My older son has phased out and is now in TCHS Geometry and just made the basketball team but my younger son is now back at Little Harvard. He's always enjoyed school but he is absolutely thrilled every day when he comes home from school, gushing about how great the teachers are, how wonderful his friends are, what he's learning. He told me about a child who cried when asked to introduce herself and it impressed me when my son said the teachers taught everyone to be inclusive, loving and no one made fun of her, just tried to help her. This is the environmental I want my son in- to learn to be kind, while having fun and learning. Really loving this place right now. If you're not near Arcadia School District, look up Chiao Hsin in Walnut and Monterey Park. These two so far are great for us!!! I have some of my fondest memories from this school. Cloverly is an elementary school for 4th-6th grade. It is one of the 3 elementary schools for the Temple City School District for this age level. It has been a California Distinguished School long before I had attended in 1997. Cloverly has excellent teachers and I can still remember some of my fondest childhood memories at this school. I can still remember my homeroom teachers' names - Mrs. Jarvis, Ms. Felsinger, and Mr. Lee - all wonderful teachers.

I love classical music and I regularly attend to concerts and plays. I sincerely felt like I was in front of professional musicians. The band , the choir , the orchestra and jazz band were all so amazing! I could definitely see those children playing in the future at venues like Disney hall , zipper concert Hall and the Hollywood bowl. They all behaved like pros and gave their best. My only observation is : the parents need to be educated on how to behave during the performance. They whistled so loud and one had her phone on right behind me. I think a memo or an email to the parents should go out before each performance reminding the parents what the protocol is during a concert. Is not an sport event where you scream and whistle. They really ruin it and set a bad example. It was well attended by parents and that is wonderful. More civility is needed.

Not sure how the…read morestudents and teachers are given that I visited on Saturday, but the classrooms, restroom, and cafeteria were all relatively well maintained. It's either the students must really take care of the school or the facility members (janitorial staff or the leadership at the school) for regularly cleaning the campus or deterring people that would damage it. I think one peculiar thing about the school is that there is this classroom in one of the hallways that has absolutely no windows in it, just a door. The windowless room felt very confining and doesn't seem to be an ideal classroom to teach in for most students. If my memory is intact, the other classrooms I visited have these "high-rise" windows that are closer to the ceiling than they are to the floor, but are still there. Started draft: 1/6/2013
