On one occasion I came in with my walker and had had hand surgery and my left hand completely wrapped. They expected me to place a Urinary collection hat in the toilet knowing my hand bound up and. Balance issues due to stroke. They also felt I could then pour the Urine in a specimen container with the use of only one hand and with balancing issues due to a recent stroke. So it appears some possible false positives. One false positive is a big concern. I also had a concern of falling trying to do all they unrealistically expected I could do with one hand and balance issues. I still haven't had answers to important questions. I found another urolgist near my home off Polaris but they are OHIO Health Urology too. I was then told since I let OHIO Health Urology at Grant go I am barred from all OHIO Health Urology practices. That doesn't even make sense. I let OHIO Health Urology at Grant go. They also had me going out 2/15/2021 to appointment at Ohio Health Urology at Polaris. I traveled there in a huge snow emergency. They are aware I use a walker due to recent stroke and am on blood thinners. I get a call once I arrived in parking lot telling me my appointment cancelled. Since I had a disagreement with OHIO health urology at Grant ( which was due To errors they committed) that I couldn't see any UROLOGISTS AFFILIATED WITH OHIO HEALTH UROLOGY GROUP. This is outrageous. WHY PUNISH A PATIENT FOR WHAT THEIR HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS DID. PLUS STILL NEED CRITICAL QUESTIONS ANSWERED.

I am writing about another SportsMax location on Polaris Parkway - but they are one and the same…read moreorganization with doctors working from multiple locations. I actually started at this location a LONG time ago (and about 3 doctors ago within this practice). My original doctor is still here (I think) but I changed when my office ended up right next to the Polaris location. I initially got connected to the practice through a referral to a doctor who had expertise in 2 areas I needed help with. The fact that it was sports medicine was just an added bonus. I appreciate their long hours and variety of doctors. They are also connected to PT which I've had to use upon occasion. My current doctor is younger than me - a female, not by requirement but she was available when the prior doctor (whom I didn't really like) left the practice. I had only seen him twice and I landed with him when I changed locations. I had to see my doctor this time as I needed a script renewed. I had the 7 AM appointment and was called back barely after sitting down after checking in. My stats were taken by the assistant and again - soon after she left the room the doctor appeared. NO WAITING! This is a MAJOR pain point for me as I'm a lawyer and my time is valuable. I've had some experiences recently at another doctor (specialist) where I had to get up and leave before even getting called back from the waiting room as I just couldn't waste any more of my time waiting. The frosting on the cake was that the office manager was SURPRISED when I left. Anyways, I have not encountered ANYTHING like this at Sports Max. They respect me and my time. My office moved downtown and I have stayed with the Polaris office. I would like to have a doctor near my home (Gahanna), but OhioHealth doesn't seem to have anything there - and Sports Max definitely does not. As a result, I'll stay with SportsMax and the inconvenient drive up as long as they keep their scheduling accurate and get me in and out quickly!

I have never been so happy; I have had type 1 (juvenile) diabetes since 1990. I was devastated when I had to leave my pediatric endocrinologist in Toledo. Since 2006, the struggle began to find someone brave and funny enough to oversee my care for my adult life. After moving to Columbus in 2009, I had seen one, horrible, dreadful endocrinologist before almost completely giving up. At the suggestion of a cardiologist I worked for, he took one look at me and said, "I have the perfect recommendation for you. You will love her." Wow. I was blown away. Not only does Dr. Christofides care about your individual health plan (instead of treating you like every other patient), she was personable, out going, funny and dedicated to getting my health back on track. I must admit I have since disappointed her, by neglecting my health, but she is very understanding and forgiving. If you see anyone else in the area for your diabetes, thyroid, or osteoporosis issues - shame on you. Jump on the Christofides bandwagon, because it is one hell of a ride.
