It lends its self to slow progress in order to increase profits. The job would need to be quoted. Having just finished building a 3000 sq ft house I know from experience that some contractors take twice as much time to finish the job, and on an hourly rate you have no idea how mush the finish job will cost. They rudely responded....... I'm sorry but that's not what we do. We have the Ace name to stand behind and frankly that's a direct insult to our Craftsman and us here in the office. They are VERY skilled and we do not take advantage of people. We are definitely not a fit for you. Please do not contact us again. I think they need to grow up, business is business and to take it personally is that persons issue. I would not use these people. So..: I'm going to be blunt and completely honest. I had a problem with clear choice…read moreconstruction. Apparently a prior job refused to pay them and it trickled down to my job. I couldn't contact them and I was for sure I got scammed. I went as far as to go to the police and contact an attorney who told me realities of recouping money. But here's the deal. The policeman went and talked to them and came back to me and told me the truth. They had a job fall through and this cascaded through many people. Is it right I couldn't contact them... NO. But he made me see it another way. They were scared. They didn't have our deposits as most contractors use one jobs money for another and it's a house of cards. That's reality of this business. These people made a mistake, but in his words, they weren't trying to commit a crime. And don't kid yourself... almost any mom and pop business is one job away from this happening. So I had 2 choices. Get mad, sue them, keep the police involved or I could work with them. Option 1 might feel good for a minute but option 2 allows me to get my windows and take a little off their plate. So, he had them call me. And with some brutal honesty on both sides we were able to come to an agreement. They could keep my deposit as labor and I'd purchase the windows myself (through them because I'd pay a fortune and don't have a license with manufacturers). And that's what we did. In the end it cost me almost the exact same as originally quoted. 3 weeks later my windows arrived and they promptly put them in. They look wonderful and they did a magnificent job. I have zero complaints and am happy enough to tell this story and try to help them out. Look, I wanted to believe the worst and almost let my anger take me down the option 1 road. But it wouldn't have benefitted anyone. A little compassion and a bit of honesty allowed both of us to win. I recommend you use them. Their workmanship is top notch and they are just trying to recover from a job gone bad.

BEWARE! Lake Norman VIP Renovations is not a legitimate business venture. First of all, the 5 Star…read morereview you see on YELP from Kari S. is from Kari Sewell the owner of the company. That's Kari's dog in the picture. Kari Sewell, Monique Melton and Joe Morales assured us that they were fully licensed and insured. They are not licensed, I doubt they are insured. NC law states that any bid for renovations over $30,000 MUST have a contractor license. The bid was for more than $30k. The fact that they pulled NO PERMITS should have been the first warning sign. They couldn't have inspectors out to view work that was being done in violation of NC law. They took $20,000 in good faith money from us, demolished the bathroom, then essentially closed up shop and disappeared. There are several others out there in the same situation as us but for significantly more money. In addition I know of at least two subcontractors that have not been paid by Lake Norman VIP Renovations. They closed this business, Lake Norman VIP Renovations, and opened another, LKN Renovations, 187 Avalon Park Circle #301, Mooresville, NC 28117, with Monique Melton as the owner, on September 13, 2022. That was 24 days prior to our contracted completion date of October 6, 2022. That just shows they never had any intention of completing the project.
