Dr. Steven Fayer is a wonderful resource. He's at least as knowledgeable and professional as any…read morepsychiatrist I've ever encountered or sought treatment from. Among my favorite of his qualities is his ability to be direct and frank with his patients. He demands honesty and trust, which are two of the cardinal tenets of psychotherapy. It won't work otherwise. I always have and will feel completely comfortable speaking with Dr. Fayer and I highly value his approach, his methods, and his advice. He is very attentive and frequently checks in with patients. I also feel strongly that Dr. Fayer is the ideal choice for struggling patients who need to determine what medication(s) are best for treatment and laying the foundations for establishing a healthy lifestyle, balanced mood, and high self esteem. Dr. Fayer will help you tremendously, but you have to do the work yourself, which he'll masterfully guide you through. He genuinely cares very much about his patients' welfare, feelings, success, and the integrity of his craft. He's very warm and approachable, unlike many shrinks out there, and i always feel encouraged rather than intimidated to share something with him thats difficult. The office is in an elite and beautiful neighborhood on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, and provides a calm, modern, fastidiously clean, welcoming waiting area. Sessions take place in his large, well appointed office with an abundance of comfortable seating, lots of natural light, and a beautiful private garden (which is accessible by patients). The entire experience is great, and above all, Dr. Fayer is a pleasure to work with.

I would recommend anyone that is looking for a psychiatrist or just someone to talk to, to call Dr.Fayer.

It's not just that she actually listens , but she gets involved and her empathy glued from her. It creates a boundary of warmth and caring and compassion. It's like an emotional shield protecting me. It gave me the power to discuss and bring up such difficult issues that would have taken months to touch. It doesn't try to be a country home, nor does it feel clinical (like a doctor's office would). Ms. Vanden Bos is not only a good listener, but she gives very reasonable, unbiased advice and practical feedback. She isn't just there to listen and be a sounding board, she asks thoughtful questions and gets to the heart of issues--and helps you determine next steps in solving or resolving them. My first meeting was a 10 out of 10, and I most highly recommend Stephanie Vanden Bos as someone to meet with and talk to about just about anything.

From the very first visit, he took my concerns seriously--even when I wasn't sure they were valid myself. He listened carefully, examined me thoroughly, and clearly cared about finding the root cause. He ordered the appropriate tests, explained everything in a way I could understand, and reassured me that we would figure things out together. Because he works with NYU Langone, I was able to get imaging scheduled very quickly. At every follow-up, he was thoughtful, thorough, and proactive, even personally helping me get an urgent neurosurgeon referral when it was necessary. Thanks to Dr. Rosenthal's diligence and compassion, I had a successful surgery and have been given a new lease on life. I truly believe that if it weren't for him taking my case seriously, I could be in a much worse situation. I feel incredibly grateful to have him as my neurologist and highly recommend him. Office Feedback: The wait time is usually 0-5 mins which is super rare for a lot of doctor's offices. They are also very responsive to voicemails and always call back if unavailable. I also enjoy the artwork on the walls.
