With the ortho follow up a full week later, it would be 3 weeks until I could learn if I needed surgery. All the while burning sick leave and vacation at work. So I called scheduling and tried to find an earlier date. The scheduler said they had a spot in Ft Worth today at 2:15. It was now 9:30 am, that office is at least a 2 hour drive, I said heck yeah sign me up! The scheduler said they would send me a text with the address and confirmation. I left just before noon....not wanting to be late and waste their time. BUT, i had not received the text. So I called the number while I was on my way 817-289-2002. Spoke to another very nice person. I let her know I had not received the confirmation text like they said I would, so I wanted to call and confirm the appointment and location....after all it was a 2 hour drive...... The scheduler was perplexed why I did not get the text but... joyously confirmed my appointment was good to go! She also let me know my part to pay was also $222. I said ok and kept driving. I arrived at 2:00 for the 2:15 appointment. Again, not wanting to waste anyone's time. I go into the office and let the clerk know Im there for my 2:15 appointment. I could tell she wasn't finding anything, so I added, its really at 2:30 but I came in early for the paperwork. The clerk said 'sir your appointment isn't for today because we have nobody here who can do it .' You had an appointment for the 27th and then the 21st, but it is not today. They know we don't have anyone here on Fridays to do the GAD.... She then says 'Are you sure you called the right place?' I showed her the number I called, and she looked perplexed....and said well thats our scheduling number.. I call the scheduler while Im standing there at the window. She once again confirms my appointment is for today..... but needs to check on things and puts me on hold. The phone rings right inside the window to the girls I was talking to...... Lots of Umhmmm, Umhmm....Uhmmm. Then girl number 2 says Did you call our scheduler.....I said yes Im on hold with here now......She then says OH she just called and asked us to reschedule you....... Can you come back monday????? What in the shit show is going on at this place? Talk about amateur hour. I asked if there was anything else he could do to help and was denied even that. This is a small clinic and I was one of 3 patients in the entire building. Been here 90 minutes now with nobody checking in on me, I need a basic antibiotic and I'll be on my way. I thought about just doing teledoc, I have insurance. They do not accept insurance here. The only reason I come here is that it's usually fairly quick and easy care. This experience may be the reason that I won't come back. The entire clinic is pin drop quiet and I'm in here watching movies waiting for service.

But I am now choosing to look elsewhere because of a shocking new and dangerous policy they just put in place. It has been one year since my last visit when I was prescribed one year on my blood-pressure medication. I submitted a refill request with my pharmacy five days ago. They did not respond to the pharmacy. The pharmacy put in the request again and the request was denied with no explanation. I called the clinic and was told there are no grace periods. It has been one year and they would not refill my prescription until I came in for an appointment. The staff member refused to acknowledge my concerns about an in person visit until I was fully vaccinated for Covid-19. In fact, she made me feel like my concerns were not valid. I was told insurance would no longer pay for phone consultations. I had to come to the clinic. I asked for one month. In that time I could be fully vaccinated. I was denied. She said it was a strict policy and there was nothing she could do. No refills until an appointment. I am in complete shock. I told her that policy was unreasonable and that if they cared so little about their patients that I would have to make a change. Without a care in her voice she said "ok". Well I am not "ok". My blood-pressure is thru the roof. I can not believe they would rather have me go to the emergency room than give me any additional time on the prescription. All so they can make money on the appointment? That is cold.
