I e come to this store in particular a couple of times before, and I e always found that they have the best prices for just about any type of beer and wine. In fact, the prices are much lower than any convenience store price. This is especially true for the beer case prices. We picked-up a case of Coors and a case of Heineken for at least 20% less than what we would normally pay at a grocery store. The selection here is also much more robust than anywhere else. They even have a cigar section of all things! I like to shop here especially for those special occasions. They always have had everything in stock that I need.

He said he came from a family of wine makers and was really knowledgeable and helpful. So last night when I had to buy a specific selection of beers and I found it at total wine, I was really excited to go . Unfortunately, maybe because I was late on a Friday night and they hated their jobs, the two ladies at the checkout aisles could not have been ruder if they tried. I had to remind myself that a rude person at a check out counter working on a Friday night instead of drinking beer with friends is really just a first world problem.

The staff is super knowledgeable without being pushy, and they always have great recommendations at different price points. The shop itself is well-organized and welcoming, with a nice selection. I highly recommend stopping by on a Friday or Saturday to check out the tasting - it makes it easy to try something new and figure out what you'll actually enjoy drinking at home and they set up so it's easy for you to pick up a bottle you enjoyed!

Doug H., the owner, recommended a white wine and a red wine-- Qupe - Chardonnay Santa Maria Valley Y Block 2022 from California for the white wine and Andrew Murray Tous Les Jours Syrah 2022 for the red wine. Both were very popular with our guests. Chain Bridge Cellars delivered three cases of each wine to our event space, and the white wine had already been chilled. Doug's expertise throughout was invaluable. He is friendly and professional, and we enthusiastically endorse using Chain Bridge Cellars for any event, whether dinner for four or dinner for 92.

As soon as we entered, General Manager Sam welcomed us like old friends. After we were seated, my wife asked if he had previously worked at The Dabney, and sure enough, that's where we recognized him from. It was great catching up as he shared what he'd been doing since then and how his dream had always been to open his own restaurant. Seeing that dream come to life made the evening feel even more special. The restaurant was busy (definitely make reservations), but we were able to enjoy cocktails while we waited for our table. My Grey Goose martini with bleu cheese olives was phenomenal and set the tone for the rest of the meal. We started with the Bison Tartare and the Ceviche. The bison tartare was leaner than traditional beef tartare, and the crispy chips added the perfect savory crunch. The ceviche was incredibly fresh and bright. For our entrées, I had the ribeye while my wife ordered the Dory. The ribeye was cooked perfectly--juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. My wife couldn't stop talking about how buttery and delicious the fish was. To finish the evening, we ordered the 100-Year Port Flight featuring 10-, 20-, 30-, and 40-year ports. Vertical tastings are such a fun way to experience how a wine evolves over time. The 40-year was absolutely outstanding, and the 20-year was another favorite. The 10-year was enjoyable but still showed its youthful character compared to the older vintages. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between upscale and relaxed. The main dining room can feel a little tight when the restaurant is full, while the bar area has a few TVs for anyone wanting to catch a game. One thoughtful touch that stood out was the women's restroom being stocked with amenities like hair ties and hair clips. We noticed they also offer a tasting menu, and after this experience, that's already on our list for our next visit. Between the outstanding hospitality, exceptional food, excellent cocktails, and welcoming atmosphere, Evelyn Rose absolutely earned five stars.

We had a lovely table for six, enjoyed that it was round and we could all have a nice conversation while dining. Our food was outstanding as well. A few recommendations of appetizers including the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese that we all loved. They are known for their homemade pastas and offered a half size portion so you could try both- couldn't pick a favorite, each different and delicious! One of guests had fish which they loved and another had the ribeye and enjoyed it as well. Don't leave without sharing a dessert- the salted honey ice cream that topped the carrot cake was beyond perfect! Can't wait to celebrate another event there!

Prices range from affordable to expensive, so there's always something great no matter what you're looking to spend. Jon is a huge part of what makes this place special. He's incredibly knowledgeable and has an amazing ability to recommend wines based on your palate. For our July 4th party, we asked him to hand‑select the wines, and his picks were spectacular. Guests were raving all night. Even when I pop in just to grab a bottle or two, Jon always has several recommendations to take home and try. His suggestions have never disappointed. And more often than not, he has a bottle or two open and is happy to pour a taste--such a fun way to explore something new. The Wine Outlet also hosts regular free wine events throughout the year, rotating between their three locations. The McLean shop has a great upstairs space dedicated to these tastings, and it's a fantastic way to learn, sip, and meet fellow wine lovers. What really sets this store apart is the sense of community. Jon knows all the regulars by name, and even if I haven't been in for a while, I'm always greeted with a warm welcome. It's the kind of place that makes you want to come back--not just for the wine, but for the experience. Highly recommend for anyone who loves great wine and even better service.
