My catheter company and I have been trying to get them to simply send in a new prescription for my (unchanged) catheter order for 2 weeks now and I have had to make 13 calls to date (and the prescription still has not been sent). Six (6) days ago now, on one of my follows ups, a receptionist even read me the note in my file requesting the prescription be sent. I have even been working with their "Patient Advocate" for the past 2 days - yet still the prescription still has not been sent. Not only is this a serious health risk (I am 100% dependent on Catheters) causing me serious anxiety, if my order does not go in today (the end of the month) it will cost me a ~$600 deductible (I have met my deductible for this year, and it restarts next month). So, even though I placed the order on the 16th to ensure plenty of time to fill it, Potomac Urology's administrative incompetence and apathy are now costing me ~$600.

I experienced this as inappropriate religious intrusion into medical care and a failure to provide appropriate guidance for a documented neurodevelopmental condition. If the system wasn't supposed to let me do that, that's an issue on their end, not mine. I drove over 50 minutes to this appointment, only to get a call in the parking lot telling me they didn't know how I was able to schedule and that I shouldn't have made the appointment the way I did. Instead of listening or troubleshooting, the front desk staff kept arguing with me and insisting I booked it wrong even after I explained that their own app allowed it. It was frustrating and honestly felt very dismissive. This was especially disappointing because I was referred here by my primary care provider, so I came in expecting a smooth and professional experience. On top of that, I had been waiting for some time. someone from the office was supposed to call me to schedule in the first place, and no one ever did. When I called myself, I was told I would get a callback...which never happened. At that point, I decided it was better to leave and find another office. The front desk is often a reflection of the professionalism and care within the rest of the practice, and based on this, I didn't feel confident moving forward. A healthcare office should be understanding, solutions oriented and respectful of patients' time, especially when the patient has driven nearly an hour to get there.
