I am a patient of Dr. Colin Ryan and am pleased with HIM. However, the front office staff shouldn't let the door hit them on the backside as they are fired!!! Dr. Ryan scheduled me for a surgical procedure. I had the preop visit at Health First which went well. They were professional, courteous and I complimented the entire staff. I was told I would hear the day before surgery the time to arrive etc. WRONG!! WRONG!!! and WRONG AGAIN!!! I received nothing! Finally at 4:00, the day before scheduled surgery, I called the office anticipating they closed at 5:00. No, they closed at 4:00. The answering service took my call and had the doctor on call get back to me. He went into the schedule and told me my procedure had been CANCELLED. He did not give a reason. Here it is the following day and I have heard nothing from anyone!! I attempted to reach the office manager leaving my name and number, and of course, have not heard back! THIS IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!! For years and years there has been an option offered to leave a message on the person's number. I received nothing!! Not even please call the office back. How do we the patients deal with this kind of treatment which to me is disrespect!?!? Patients are the LIFEBLOOD of a practice and certainly deserve common courtesy!! I had paused medications expecting surgery, made arrangements with family, rearranged my own personal schedule all for nothing!!! You can rest assured if I treatment my appointment this way in reverse I would receive a hefty bill! Will I be compensated?? FYI, I worked in the medical field front office, including surgeon's scheduling, for over 25 years and this was not allowed to happen!!! No wonder this office's rating is so low!!! I am very disappointed and frustrated with the pain management during my recent vasectomy with Dr. Ng at Central Ohio Urology. Before the procedure, I told them that lidocaine doesn't work well for me because my body metabolizes it quickly. I was assured it wouldn't be a problem and that any pain would be addressed. During the procedure, I felt everything despite multiple injections. I told the staff several times that I was in pain, but they didn't stop or reassess -- they just continued. Dr. Ng and the nurse looked concerned, but no one paused. The nurse even had to slightly hold my legs down because of how much I was moving from the pain. Still, they carried on like nothing was wrong. At the end, no one apologized or checked if I was okay. I felt dismissed and ignored after a very painful experience. Worse, I can't speak directly with Dr. Ng about this. Every attempt is redirected to scheduling another costly appointment. This lack of communication and disregard for my concerns is unacceptable. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of communication so far and sincerely urge Dr. Ng and Central Ohio Urology to reach out to me directly without further delay. read more

I was referred to this location by my general practitioner for an on-going kidney stone issue. The building is huge and well-kept. Overall for a doctors visit it was fine. There were a few things though... I read reviews that the front desk staff were rude, and while i didn't specifically experience that, i will say they were quite unprofessional. All the staff behind the desk were talking quite loudly about personal affairs in a way that felt inappropriate. They also were blatantly and very loudly bad-mouthing patients. I heard them talk crap about one person that went directly to the elevators for example -- names were thrown around. It just didn't sit well for me. I saw Dr. Cohn (i believe) ... he was nice enough and very prompt, albeit a tad abrasive. When I was talking through my issues he was a bit dismissive. All the nurses were super nice and the technician for the X-ray machine was very sweet. read more

I have a history of kidney stones and last month I was blessed with some of the obvious symptoms of a stone. After seeing my primary care doctor at Ohio State, it was evident that my case was urgent and I needed to see someone as soon as possible. The OSU Urology department was unable to get me into an appointment before the holidays, so I was referred to the Central Ohio Urology Group. I was able to get an appointment within a week, which was much appreciated. My appointment wasn't at this specific location, and my doctor wasn't exactly satisfactory, but he ordered an ultra sound and an x-ray on top of the CT I had. My tests were scheduled for 9:30 in the morning here in Gahanna and I arrived a few minutes early. The check-in process was simple. I gave the receptionist my name and she handed me an electronic tablet that I was able to use at my seat. I answered numerous questions and handed it back. I was called back for my testing after a very brief wait, thank goodness. Both technicians I worked with were super friendly and made me feel completely comfortable. The facilities were clean and I got out of there earlier than I expected. Overall, the process was really smooth. I can only hope that my next appointment with my doctor goes smoother and I don't have to get any more tests. Fingers crossed. read more

I would NOT recommend this office unless you're young and have no problems. In particular, Dr. Cunningham, whose bedside manners seem to have escaped him when he graduated, and Dr. Ryan who has no concept of how to treat a patient with dementia, the ways illnesses like UTI's impact and show up in the elderly, and is only willing to answer your questions on the days he's in the location you visit. We will NOT be taking my father to this office again since they were completely clueless on how to treat him, waited 3 days, not including 2 weekend days, to give me a response on medication. By the time they called, my father was hospitalized with hallucinations and delusions from the UTI that had gone undiagnosed for 5 days, making him literally out of his head. read more

