelley ignored it, lied in an email to me claiming she never got it, and even after I emailed her last week demanding she notify my doctor by the next day, she didn't call (I even gave her the information). My new doctor confirmed yesterday they've received anything. When I left a message and confronted Shelley, I demanded to speak to Dr. Etehad. He claimed he didn't get the request, clearly protecting her despite the fax proof AND EMAIL with my new doctors information excusing her delay that's stalling my care. My new doctor's office is confused why only Shelley handles records releases. Shelley's done this before. For my annual mammogram with prescribed ultrasound, she told radiology only one breast was approved, forcing me to choose--shocking their manager. When I needed my file for housing paperwork, she refused, then made me wait 15 minutes while she dawdled. For over a decade, I've endured Shelley's rude, condescending attitude toward me and others. Dr. Etehad seems aware but won't fire her. Shelley's lies and HIPAA violations risk patient health. I'm reporting to the California Medical Board. Avoid this practice until she's gone!

When something doesn't make sense, Dr Levyim just can't let it go. Twice, Dr. Levyim referred us to other specialists who gave our child a clean bill of health and twice Dr. Levyim told us "something just isn't right." On the third try Dr. Levyim referred us to a specialist who found an easily corrected fatal birth defect in less than 10 minutes. Why, because this 100% lethal birth defect is this doctor's specialty. So while we owe our daughter's life to the specialist, we owe our daughter's life a 100 times more to Dr. Levyim... because, if it wasn't for her, we would have convinced ourselves all the other doctors were right and we were being paranoid. Booking appointments, prescriptions, referrals are always a smooth easy process. Most of their communication is done by email, which I love and prefer.
