My kid and a lot of my money go to this school. It's been a good ride so far with most of the typical errors and omissions expected from a college institution.

The professors, both tenured and adjuncts, at the university care about sharing their knowledge with students while encouraging class discussions. If a student needs extra help, professors go out of their way to be helpful and the tutoring center is a great resource. I found the student body to be welcoming, friendly, and passionate about learning. There are a number of student organizations on campus and activities to participate in. For example, I co-hosted a radio program on campus. There are also interesting lectures that take place on campus. I highly recommend enrolling at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

For those unfamiliar with Mr. Paul, he was a master guitarist of many genres. In addition, Mr. Paul was one of the pioneers of the solid-body electric guitar, and his prototype, called the Log, served as inspiration for the Gibson Les Paul. Mr. Paul is the only inductee in both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the National Inventors Hall of Fame. (Talk about accomplishments!) Three groups: "The Ed Loeb Quartet", "Tom and Sandy Doyle" and "D n A" performed in Mr. Paul's honor. (Tom Doyle had worked alongside Les Paul). The afternoon had two intermissions. Outside the auditorium, water, cheese, crackers, and other finger foods were supplied by a local ShopRite. During the second intermission, everyone had a slice of Les Paul's birthday cake. The event was extra special to me. I had the pleasure of seeing Les Paul perform at the old and new Iridium Room (NYC) on several occasions. "Note to event organizers": Navigating the college was very confusing. On top of it, the young woman at the security booth gave us "terrible directions". In addition, she didn't make any mention of a shuttle. Luckily, I did google a map of the college campus. Many of the program attendees were of an "older generation", which may not have been to tech savvy. In addition, the attendees may not have been able to walk up the college campus hills. We walked about 90% of the way and a car drove us to the event. After the show, we started walking back and a public safety car drove us back to the parking lot.

They said "yes" but intentionally omitted that they are NOT CODA-accredited (and haven't been for 5 years). We were led to believe I'd be a CDA upon graduation. Instead, I found out mid-program that I have to work 3,200 hours first--a possible 2-year delay (unless you're doctor feels you're really talented and signs off early)that was never mentioned upfront. The school suggests working during the program to get those hours, but as a day student, most employers won't hire you due to the schedule. It's an impossible cycle. When I reached out for help, the Dean simply piggybacked off my conversation with the head of the department instead of offering a real solution, and the President has yet to respond at all. They try to sweep it under the rug by claiming New Jersey employers "only care about Radiology licenses," which ignores my long-term career growth. Beyond the accreditation, the education is suffering: * Overcrowded Classes: Classes are being merged, leaving teachers overwhelmed. * Lack of Hands-on Training: Labs are rushed and rare. You're expected to learn something once and then not touch it again until your internship. It's all lectures and quizzes. * The "Referral" Insult: They have the audacity to ask for referrals in exchange for two slices of pizza every few weeks while ignoring serious grievances from students paying full tuition. For the price they charge, Fortis needs to do much better. Do your research and ask for specific accreditation names before signing anything here. After the President commented on my review, I reached out as of yet I still have not received a phone call.

The curriculum was structured perfectly to prepare me for the next step. What truly sets this college apart is the dedicated and accessible faculty. They genuinely care about student learning and success. They went above and beyond to provide individual attention that you just don't get at a large university. Lots of fun memories on & off campus! My sister goes to Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) and their parking is 100000X better than Union! There are lots so far away that students have to walk so far just to get to the campus and even then, the faculty gets the closest parking - which takes up most of the first 3 lots because God forbid they have to walk more than 5 feet away from the school. And in the snow/rain, it's horrible the way they expect students to want to go to this school with terrible parking lots, walk 20 feet just to get to the campus, and go to class. At that rate, you should take online courses or better yet, go to RVCC! RV is 1000X better and if it wasn't for my program being American Language and Deaf Studies, I would have gone there! Their parking lots alone are reason enough for people to want to go there! If that doesn't get you ready to go, go to Raritan because you do NOT have to PAY for a parking ticket! They have separate dividers for the faculty and staff through a parking ticket, but for students, it's free!! The silent study rooms. I had time between my classes to go there and it was good, except for when people are TALKING IN A SILENT STUDY ROOM! It is silent! I don't know if these students can't read the sign on the door because almost everyone was talking during a certain time - around 12-4. It is a silent study room! There is no group work! No whispering! No talking! And no videos! It is not rocket science or brain surgery! Do NOT do it!! And, on top of that, they would have construction going on again near the silent study room for who knows what, so because of that noise, many people didn't bother to obey the rules of the room, so more people started to talk. That room was also put right next to a different room where students could go for leisure time or group study, so every once in a while, I would hear loud laughter and even some banging on the wall as the students on the other side were arguing over some answers for their homework. What kind of "genius" puts a silent study room right next to a room where students can have group study?! I was constantly telling people to "please go outside" or "please, no group study" because it was a SILENT STUDY ROOM! They need to have someone there ensuring that students who go in do NOT TALK! I would be studying for tests/quizzes/homework/exams, and so many students would be talking and having a group study together! I HATED that college! If Raritan Valley had my program as a Major, I would have been thrilled to have gone to that college, but Union had it, so I was forced to choose that one. Union College was absolutely awful! Terrible parking, horrible design, unbelievable slow learning with basic topics I learned in middle/high school, and very lazy security who are too busy on their phones or sitting at the desk, watching YouTube videos or playing Solitaire. If they have your program at Raritan Valley Community College, go there! It is so much better, my sister is always telling me good things about the staff that help her out, and the parking alone is definitely worth it!

