Appalled at what I experienced! If this was any indication of how this practice is ran I feel for the people of Azle, Texas. Avoid this place especially if you are a Christian. This IS NOT a Godly place to be in. From the very start I should have known better and walked right out the front door. This office has the WORST customer service I have ever experienced in my life. And I do not make that statement lightly. When I was greeted for my first visit it was almost like I was bothering the front desk. As a new patient that was bringing a family of 5 to the practice I would have expected to be treated decent. This was not the case. I told the front desk that I had Tricare insurance but since I was medically retired from Active Duty that I thought I had medicare too. Immediately the response was "if you have medicare we can't see you." And it was said rudely. What... is medicare for the lower-class? That's how I was made to feel. Yet, I brushed that off and let it go. When I sat down to wait one of the receptionists kept saying "Oh God!" and "Oh Jesus!" Like it was a verb. In all sincerity she seemed to end every sentence with one of those blasphemous sayings. As I say there It was said so much that I was about to leave. However they called my name so I figured I'd still give them a try as I always try to give businesses a fair chance. For the record, I was a new patient with a history of medical issues (my medical records are 4-inches thick). My initial consultation lasted (and I kid you not) about 4-minutes with the PA Matt (which is the only thing positive about this practice, he was nice yet.) It was just a couple questions and bam, had my prescriptions and was sent out the door. What made me write this review was what happened today. I called the office because I found out I can get my prescriptions filled for free on the military base (who wouldn't want to save $300)? When the receptionist Jennifer answered, I asked if I could get my prescription hand written which was previously faxed to the local pharmacy. Instead of a helpful welcome. I was questioned and insulted by her. She said, "why didn't you just tell the doctor you needed them hand written in the first place?" "Well your stuck because once we call them in its out of our hands." I was taken back by this. When does a secretary feel it's okay to question a patient? What I've learned is that some people have Customer Service. And others just have Customer "Pay Check". For surely they are not concerned with customer service. Just getting your money and sending you on your way. By the way I went into the office to pick up my prescriptions and Dr. Chambers showed zero interest in what I had experienced. He handed me the scripts and said "this is your last visit." He never asked what had occurred. This is a staggering warning sign when a doctor does not care enough to find out the facts. In my opinion, he doesn't care about his patients and this is obvious. I asked him if he realized how his staff is. His only remarks "We do just fine." Well then, glad I don't have a life-threatening medical issue. Who knows how I'd be treated. No thank you. I'll drive a little further and give my business to someone that actually cares for their patients. I've always been on the fence about leaving negative reviews. However, a man I highly respect once said "if you don't make it known, someone else may have to encounter what you did." And he's right, I hope that this practice one day realizes that it's about the bed side manner you provide to your patients. Not how quickly you can rush them through and file an insurance claim on them. Dr. Chambers, and Matt are by far the most amazing, caring Doctors!! I moved to Springtown as a teen and never found a GP I loved. Working in all clinical areas of the medical field. I am extremely picky about my family's health care providers. We looked for 10+ years for a GP. After trying every doctor in the area I gave him a chance. I was instantly impressed with how thorough he was. We've been seeing him for almost 10 years and not once have he not listened to me. He has caught things multi doctor's overlooked. Dr. Chambers has been my primary care physician for four years. He has helped me with everything from minor sinus infections to a major back injury. He is knowledgeable, caring, and is right on with diagnosis and treatment. I am always able to get in when I have an issue and I don't have to sit in the waiting room too long. Doesn't do refills unless you come in. Who can afford appointment fees PLUS the cost of prescriptions, when seeking a refill?! Dr. Chambers has been our family's primary care doctor for years and we have always been pleased with his care. He went above and beyond for us in 2019. I did a preventative health screening test on my own and took the results to him for his review. He had some concerns and ordered some additional testing. After each test I was contacted by his office within 24 hours and given the results and the game plan for next steps. When the results came back as cancer Dr. Chambers was able to get me in that same day for my initial consult with a specialist. Within 2 weeks of my diagnosis I was in surgery and am now cancer free. He and his staff made a very scary situation much less stressful by giving us prompt responses and updates. We were treated with genuine care and concern and we can never say thank you enough. The receptionist runs this practice. She has a vetting script of personal questions that violated the HEPA privacy policy. When I answered that I would be more comfortable discussing this with the medical staff, She said: "these questions are answered if you want to be seen here, everyone gets the same SPIEL". WARNING! Doctor Chambers, in my opinion, is outright