It was a great experience! Marcelo was amazing, his service was outstanding. We came in with a rental car and did the alpine trail. He asked the shuttle driver to pick our bikes up then when we finished the ride he came and picked our bikes up at the end of the trail. He was super nice and we had a great time. read more

This is the BEST mountain bike shop I have been to and I go to a lot of bike shops. They are so accommodating and laid back. Really friendly and funny. Service is quick. Marcelo and Olivia are so engaging. Great bikes to rent and all the makings of a great shop. They are so willing to do any adjustments to make the bike just right for you. Can't recommend highly enough. read more

We are from out of the area. Called to confirm rentals. Ended up with snowshoes on a friday, and came back the following Monday to rent again. Friendly, prompt service. My only complaint is id wish they would open sooner than 9am. read more

This place rocks! Recently on cross Oregon bike tour we went through Oakridge. However our team had split up and we planned on meeting in town. Once there, I realized I did not have any cell service. I chanced upon this shop and they were so incredibly helpful. They let me get on their wifi so I could locate my friends and were super friendly and chatty even though they were so busy. Could not have been nicer or more helpful. Later after we all met up and had lunch, we went back to the shop so my friend could have a noise in his bottom bracket looked at. They were quickly able to assist with that and we were on our way. Great people, great shop read more

Fantastic customer service and detailed knowledge of the local roads, gravel roads and mountain bike trails. Merchandise is top quality, mechanics are experts. This place has a great vibe. Make sure you stop in even if you aren't staying in Westfir or Oakridge. read more

I had a fantastic buying experience at this shop recently. The staff here is freaking awesome. The vibe is on point - these folks LOVE to ride and they live in the right place for it - and you can feel it right when you come in. I came to Oakridge and demoed a bike for the day, had a great time and wanted to make an offer on the bike. Olivia and Marcelo discussed it for a few minutes, made sure I had a nice cozy, warm garage for her forever home, and then ultimately said 'hell yeah, let's do it!' But then Marcelo went above and beyond on some quick maintenance to get the bike ready for me. Working after the shop's closing time, he put in an extra hour of maintenance on the derailleur and rear wheel to make sure it was absolutely perfect while I got to shoot the shit with Olivia. That extra service made a lifelong customer out of me. Not only did I feel like I got a fair deal on a great bike, but the customer service & experience was just top notch So thanks, y'all! I will be back. - JL read more

You guys are amazing!!! My boyfriend and I booked two shuttles to mountain bike in Oakridge only to discover the same morning of our shuttles that the stem on his bike was cracked. You not only let us in early to help, but the guy in the repair shop (whose name we sadly did not get) drove home to get the exact matching stem for us and repaired the bike. Talk about going the extra mile!!!! We made our shuttles and had a spectacular day of riding with full credit to you! You will ALWAYS be our bike shop when we visit Oakridge! THANK YOU!!! read more

Willamette Mountain Mercantile - Mt biking - Sports Wear Near Me - Oakridge, Oregon

We were on a road trip and not at all familiar with the area when we stopped by to take a look around and get some trail information. The guys here were so helpful. It was early in the season and lots of trails were still snow covered and they had all the current trail information and were able to give suggestions based on our skill level. We really didn't need to buy anything but we hunted around just for something to get because we felt like we owed them something for all the information. We had a great ride that afternoon and we will be back again some day for more riding in the area and if we need anything - this will be the place we stop! Great Crew! read more

While riding the best trails on earth yesterday I had some mechanical problems. A broken spoke and a bent derailleur hanger. I brought my bike in hoping they could squeeze me in. They called me about about 1.5hrs later to tell my e that my bike was ready to go! Professional, prompt and reasonable. read more

Friendly staff. Very informative on MTB trails. Picked up a MTB rear fender to fit my wide tires. read more

Willamette Mountain Mercantile - One of many trails next to the river - Sports Wear Near Me - Oakridge, Oregon

This place is great. They have a great selection and supply of products while being reasonably priced. Our crew has made it a tradition to stop by here first thing as soon as we arrive in Oakridge, to get some insight into the conditions of the local trails as well as recommendations on where to go. Also my friend was using a borrowed bike and she wanted different pedals on it, and the pedal wrench we had at home wasn't working. So, luckily the shop just took care of it. They are super friendly and nice. They also have really nice full-suspension bikes to demo for the day. For around $80. And, they even have a couple, simpler hard-tail bikes that are more basic for people that come out and don't want to hit the trails THAAAAT hard, and just want to ride around on the river/gravel trail too. So, they are very approachable. They also have a Oakridge Trail Map available for purchase for about $12, which I highly recommend purchasing. And, they have really cute designer trucker-hats. Our group definitely wanted to buy all of them. They were really cool! And, I also like that they have a public restroom that is easy to get to and clean. I strongly recommend anyone going to Mountain Bike out in Oakridge, definitely stopping by and checkin' in here first. read more

These guys are great! Had a problem with the front tire skewer. Took it in, afraid my riding was done that day. While repairing it for free, gave me a bunch of advice on local trails that proved to be on point. Super cool oakridge gear in stock. Definitely check this place out, even if you dont "need" anything (free stickers at counter!). Willamette Mountain Mercantile is the best bike shop I've ever experienced! I received the greatest welcome and bike rescue from the crew there! They went above and beyond expectations. After destroying a mountain bike fork bombing down the McKenzie River on day 3 of bike packing, I limped into Oakridge on day 5 banging stanchions and having zero fun. I was immediately pelted with positive energy and heartened when the mechanics exclaimed, "We're going to solve this!" Within 45 minutes, they had replaced the front half of my bike and had me rolling out to finish 3 more days of epic bike packing! It was no small feat to find the solution as my "whip" didn't jive with any of their stock forks. Even more impressive was their attitude that helped turn around my ride. We rode back up the Middle Fork to the top of the pass the next day and finished down the NUT in fine style. A big big thanks to the shop crew! Much love from the hipster packers on their whips with the Gucci gear! read more

