While the Airline is working to compensate me for this, I still had the urgent need of 1) glasses that needed adjustment from being bent out of shape 2) scratches that needed to be buffed out and 3) a new eyeglass case. In a town where I know no one I chose a national brand place to start with in my search of getting my sun glasses at least usable. I am visiting the desert after all. I stopped in here for those reasons. Colby Watts greeted me with calm, quiet professionalism. While he was not able to help me with the scratches issue he did, 1) recommend a place that might be able to help 2) adjusted my glasses so they fit once more 3) gave me a new eyeglass case all at no charge. Of course, that analysis is done by the Optometrist, and Dr. Willems provided the most thorough eye exam I've ever had. Impressive! Optician Diane (sp?) is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and impressive as well, while the office staff are efficient and personable. Went to appointment. Was called into examination room and went through a series of tests. When…read morethat was done, another nurse came in and announced she was going to "deaden" my eye. NO communication as to why or what they were going to do that for, so I said no. Where is the Doctor to explain what's going on? She replied "fine", switched off the light and walked out. Then the Dr. appeared, gave a 2 minute explanation of my eye issue and I said, I would like to think about it. He very abruptly left and another assistant came in and said "You have to leave right now". ????? It was a horrible experience.

They are NOT helpful choosing frames which I thought was a little "lazy"; I've been other places that were super helpful (is it just me that needs help?) My husband has told me that he's gotten great service and the price is way cheaper at Costco WITHOUT THE INSURANCE!! Why did I go back here? I don't know. So, I went back, year #3. I took 2 frames that were from last year and the year before (from their store!) and just asked them to put lenses in them. WITH my insurance AND MY frames it was $775!! YES, that's correct. Then, they called me to tell me THEY BROKE BOTH of my frames and apparently I signed a WAIVER so they are not responsible! They said that this could happen EVEN IF YOU BUY A NEW FRAME FROM THEM!! THEY DO NOT COMPENSATE YOU FOR THEM BREAKING YOUR FRAMES!! LITERALLY I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS.... So, went to COSTCO. 2 brand new frames AND great lenses (all the same upgrades) AND GREAT SERVICE....$285. I was so angry they broke 2 pair of frames but now I'm glad they did! Saved me almost $500! If they had offered me $100 or let me choose 2 new frames from the store I would have stayed. THEY HAVE LOST A CUSTOMER--AND I WILL TELL EVERYONE--OVER THIS. By the way, I asked at Costco what their policy is if they break the frames. They will compensate you or let you choose new frames. I still had contact lenses in my possession, so this was not an issue. she was told that a repair was not possible and had to order new frames. okay, little inconvenient, but expected. she was told they would take just a couple of days to arrive (on a Friday). 6 April, my wife went to check if they were available for pick up. apparently, the order did not process, so they needed to be reordered. okay...no problem I guess, they wont take too long to come in. but I'm out of contact lenses so now I'm using broken glasses (one leg on them, they fall off whenever I look down). 13 April (today) my wife again goes to try and pick them up (I couldn't as I cannot legally drive without corrected vision). she was told that they do not have my order in. the second order was not processed. what degree of incompetence is required in order to run a vision center so poorly that a single pair of glasses cannot be simply repaired or even successfully ordered. my wife, thankfully, was able to procure a single sample contact lens with my prescription, so I am able to write this scathing review. The only positive about this vision center, and why I am not upset that there is no one star option, is that the resident optometrist Dr. Smith, was an all-star in regards to customer service. UNFORTUNATELY, I'm being informed that Dr. Smith ended his employment with the Walmart Vision Center in Prescott Valley on Glassford Hill, so there is no longer any reason worth using this facility. I'm unsure if this is a failure of Walmart, or if the vision center is operated separately, but Walmart should be pretty damn embarrassed about this farce.

I've never been told it's an up charge for using the two other machines during the eye exam the one that test your peripheral vision and another. But they said if I wanted to add that it would be $30 additionally. It's literally always been included in my eye exam. It's never been something that I've been told I need to pay for separately. Once I pointed that out she offered a to do it complimentary....what??? So weird. But then I met Dr. Vasquez and he was great. Definitely the saving grace of my visit here. He actually explained things to me that have never been explained before such as being able to see an allergy in my eye, and what that looks like to him anyway I left very pleased with my visit outside of them, trying to charge me for things that have always been included. So I'm giving four stars.