sadistic. He violated my doctor/ patient confidentiality by telling my abusive husband that I had confided in him that abuse was occurring. He said things that both to me snd my husband that were absolutely inappropriate. He has been our family primary care physician for many, many years. Over that time I have personally seen several instances of women leaving his office in tears with stunned looks on their faces. I had always just hoped and figured that it must have been just them. Now I believe they might have also been victims. I wish I had followed my gut and established care with another doctor. Doctor Kevorkian would be preferable to doctor Chambers. I'm not sure what is going on with Dr. Chambers office but the last two visits I have had to wait for almost an hour after my appointment time to just be called to the back. If this is going to be the norm it will be time to find a new family doctor. I thought that is why we call and get appointments so everyone is on a schedule. Why not just walk in if we have to wait this long. Dr. Chambers office was not like this when it was just him but ever since he became Ill it's like that get paid by the number of patients that come through the door (in truth they do) but it's like let's over book and they will just have to wait. Well if I'm not the only one that feels like this and going to bet I am not the only one tired of the long wait and we go somewhere else then what. As most of the reviews say - I am another unhappy patient. Just trying to make an appointment had me dealing with the rude staff. I am not a millionaire but well off and they treated me as if I were a street bum. The appointment was quick and cold. I got a misdiagnosis that was discovered when the medication I was prescribed did nothing. I saw a different doctor and got a proper diagnosis and the prescription had me right in no time! Looking back just makes me angry. I'd like to say that the other reviewer was wrong to think the doctor doesn't care. He is the one that directs this whole "holier than thou" mess. read more

I am willing to bet money the 5 star review (done twice) is fake. I have NOW heard many other local people express the same negative opinion and reflect the same bad experience that I had to say it is fake. I had a similar experience as "Pastor Steve" rating the doctors office. I was greeted by rude staff. They remained rude for the whole visit. One of my children had a simple rash. The doctor was very quick and gave what we later found was a misdiagnosis. We discovered exactly what his skin ailment really was a week later from another doctor, received treatment, and cure. The whole visit was with rude people who make it VERY CLEAR you are not a concern of theirs and that they actually don't want you there. You are interrupting their conversations by being there. I actually don't care that much about "bedside manner" however I do expect to either get a proper diagnosis or sent for more testing. Why a man that spent his time to go through medical school would not only allow his staff to treat patients this way but actually join in - this just tells me that he is not interested in actually being a doctor. First i wanted to start by saying that Dr. Chambers is THE BEST Doctor I have ever had! He cares very much about his patients. I know this because he has been my doctor for over 10 years. About 5 years ago i was involved in a really bad car accident and at the time had no insurance. Dr. Chambers knew i was a single mom just trying to make it to my next paycheck. He made it a point to give me the samples when possible or the least expensive scripts. That may not sound like a big deal to most people, but it was huge to me!! People like Pastor Steve D. makes me so mad! so the rest of this will be to clear up what he had to say about Dr. Chambers and his office. I will do this as nicely as possible because i myself am a Christian. First of all... Pastor Steve D. I commend you for the service you gave to our Country! For that I Thank You! I know it is not my job to judge people, that is Gods job. But Pastor Steve D. I happen to know for a FACT that Dr. Chambers is a very Godly Christian man. Did you know he met his wife at church when he was 13 and she was 12? They are members of a local church in Azle. His office is very family oriented. They have a place for toddlers to play and a TV for people waiting to see him & Matt his PA. As far as the front desk goes, I'm sure when you said you have Medicare their response was they don't except medicare, not they can't see you. I'm sorry if you felt "Lower Class" but I know that they have never made me feel that way. They don't give special treatment to anyone whether they are a family of 5 or a family of 2! Everyone is treated with the same RESPECT!!! In the 10+ years I have been a patient of Dr. Chambers I have never heard anyone take the Lords name in vein or make blasphemous comments. As for Matt the PA only spending 4 minutes with you...I find that very hard to believe! First of all they look over your records before they even go into the room. They are there for the problems you currently have and not for the problems for have had over the course of your life. Not saying that isn't important, but not relevant to your visit on that day. So Pastor Steve D, I am curious why you have a problem with Dr. Chambers at all? You didn't see him for your appointment that day, you seen Matt his PA. You have complained about everyone BUT Dr. Chambers. What you don't realize is Dr. Chambers is the one that reaps the consequences of what you have said. And he DOES NOT deserve that! Also they can't let someone walk out of the office with a script and turn around and call one in. They are Law abiding people Dr. Chambers could lose his