Willamette Mountain Mercantile - We love Willamette Mountain Mercantile! - Sports Wear Near Me - Oakridge, Oregon

The most accommodating bike shop I've ever been to. I showed up Friday night at closing time with a tire that wouldn't seal when I had a shuttle scheduled for Saturday morning. Without their help Friday night, my Saturday would have been ruined. They took the bike fixed it right away and I was set. Awesome service, very nice people. Support this place. read more

This could be the best bike shop in Oregon, if not America. GREAT service, solid inventory of parts. Olivia was awesome and really took great care of me. She let me use a demo bike for free while they did a warranty repair on my bike - with no labor charge! I left a couple beers on the workbench, and tipped heavily. I am going to do business with them every chance I get, and I'm going back to"Stoke-Ridge" soon! read more

Great shop, lots of really nice bikes, they stock the parts I needed (XT brake pads and a protective frame stickers, and shirts). The 3 or 4 folks I met there were all friendly and knowledgeable of the local trails -- and there are many great trials in Oakridge! The Cogwild shuttle picks up there too. read more

Great local bike rental shop run by great locals. They rent out $3k mountain bikes for only about $70 a day, cheaper then other places I looked and totally tailor your bike to you and your weight before you head out. I got rained out on Labor Day weekend and they were nice enough to refund some of our rental $ even though it is stated they don't do refunds. Nice, nice people who are there to help - 100% recommend this shop for all your outdoor needs. I think they also offer snow shoe and other winter type sport rentals. Check them out for sure! read more

Always very helpful, helped fox my daughters bikes (small adjustment) and didn't charge me a thing! (I left a tip since he was so helpful) Also always will help air up my kids bike tires. Awesome bike shop! We got our bikes tuned up, got a shuttle, rented a bike for my friend. Got local advice. Eugene was so friendly, welcoming, informative. Seriously, a stop in this bike shop made our trip the best! Even if you are just passing through and don't have time to ride you should stop off say hello and check out their space. I feel like I have friends to go back and visit in Oakridge. I can't wait to go back and you bet I'll be stopping in to say hello! Thanks for everything! - Sam and Amy read more

great bikes and friendly and knowledgeable staff/ owner. they really took the time to help you set up the bike to fit you, and the rates are reasonable. One suggestion would be to have printouts/ maps with driving directions to the most popular trails. Most people take the shuttles. We did our own driving and had a bit of a hard time trying to remember the verbal directions. read more

I judge a bike shop by 2 things, well three if you count if they're out of shit I need. Key word: NEED. First: The eclectic bike monger with the dedicated tats and superfine lingo spewing from his mouth about bike stuff. Very important stuff. Makes me feel important asking if I knew the difference between metallic, and semi metallic brake pads. I guessed right! Well, Tommy Callahan number 2 is: The pure smell of butyl rubber whoffing from the shop. Love this. I've noted over several years of bike shop stuff and things, that this unmistakable smell is only made by shops that are bad fucking ass. It's like dragster smoke. You just know it's kick ass. This place has that. Major staple in Oakridge. So essentially number 4, if there was one, is if you're from out of town, clueless and lost, don't go back to Bend, stop by and get yourself hooked up proper. If you just rode Alpine and your shaved legs velodrome friend just left you in the dust, go here and buy a bike. Don't skimp. Buy the good shit. At least $7k worth. Or less. Or whatever just shell out the duckets. You won't regret it buying a brand new Ibis or Santa Cruz and when you're ready to shreddy, hop any one of the reliable shuttles driven by some of the most knowledgeable and friendly staff this side of the middle fork! World. Peas to the nation. Highway 68 Hillbillies for life. HYF. Drive me to the TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN!!!! read more

I took advantage of just about everything this awesome shop has to offer: trail advice, bike repair, bike shopping advice, and finally I purchased my dream bike here. Every interaction I had was incredible. The staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They never talked down to me or assumed I knew MORE than I did - they somehow got it just right every time. They never steered me wrong on a trail. And the bike purchase - whoah, the bike is AWESOME and the purchase was really fun! I will be back, and back, and back. read more

WOW! After 8 years of working in the bike industry this has been the coolest bike shop I've been to. The selection of bikes, accessories, and even camping gear are all top notch, but where this shop really shines is with their service. All the employees we encountered were over the top friendly and helpful. In particular, Marcello was incredibly knowledgeable about all the local routes and helped my friends and I re route our bike tour to avoid snow on some of the local passes. I'm looking forward to future trail riding in the Oakridge area and will be sure to stop by the shop again. -the tribe read more

I arrived in Oakridge for Mountain Bike Oregon with a brand new (never ridden) bike. I stopped in to have grips installed and pick up a saddle. Derrek took care of me right away and even took the time to fine tune the shifting and dial in my suspension. You won't find more capable mechanics anywhere. The shop staff is always friendly and eager to share their local trail knowledge. A great LBS to support. read more