This is unfortunate for me because I think the Doctors are top notch. That being said, the practice is the worst I have ever encountered for a large scale operation. Over four appointments, the average wait time PAST the scheduled appointment has been one hour and fifteen minutes. All with no contact in the interim. You just sit there, wondering if you have been forgotten. In addition to the unprofessional behavior and poor patient experience, their technical abilities to track records, establish a working patient portal, and other common capabilities is abysmal. After they changed internal systems, records were lost. After they changed portals, records were lost. In the critical world of electronic medical records, this is unacceptable. I was rushed through there like a car part on an assembly line. Did they even listen to what I had to say? Nope. On a scale of "we care" to "We don't GAf", they were closer to the latter. I may have prostate cancer. I seem to think the cure may be worse than the disease at this point. Notes: Dr. Patel is probably very good at whatever it is he does. He goes out of his way to make you know that. He DOES NOT LISTEN to what the patient actually needs, however. His staff doesn't actually care about you. They sent my meds to the wrong pharmacy. Administration and patient communications is absolutely terrible. Central Ohio Urology Group phoned in a prescription to the wrong pharmacy (far south side of Columbus, when I had requested far north side). They told me that was corrected at check-out (it wasn't). Messages via the new portal went unanswered for 3 days, and I still don't have the medication that was prescribed. As others have mentioned, wait times are long, paperwork is overwhelming, and I was even charged a co-pay for lab work at the Wilson Bridge facility. read more

John is having some pain and Dr. Pewitt is running tests to figure out what's causing it. He has always taken the time to talk with us about is willing to go the extra time to figure out what we need to do. Central Ohio Urology Group has taken care of myself as well as my family for many years. Kidney stones seem to love our genetic makeup! We have seen several different doctors in this practice and have never been disappointed with their doctors and staff! I would definitely recommend this practice to anyone who needs to see a urologist. They have two different offices, one in Grove City as well as the office in Gahanna right off of 270. read more

The office is grossly understaffed. The patient portal is no longer accessible. I recently had a visit and diagnosed with chr9nic postatitus. The infection bad enough to nearly stop urine flow. Doc refused to to provide a paper script for much needed antibiotics stating they only do electronic scripts. After verifying my pharmacy, nothing arrived 4 days in a row. Phone calls have been a minimum 45 minute hold times, each disconbected as soon as they were answered. Resorted to call the emergency after hours doc for a script. That was well over an hour ago. read more

Came here for a procedure. Didn't even know there was much back here, and the facility looks fairly new. Friendly staff from check-in on, organized and distanced. Comfy waiting area. Clean, private, cozyish prep and recovery area. Everything went fine, and I was kept informed of what would be happening the entire way. read more

This is the worst medical practice I have ever seen. Dr. Martin's office rescheduled my appointment twice. Additionally, he doesn't take the time to thoroughly review your files prior to see you. I asked him what was my prostate density, and all I got was a red face, and an incoherent attempt of him trying to calculate it. The doctors seem to be good. However, my first two appointments I waited over an hour past my appointment time. Today, I had an 8:30 am appointment in Pickerington, we live in Delaware. An hour there, a 20 minute wait, and then we were advised the doctor was out of the country!?! What? Guess he didn't update his calendar. Now I am rescheduled out a month to see this guy. My wife and I both took time of work , had two hours in the car traveling. If you want to be treated like livestock, this will be a good place for you. If you want to be treated like a human with a touch of empathy, this is not the place for you as your time is not valued. read more

I wouldn't recommend them because there billing department does not know how to bill their patients they wait until they are there for a surgery and ask them for a copay. They collected a what they said was a facility cost and a co ins when we got to Dr Andy Cho's office. My friend has a dual MCR plan and Molina for their MCD plan and they made them pay. My friend told their doctor who's Dr Andy Cho and he didn't care just said they have to talk to billing. Kim and Mary lied to my friend and told them they are due a refund and should have it once the claims are paid in about 30-45 days. They don't deserve any stars!!!!! read more

Service is good, but aftercare and communication is zero stars. They use Medfusion for communication, and they absolutely suck! Send you emails, but won't let you into patient portal. Even with the right user/password info it just does nothing. Three emails in three hours from them and I can't open portal on any of them. Like many on here, my experience with Central Ohio Urology hasn't been good at all. First of all, I hadn't been with the doctor 2 minutes before he mentioned surgery, without any tests or examinations. Then as expected, all he did was prescribe Flomax. Of course that was done through their in-house dispensary which is a total disaster. They are slow returning calls about refills and are inexplicably closed on a whim. Then when you complain about them you are treated rudely. Any attempts to get the prescription transferred to another pharmacy have been ignored. All in all, a very unprofessional place, just a billing mill. Will not be going back. read more