On a scale of 0 to 5…read more Food: 0.5 I think they have every intention of making sure you become diabetic. Its nothing but deep fried highly sugared food. I've eaten it sparingly, and when Ive pointed out the low quality in conversation with my friends, id get the staff giving me dirty looks Student Life/Community: 0.25 People there implicitly pray to see you fall. Almost every conversation with students or advisors alike feels like an interrogation. If you do well, it incites immense jealousy from your peers. If you dont do well, you're seen as a loser. Additionally, there are some who work there who seem to believe you owe them your soul. An incredible notion from people who's income comes directly from civialian taxes. If you find yourself at this school, stay away from the community, dont make friends, heck, take night classes because the people running the school(whom you'll bump into during the day) are nepo babies disguising themselves as being disenfranchised. The insecurities and elitism that run rampant among the memebers of the school community is no accident. Its the by design and is facilitated by the advisory staff. Ive only ever met one helpful advisor in the entire time that Id been there. Thankfully, im a fully grown adult who can spot bullshit when i see it. I just feel bad for the you coming into this trash heap. Especially the ones who may be struggling. Oh, and dont get me started on Bursars. They tried to put me on student loans by default because I didnt hit the reject key in the student portal. Also, they tried to preditorially charge me for a semster 6 months before it even began! Amazing! Professors/Classes: 4 One of the saving graces of this school. In fact, if you need a friend or someone to motivate you, I'd recommend you stick close to the professors. They actually give a sh**. They dont condescend, and yes, their classes are tough ash(especially if you're in stem). Just a quick disclaimer, they're not your life coach. However, if you have a genuine intellectual curiosity for say: chemistry, or math, then they are 1000% there to answer your questions. I retook almost all my chemistry courses and the class was not easy, but the professor was super cool. Like, I sucked in the beginning, and then I got good. Thats the kind of thing that professors respect. The maths could use some improvment... for example, there is a high polarity in terms of the difficulty of the higher math classes between profs. Ex: one's calc class is waaaaay tougher than the other. I always went for the toughest. Yes, Im a glutton for punishment lol. I say they should all be equally difficult. Extrcurriculars: 0.25 This kind of piggy backs on the community metric. In my last point, I mentioned that bit about getting good. Guess what, that concept goes to sh** with these people. The nepo babies running these gigs will go on and on about having a growth mindet while practicing a fixed mindest. Make no mistake, THIS SCHOOL IS ALL ABOUT DETERMINISM. Ive been to many of the social gatherings and extra activity. They put you through these nonsensicle exercises and then tell you that if you're struggling its because you're not trying or whatever, or because you suck(a bit of generalisation ill admit). Its bs peptalk from grifters who studied useless sh** like 'gender studies'. Every extracurricular felt more like some kind of indoctrination instead of skill building. People constantly talk over each other, especially when there are disagreements. Job Opportunity: 1/5 Again, none of these advisors are partcularly helpful. The only job opportunities I've found were through networking with friends and such. Basically, what ive always done. So, if you get some small weasly advisor trying to fear monger you about your future, it probably has a lot more to do with them being an academic their entire lives and being too much of a pu**y to move into the private sector. No advisor has ever been helpful in this area. Frankly, i dont think any advisor ever will be. Its something you have to hustle for. Safety: 4.5/5 In a neighborhood with high crimerates, it makes sense that safety protocols have such a robust infrastructure. Kudos to the state on this. I know the state had their hand in this and not the staff at the school.. the quality of safety is just too good. Score: 2.05 out of 5 Conclusion I've said a lot. I dont go around reviewing sh**. This school really has come a long way and still has a ways to go. Maybe in century it'll have effectively improved these errors. The educational quality isnt bad, but everything else sure as sh** is. Do your research, get the class schedule for your degree, make sure you know EXACTLY what you need. Do not open yourself to anyone here. They will exploit any and all of your vulnerabilities. I may have appeard younger to some, but my adulthood showed in my maturity. In other words, I knew how to tell people to f**k off. Learn that skill, because theyll suck you dry if they can.

Seton Hall charges $50,000 a year. Rutgers is ranked 41 and Rutgers only charges $33,000 a year. Rutgers is a by far better school than Seton Hall and it is much cheaper. Most of the professors at Seton Hall teach directly from a text book and then test you on what you read in the text book. It is that bad. None of the professors taught us any software programs that we would need to know for our majors and for employment upon graduation. A lot of the professors who teach at the school are very old and I have serious doubts whether they even know how to use a computer. You will not be learning any cutting edge technology at Seton Hall. They have no jobs for you upon graduation. You are completely on your own to find your own employment when you graduate. The school has a Career Center, but it is worthless. It is staffed by 18 year old students who have never had a career, which means they have no connections to help you get a job and they have no advice to give you because they are 18 years old and never had a career. The jobs they have posted in the Career Center are mainly entry-level jobs that pay very low wages. You can find better jobs on Careerbuilder. The school has no inside track or connections to help students get jobs and none of the Professors I had knew anyone to help students get a job. I think if the Professors knew anyone, they probably would not be teaching at Seton Hall. The school is surrounded by very bad areas with a lot of crime around the campus. That crime spills over onto the campus and into South Orange where Seton Hall is located. Students get attacked on and off campus. I believe the school tries to suppress the actual crime stats in order to make the school seem much safer than the reality of the situation. When I was attending Seton Hall, there was student that was shot at in her vehicle by someone trying to car jack her on campus and that incident never made it into the crime stats for the campus. She supposedly went to the Dean and told him about it. And my last point may sound trivial, but I think it does matter. Most of the students at this school are from New Jersey and they have very heavy New Jersey accents. They sound like they are characters on the Sopranos. I cannot imagine that heavy New Jersey accent comes across well to employers when interviewing for a job. It is very likely your children will pick up a New Jersey accent if they attend Seton Hall and they are not from New Jersey.
