He was so very patient with me as I shared issues about my med history I wanted him to be aware of. Dr Samec is experienced, thoughtful and caring. Working closely with Dr Samec is PA Laurie Hughell. Finally when someone from the office did call us she was very rude and we were told that he would need to find a new doctor since Dr. Defransisco doesn't do rounds at the hospital that we are at! Period! No referrals..nothing! He is a disgrace to his practice! It sure would've been nice to know this information much earlier. What a terrible experience! I warn anyone that is considering putting your life in his hands...he just might turn his back on you when you need him most. We will be filing a report with the Iowa Methodist Administration!

He was fine, and we went back it to get the one he missed, but this seems like serious negligence. Should have learned, I thought it was a fluke, but a few years later they gave my daughter a prescription for antibiotics that was stronger than an adult dose because they accidentally doubled it. We are now changing offices because we no longer trust the staff.

Dr petts and her team are always willing to listen to concerns and explain everything in great detail. They are usually pretty much on time for appointments-which is a huge plus. North Polk Family Medicine exceeded my expectations and made me feel comfortable; Dr. Layton's calm, reassuring personality immediately put me at ease. The staff was very friendly and professional, both on the phone and in-person. It's been years since I have sought medical care in a traditional medical clinic, as I usually just get care at the free clinic where I volunteer.