I visited this office in July 2018. I recall paying them while I was there but I do not recall the amount nor do I have any way to prove it. Fast forward to July 2020 and I get a $155 bill. I called and asked why I'm getting a bill 2 YEARS later. The lady I spoke to agreed that it's odd and she'd look into it and get back to me. She never got back to me...and January 2021 I get a letter from collections. I'm beyond mad now, I call central Ohio urology in Gahanna and just paid the bill to be done with it. I spoke with Dottie and she assured me she'd get the collections issue cleared up... fast forward 3 more weeks and I get another collections letter saying $155 is still owed. I will never go back to this place, I will never recommend them to anyone and I will discourage anyone I know from going to this place. If I could give them zero stars I would. The answering service is awful. We desperately needed to speak to a physician and unfortunately got stuck with Jamie, a manager for the answering service. She was unhelpful and rude. We only asked to leave a message or for her even to relay a message to the doctor on call and not only did she refuse, but she said she couldn't continue talking to us because she needed to move onto other more important patients. I needed help resolving a billing issue (which itself was a large fee for a 5-minute consultation that involved no actual treatment). In trying to get the issue resolved, several of the staff I spoke with were condescending to put it mildly, and I never got meaningful help. The staff are wonderful in person. However if you have a question expect to get REALLY frustrated by their voice tree. The recording is long, tedious, and does not cover all options. Following the most general of branches you arrive at "For other issues press "0". Unfortunately their system replies that "0" is not an option and it kicks you out. This place is awful. You're confronted immediately upon entering the door to fill out reams of superfluous paperwork asking repetitive questions and collecting their money. Especially collecting their money! Some of my appointments have been within 3 days of each other, and I'm still subjected to all the same, exact paperwork and bill collecting! Well, you would think that so much detail work up front would lead to effective health care, but it doesn't at C.O.U.G.! The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing there! It's near impossible to get anybody on the phone there, and they send you bills for more money that have no explanations on them so you can't link the billing to any services provided. Furthermore, they have sent multiple billings to an old, out-of-date medical insurance company of mine, and when coverage was denied, (of course) they came after me for their money! Wouldn't you think that a organization that meticulously gathers so much information every time you walk in the door would properly handle your billings with your current health insurance provider? Went for a test on September 9th. Was told the doctor was running 1 hour late after I had already paid the co pay. Rescheduled for September 30th at the same location and was told when I arrived that my appointment was at a different location even though I specified I needed this location. Rescheduled for October 10th and was told I would get a phone call 2 business days prior to to appointment to tell me a time. Received a phone call 5 days prior stating that I owed additional money because the same test was scheduled at the surgery center and they charge more money. Did not pay that after complaining about it being their mistake. No phone call so I called one day before my appointment and was told I don't have an appointment. I was placed on hold for over 20 minutes and finally hung up. Called the number back and said I needed to speak to a live person. I was in tears by this point. I was assured by the woman on the phone that I would get a call back. This is unacceptable and now I have to start the process all over again and hope that my insurance company will pay for the same tests twice in one year. read more