Medical License for doing that. It sounds like you want preferential treatment for some reason and because you didn't get it you slander Dr, Chambers. I moved to Azle a few years ago from N Richland Hills. After retiring from the military I consider myself blessed to have the benefits I have. I.E. Tri Care and or the VA. I have friends that simply can not afford the health insurance that the big box employer offers them. Having said this I needed a new PCP. Not knowing alot of folks in the area I simply going on word of mouth. Never Once heard a negative opinion about any PCP ' S in the Azle area. With That Said Dr Chambers was who I went with based on word of mouth. Fair enough. Previously I had pointed out a tiny little dry spot on my face. Approximately the size of the head of a pen. My doctor dismissed it as a "sun spot". Dr Chambers was not comfortable with that doctors opinion. Thank God. Within 72 hrs I was seen by a very well respected dermatologist in ft.worth. Turned out to be one of the worst organ eater melanoma.Dr Ducci removed it along with a big portion of my cheek. Dr Ducci used his skills as was able to stich it up leaving a small scare. He went on to say that it established a root sytem. Had Dr Chambers disregarded it I would not probably be here. That was the first time I felt compelled to write a review and was informed about YELP. I have posted twice this makes 3. Out of curiosity I looked to see if my first or second post even made it. As s I saw they did. I'm not completely sure but it the gentleman is implying it was my 5 stars were fake. Simply not the case. I never post or read post. Because they are simply one persons opinion. But i did feel like Dr Chambers, PA Matt as well as his staff deserved a 5 star review from me based on what boils down to the second time I've posted my experience. I have not been there for many appointments. I have seen the waiting room packed as well quite. PA Matt has given me 100% of his attention as well as a good understanding of my condition as well as Dr chambers. Did not always hear what I wanted. They never left me hanging. But if someone is implies that my rating is fake. You LOOSE as a father of two, well let's say misrepresenting of all things as a Dr office is just plain wrong on all levels. When it comes to health care, children it would take a real POS to miss lead a parent. But I've only shared my personal opinion and experience. I do not nor have I associated myself with PA Matt, Dr Chambers or any of his staff outside of the clinic. It's to bad if anyone has had a bad experience. Why would 5 stars for a few visits be so hard to believe. Again I can only share my personal opinion. As well have I felt so compelled to throw in my 2 since. As I stated this is the only time I felt so compelled to share my opinion. I say it again. Good ol family practice with state-of-the-art technology. I recently moved to Azle and was in search of a doctor. I visited Dr. Chambers and found his medical knowledge to be lacking. He googled my symptoms and diagnosed me through wikipedia. When I later called his office to complain, the customer service was terrible. The office manager ultimately hung up on me and refused to provide her name. Extremely unprofessional! I started seeing Dr . Chambers in 2010 when we moved to Azle. I always thought he was a good Doctor and had no problems with him until today. I went to my Dr appointment for my yearly and was told that I switched dr. I told them I didn't know what they were talking about and asked to speak with him. He opened the door and called me over to say that 3yrs ago I fired him because he wouldn't give me pain pills! I tried to tell him he has me confused with someone else but he wouldn't let me talk... I left there in tears! I'm still really confused and now everyone in his office and the 6-10 people waiting in the waiting room thinks I'm some kind of druggie! I'm so embarrassed... I was just there with my daughter like 3 or 4 weeks ago! I'm sure that someone did do that to him but it wasn't me and now I have to try and find a new family doctor. Either he is losing his mind or his staff doesn't know what they r doing and mixed my records with someone else but either way I would not suggest going to him at all! read more

I have been going to Dr. Chambers for over 2 years. He is not only compassionate but very knowledgeable. In fact, he is one of the best doctors that I have ever had. He always takes a moment to listen to any problems I may be having. His staff is absolutely wonderful and believe me at age 54 that means a lot. I have been to doctors in which I refused to go back because of the front office staff. Again, everyone at Dr. Chambers is wonderful, kind and compassionate with the understanding that you are there because you do not feel well. I drive 40 miles to go to this Doc. He is that good. I always feel comfortable and they always take care of me. I'm shocked that anyone could have a bad experience. Both Dr. Chambers and Mister Matt are great. Never heard anything untoward come out of either of their mouths or the receptionists or nurses. I've always been treated with respect by everyone in that office. To Pastor Steve I would say that maybe he isn't really military or maybe he just never saw a Doctor while he was in, because you are constantly treated like crap by soldiers and civilians alike , and of course you are always faking it/ Malingering. Obviously you have never been to the VA because if you had then you would laud praises onto Dr. Chambers Practice. I love being able to go to a Doc who actually listens to you. I love being able to see a Doctor! Never saw one in the military and now I'm paying for it. Definately not the federal government. Hope you enjoy your Obama care.
