After reviewing my care summary and surgery report, I notice the report says 4 polyps removed and a random biopsy was done. Totally different than what he said in person. Misinformation from such a "renowned" doctor is pretty crappy. Its obvious his money got his name on the building and not his skills.

The culprit was my gall bladder and the recommendation was to get rid of that sucker. Having already had two feet amputated in my life, I don't take getting rid of body parts lightly. That said, I was in pretty horrible pain. I was scheduled for an appointment with Dr. Baughman, a general surgeon with the Community Health Network who has a specialty in advanced laparoscopic and intra-abdominal surgery. Being that I was in a relative crisis, his team got me into the office quickly and he wasted no time in recommending removal of the gall bladder. He explained things in a way that were both complex yet easily understood - in other words, he used layman's terms without actually talking down to me. As an abuse survivor, I seldom feel completely comfortable with male physicians despite having had numerous over the years. Dr. Baughman's casual demeanor and compassionate approach calmed down my usual anxieties and made me feel like I could actually handle this journey. I was scheduled for a short but important trip. Dr. Baughman medicated me well and scheduled my surgery for the day after my return. It was a level of consideration I deeply appreciated. Where Dr. Baughman elevated himself from a good physician to a great one was in the day of the surgery itself. The night before the surgery, I was beyond alarmed (actually terrified) to have a dream where I died during surgery. I hadn't intended to share this dream, but was admittedly still anxious when I arrived at the outpatient center and casually mentioned it to the nurse. Quite honestly, I expected it would simply be laughed off. It wasn't. When Dr. Baughman arrived in the exam room, he immediately addressed my concerns with sincerity and honesty. In fact, he offered me the chance to reschedule the surgery because he was concerned about my level of anxiety. I think he went down to Risks 101 and really explained the entire process and was nothing short of respectful, compassionate and patient. It was exemplary medicine. I had the surgery, which was a little more complicated than expected, and experienced that same level of compassion and patience in a couple of follow-up appointments. The problem was successfully addressed and Dr. Baughman displayed a high level of knowledge and care throughout the entire journey. I would easily and wholeheartedly recommend him.

Over 60 days ago I had Dr. Clarke's endoscopy on my esophagus to find a cause of my digestive…read moreproblem. I'm 92 and feel now as though I left my life in that Recovery room. I don't think there was any consideration for my age. Noting no change in my regaining my "old self" after many days, I wanted the Dr. to know of the many side effects I'd been left with. I questioned Dr. Clarke about each one: he was very dismissive and " it may take a little longer for you to feel better." The discharge papers stated I'd had a "therapeutic stretch injury." My throat still feels swollen or like a "lump in my throat." The Dr.'s answer to my concern; " see your ENT." His post scope Rx caused a side effect of day-long headaches. I threw the meds away and asked "What now?" The Dr.'s response: "get an OTC anti-acid." There was never any empathy; Again," it may just take longer for you to feel better." Over two months later, I still have headaches, never in my life had I ever experienced them until this Scope. One result of the procedure left my voice changing dramatically; I did not recognize my own speech. If I talked more than a few minutes I began adopting a guttural voice and had to stop phone calls or conversing with family. I used to be a peppy lady, very social, and quite often met my family and friends for shopping outings and lunches. No more, I'm worn out all the time. I just slog around my home and regret so very much agreeing to the scope. I had colorectal cancer two years ago, successfully taken care of by another physician. That Dr.'s office recommended Dr. Clarke for my digestive concern; I worried that I had cancer again rather than a digestive complaint. I agreed to the endoscopy and it was the worst mistake of my life. The most encouraging words after my entire ordeal were from the nurses at the Endoscopy Center; they were very caring and after I had told them of my experience, the Center's Manager phoned me to express her caring and sympathy. She wanted to know more about my lack of well-being and the lack of empathy I'd received from the Dr. I told her everything as I am doing here.

This is the IU Health - Glendale Town Center practice, a practice devoted to primary care and also…read morepediatrics. There's also a lab available in this office. For those familiar with Glendale Town Center, this is located on the second floor of the offices section of the complex on the side directly off of East 62nd Street. There's a small lobby/storefront area directly next to Mattress Firm that has an elevator that will take you to the second floor. There's also a set of stairs available for those who prefer. I needed to establish care with a new primary care physician as my previous one relocated to Shelbyville and is just a bit too far away for me. I'd previously looked at appointments here, however, they were a couple months out and I skipped it. However, because I attend an IU Health clinic elsewhere they were able to get me in within a couple weeks. They do have automatic doors for those who need them. That's a plus. I also noted very quickly that this was one of the better looking and cleaner IU Health clinics I've experienced. I arrived a good 15-20 minutes before my scheduled check-in time and checked in at the front desk. Because I'm an established IU Health patient, I didn't really need to do much else. I waited in the waiting room until I was called. I was taken back in a timely manner. They asked me how I usually got weighed (I don't usually as most clinics are not set up for wheelchair users) and I did note they didn't have any of the modern tech that would do that without a scale. I was taken into an exam room - very small room that would definitely not be considered ADA compliant. It was so small I had to move quite a bit in order for the employees to get around me. I did like that they had an exam bed that was lower to the ground and adjustable. However, this was definitely not an appropriate room for a wheelchair user. My doctor was Dr. Boyce. We had a nice conversation about my needs for the day. She only works part-time in the clinic and we also discussed that. It was a fine appointment - not outstanding, however, there was really nothing wrong with it. I was somewhat hesitant to establish with IU as they are not the top tier of my insurance, however, Dr. Boyce seems nice and this is very close to my home. So, it should work. My hope is that in the future I can utilize a more appropriate exam room. However, overall, this was a solid experience with friendly staff and a warm, comfortable atmosphere.

I first met with Dr. Charbel explaining what I was feeling, and after examining my arm he wrote up a treatment plan for me with specific goals and a timeline. He explained what the treatment would look like and how many appointments I may need. Over the next several visits of acupuncture and tissue massage, I learned that Dr. Charbel is not only a top notch doctor, but also he is a caring, compassionate human being. He is someone I have come to trust knowing that he truly has my best interests in mind. Best of all, his treatment plan worked. My pain is gone! Though our time together is coming to an end, I will not stop singing my praises of Dr. Charbel. He is the good doctor of chiropractic people deserve!

During the visit, he performed surgery on a sweat gland while joking about how much the procedure was going to hurt. He was right--it was unnecessarily painful, and the pain only intensified in the following weeks. After seeking a second opinion from another podiatrist, I learned that Dr. Agricola had gone much too deep during the surgery. In the process, he severed a nerve, which has caused further complications that now affect my toe. I am now dealing with permanent damage and more pain than I started with. I would strongly caution others before seeking treatment here.

Dr. Agricola's staff was able to get me in their schedule faster than I anticipated, which was fantastic. We're talking like, within a week from my initial phone call! It's currently mid-May and flip flop season is already here, so I want my dogs looking sexy!