UPDATE! I had previously posted and commented on how terrible this money hungry, poor facility was and how I had problems with them. On 7/9/2021 after being totally frustrated with the I asked that my test results and records be transferred to Ohio State. The stated that they would make the referral immediately and that someone from Ohio State would call me whitin a week to schedule an appointment. When I didn't hear anything after a week, I called Ohio State, they never received a referral for me. So then I started calling central ohio urology back. Having called over 40 times over 40 times and leaving close to two dozens messages, I finally got a call back, it is now 8/9/2021 a month later and the lady in scheduling told me she was sorry and that the referral was never made. She started that she would do it today! When I express how disappointed I was and that I wanted to report my dissatisfaction, she replied "Do it, I don't care" and hung up! This place is horrible and should not be in business. I am so anger of how they take people's health for granted. Its definitely a Monet trap, be careful when the reccomend and type of test or procedures. GET A SECOND OPINION, they are really just trying to generate revenue! The entire staff is unprofessional and un healthy. The have intentionally deployed a flawed system that makes it difficult for you to communicate with them. At this point I'm beyond stressed with this medical issue, kidney stones, and adding on the stress of dealing with setting up appointments and procedures with you all is not helping. After my first appointment with Dr Patel on 2/13, I was checked out by a lady (around 4:15/4:30pm in Gahanna, and I live in work in Grove City) whom wasn't very kind or understanding that I couldn't just dropping everything get the X-ray that was ordered down that night then come in for a midday appointment the next day. I felt very much like I was being judge because I couldn't make that happen as fast as she expected me to. End up getting the X-ray later that evening in at the Mt Carmel location after having dinner and taking care of my dog. Set up a Friday the 16th appointment for 4:15pm and that one was fine, another X-ray and appointment set up. This past Friday 2/23 I was in there and Dr Patel stuck his head in and said he was going to look at the X-ray, then some nurse came in for me to sign a consent I asked for what, and she apparently was under the impression that he spoke to me about the 'blasting' procedure. This was not the case he may have said it in popping his head in why passing by but I had not been informed that was the decision he was making for me till she came in. From there he scheduling lady was out. Heard from her on 2/26, and that was not a positive experience either. I had left a note and message to ensure she knew I would like to have the procedure done on a Friday morning. Various reasons include my dog, my work, sick time limitations, and so on. She told me I that she would have to check which location it had to be done at because of my weight/BMI and that made me scratch my head because if she had my info, assuming she did, then why not check this before calling? I was told it would have to be don't at Mt. Carmel West, and that's fine actually closer drive so that's fine, but I was given a 'window' of time (7am -11am) vs a set time that the surgery would take place and that I wouldn't get that info till the day before. I find this practice a bit disorganized and unclear. So now we are up to three - four times if felt a bit uneasy or stressed by this office, which in my gut is telling me try a different office/doctor/group. Then today I get on the portal because I'm nearly out of pain meds and figured some could be called in or I can pick up GE script. Which is take care of perfectly fine, no hick-ups. However, I see my procedure is scheduled for 3pm on 3/9. This is not in the 'window' of time I was told and also was told no food or water after midnight. That means that day I by the time to procedure is scheduled to start at 3pm I will have gone 14 hours no eating and drinking. I get I can survive, not saying I will die my concern is the pain meds they don't sit well without food and going from midnight to 3pm I will be in horrible pain, plus I get migraines all the time so no food or drinking doesn't help. And this right here is why I'm posting. I am not saying any one person is to blame and I definitely not blaming Dr Patel for this stress. I have sent contact us forms in twice now no response, I have made it clear that I am not happy about this 3pm procedure because it means I will be suffering for a longer period of time but I haven't cancelled it because I need it done. There has be something that can be done? Even today when I called to ask why it had to change and different scheduling person was very rude. I feel very unheard, my concerns have not been addressed, and if I could I would go to a different doctor but here I am in pain and have really no other option that will get this over with by the same time frame. No only am I frustrated with my pain but now I'm stressed and frustrated by all of this. Something in your system needs to change, and I can't be the only that this has frustrated in anyway. Today 3/9/18. I logged into the online portal to send a message to Dr Patel about pain medication and I see they have scheduled a follow up appointment for me without ever talking to me what so ever. How is this acceptable? Way Since the addition on 3/9 Around 3/14 or so I called a left a message on the nurse line about pain when urinating  NO ONE called back. I even sent a message on the patient portal, but still no response. Had to contact my GP to address the issue. I called and reschedule my follow up appointment to accommodate my schedule. Today 3/28 I have/had a 2pm appointment for an X-ray then LPN appointment at 2:15pm I got here about 1:45/1:50pm they did the X-ray fast (less then like a minute after being checked in) when I asked about getting a copy of my X-ray for my personal records I was looked as though and told why would I want that, because it's my records and that is allowed by law. Then I got pulled back into a room about 2/2:15 pm. This room reaked of urine. I waited till about 2:40pm to speak to anyone. read more

I'd like to echo many of the sentiments that some of these reviews have revealed. No call backs. Left 3 VM's today alone, 2 yesterday and have yet to get a call back. Also emailed to no avail. Yet, they are more than willing to take my copay every time without hesitation. Seams like they just want to run tests to bill my insurance company instead of fixing the bladder issue at hand. It's a shame this day and age that you can't get proper medical care for an issue you've been having for months. I would not recommend this place whatsoever. Dr. Bloch came to my rescue when I was at Riverside this summer with a kidney stone. Other doctors wanted to wait to see if I could pass it on my own, but Dr. Bloch saw how much pain I was in. He took care of me and then followed up the next day. I will be going to him for now on with my kidney stones! read more

I was extremely uncomfortable and from the front office, the nurses who I wish I could remember their names, Cassandra, Dr. G, and Dr. Patel; I couldn't be happier. My experience with Central Ohio Urology Group with my doctor has been nothing but good. My husbands doctor and surgeon has been good, except one visit the nurse was rude. The main complaint I have with this group is their decision to send out FLMA papers to a third party to be filled out, and that party charging $30.00 before they will even process the paperwork. It's literally 5-10 lines for doctor to fill out! It's ridiculous! So if you are having a surgery, and you are going to be off work, and already losing money because you will be off work, on top of having to pay all the hundreds for your co-pay be ready to shell out another $30.00 more, because it's so hard for them to take out time to fill out 5-10 lines! read more

Terrible experience. Was a new patient. Appointment was at 2:30 today. Arrived early. Filled out all paperwork. Sat in the patient room until 3:45. Never did see Dr. Vijan. Was left in there without anyone checking in with me. So, I left. Will not be going back and certainly won't be giving any recommendations. read more
