I have been coming to the clinic for four years now and I have never been displeased. I see Dr…read more Jacqueline Rohl. She is very experienced, friendly, outgoing, and easy to talk to. I think that's very important when selecting a doctor in this area. I would recommend her to any of my friends. She takes time to make sure all your questions are answered and always remembers who I am and my medical history [and I only come in once a year!]. Sometimes this office gets busy and there is a long wait; however, I went today and arrived 40 minutes early. I got into and out of my appointment before I was even scheduled, which I appreciated. So I think the wait time is really hit or miss. Going to an OSUMC doctor will always be like this, because it's such a large facility and they see so many patients. My only concern is with billing. I read a review from Emily H. below about insurance advice/billing and I sympathize and agree with her. I had an issue where they charged me $288 for some tests that they had told me were covered by insurance. After a lot of fighting I stopped receiving the bill, and to my knowledge the matter was solved. I think you just have to be persistent with them. They see so many people and seem to not be as organized as they could be. All-in-all though, I have only had good experiences here. I don't mind the waiting and things like that because Dr. Rohl herself is an awesome doctor!

After I graduated and could no longer utilize the Student Health Center, I was looking for a doctor…read morewho was at OSU. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Goist. She was perfectly nice, but didn't seem to realize that women have 13 cycles in a year (meaning I need 12 refills for a prescription, not 11). When I had an after-hours question regarding when I should start said prescription, I left a detailed voicemail... and never got a response. Fast forward to 11 months later, when I need to make my next appointment. My insurance at the time would not cover anything, so I asked their billing department how much everything (exam and lab fees) would cost. $180, they tell me. I figure that while it seems a lot, it's a small price to be assured of my health. I make an appointment, which the office later calls back and changes to a different date and time. (It worked in my favor, so no complaints there.) While Dr. Goist was still friendly, the entire time of the appointment, from checking in with the receptionist to walking out, was 7 minutes. I wasn't asking for a long chatty visit, but I also don't like to feel like I'm being rushed. Again, the prescription was made out with 11 refills, not 12. And the cherry on top? The bill didn't arrive until 3 months later, because the office insisted on billing my insurance even though I told them they wouldn't cover anything. And the damage ended up being over $300. There was nothing complicated about my case whatsoever, so I can't even blame it on extra lab fees or anything. I've been very disappointed with my experience and overall got the impression that I was just a number and a bill to them. I don't have anyone else to recommend but would suggest that you avoid this office (or at least Dr. Goist).

6/15/22 - Appointment at Kaplansky Foot & Ankle on Olentangy. Nurse was great, receptionist kind,…read moreand Dr. Kaplansky was excellent. Paid co-pay during time of visit in FULL. 6/28/22 - Called in and paid in FULL for custom orthotics. Informed 3-4-week lead time and staff confirmed I would be contacted when orthotics arrived at the office. 7/12/22 - Received statement in mail that $40 co-pay was due. Emailed my paid in fill receipt as proof it had been paid. 8/2/22 - I called the office to confirm if my orthotics had arrived and the receptionist said the office had not received and would call me in a couple weeks. 8/17/22 - 8 WEEKS since placing order on custom orthotics. Called second time to see if custom orthotics had arrived. I was moving 3 hours north of Columbus on 8/26 and I was concerned I would be moved prior to the orthotics arriving. I was told by the receptionist that they had not been ordered. I asked for a refund, then Dr. Kaplansky spoke to me. He apologized and said he could offer a refund or place the order. He told me it would be a 2-week lead time. He said that he could have them shipped to my new address then I could trim them myself. Since I spent $475 out of pocket and didn't want to mess them up trying to trim the orthotics myself, I asked for an appointment with him on 9/9. 8/31/22 - Receptionist called and left a voicemail informing they had received my orthotics. 9/6/22 - I called and asked if it would be possible for me to pick up my orthotics earlier than Friday, 9/9. The receptionist said she could get me in at 11 a.m. on 9/7 and that they could check the fitting quickly with me. 9/7/22 - I drove 3 hours to Columbus and arrived at my appointment at 11 A.M. sharp. The receptionist greeted me. At 11:15, I had to return to my car for a Teams meeting since the basement office does not have reception. Since the receptionist was on the phone when I had to leave, I called the office and spoke with her when I got to the parking lot and told the receptionist that I had to come back to my car for a Teams Meeting. I reminded her that she told me the day prior that I would be in quickly, but that did not happen. She apologized and said she understood and that I could come back anytime today (Wednesday, 9/7) and that they would get me in quickly. She was very sincere and understanding. Before noon I receive a call from someone filling in at the Olentangy location. She informs me that they are too busy today, that she only fits the orthotics on Thursdays and that I would need to come back tomorrow. I told her that I needed to pick up the orthotics today as I live 3 hours away and drove to Columbus for this appointment today. Unlike the kind receptionist, this woman was rude, insincere, and told me that staff would be taking lunch at noon and meeting with a rep, and that I would have to arrive prior to noon to pick up the orthotics- not for her to check and make sure they fit. I told her that I would appreciate it if she would make an exception considering I drove 3 hours to Columbus for this appointment. I arrive at 11:50 and the waiting room is completely full. Her telling me on the phone that staff was going to take lunch at noon with a full waiting room, is insane. 1) From my perspective today, the receptionist who kept her cool the entire time seems very overwhelmed. She was the only one answering the phones and checking patients in/out. Why is there no one else helping her out? If I were in her position, I would have walked out. With a personality and patience like hers, she would have no problem finding a great job. 2) Completely chaotic and disorganized. From paying a copay, then being sent a statement that I still owe a copay, to telling me the orthotics were on order, then finding out weeks later the order was never placed, then completely botching the entire process, I regret not taking the refund. 3) Dr. Kaplansky seems like a nice doctor, and I hate for his staff to ruin the reputation of his business. 4) The custom orthotics I picked up today will need trimmed. I refuse to go back to Kaplansky Foot and Ankle and plan to find a podiatrist near my new home to trim the orthotics for me. 5) Patients first. I've worked at Wexner OSUMC and Nationwide Children's. I own a business and work with several reps. I know how this process should work.

I then try to get to communicate the following day and begged and begged and begged at the technical assistant would fix this.. it still wasn't fixed.. this is what they say on their MyChart..."Communicate with your doctor, get answers to your medical questions from the comfort of your own home, access your test results.". This is a complete lie.. they put me in the worst position here I couldn't even communicate with my doctor and I begged and I begged and I begged please make it so that I can send a message to my doctor on my chart.. they completely ignored me.. nobody replied nobody even cared.. find me what I did was said take my whole MyChart down I will never use it again completely remove the whole thing I will never use your service again and now I will have to call in for everything and I will never be able to use a service that they supposedly provided for me when I needed to communicate with my doctor the most important things I couldn't even get communication to her when she kept calling and calling and calling and I couldn't get to the phone because I'm working... How dare you create a system that's supposed to streamline communication and not allow a very important communication to be given to my doctor when she's calling me.. after I begged and I begged and I begged for you to fix it.. clearly the IT department should be replaced. I even submitted requests in the MyChart for technical assistance and it was completely ignored!
