It is especially enjoyable to visit at Christmas time, as they always have an enormous tree that is beautifully decorated, and many stunning special christmas ornaments on sale. Traditional, maybe even a bit old-fashioned, and with that comes old-fashioned excellent customer service and very polite sales assistants. The access for disabled and pushchairs is great, with wide aisles. The staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. And this store isn't expensive.

Wilkinsons is one of the best places places for bargain hunting and sell a huge range of items from…read morerazor blades to curtain poles, many of which are cheaper than other shops. They also have a lot of very cheap DIY items. When we were re-decorating our house, Wilkinsons wasn't the first store that came to mind when buying paint, light switches etc but in my experience, even though they haven't got such a large range of products they are usually cheaper than all of the big DIY stores. The staff are very polite and helpful and I have never had to wait long to pay.

They always have a huge selection of foods, snacks, drinks and sweets. The housewares section is particularly good with things like lamps, Cushions, curtains and bed sets at ridiculous prices. Home bargains isn't the kind of place that has a lasting array of stock. Their inventary is ever changing so if you see something you want but don't have the money, don't expect to go next week and they will still have it. You have to grab it while it is there. They do a lot of end of line stuff from other stores and I would guess at the moment probably have a lot of ex-Woolworths stock. I would suggest that if you have a Home bargains in your area go stock up now for birthdays and Christmas gifts or cards. Sometimes the staff can be a bit ignorant. I think they probably employ youngsters for the cheap wages but sometimes a smile would be nice. They also have a sign saying that never more than 3 to a queue but that should read never more than 3 staff on at a time

Home Bargains has to be one of the best discount stores in the UK. I have bought so many things…read morefrom there! Unlike most discount stores, most of the products are 'well known' brands. The only downside I can think of the place is that when you go back for more of the same thing, they are usually gone as product cycles are very fast. I've even bought 2 sets of leather chairs from the shop which have been just as good quality as ones people have bought for a much higher price. Thoroughly worth a look when you are near the area. Get your wallet ready and a trolley because you are going to need them!

Following weight loss my size has changed dramatically and she advised me what size was best and which style! She showed me the cami bra and it was so perfect for me I ordered another 3 online!!! If for any reason I can't find what I'm looking for instore the staff are always extremely helpful & quick to assist in placing orders, which have always arrived promptly without any trouble. The foodhall, again though small, is absolutely excellent & carries a wonderful selection of produce which is always fresh & of the best quality. Special mention should also go the the M&S café staff. Since visiting with a small child, previously in a pushchair, they have always been exceptionally helpful & have gone out of their way to assist me in anyway possible.

We could have stayed there for hours. The cafe is just that, a standard snack serving cafe, nothing outstanding but the service was exceptional. But the greatest benefit is the massive selection of women's and men's clothes, from the ordinary to top quality. Something for everyone. It might have been an 80mile round journey, but worth it and we will go again before Christmas to get a few more bargains.

It's so big when you enter that you can't even see the far walls beyond the vast sea of clothing stands in front of you, all arranged in a grid that forces you to move pac-man style through the aisles whilst dodging slow-moving pensioners on all sides. I think it's my uber-cool little sister's idea of hell. Not exactly my idea of a good time, and I'm not about to suggest it should be yours! But they do have a huge range of middle-aged-to-elderly mens and womenswear, much of it from branded labels at outlet prices (think Austin Reed, Moss Bros, Jaeger, Hobbs etc), plus things like bed linen, books, perfumes and stationery. Whilst I may have turned 30, I haven't grannyfied my wardrobe just yet - I'm actually suggesting you earn some good grandkid brownie points by bringing your nan here to browse and bargain-hunt. Yes it'll be two hours of your life you won't get back but it's well organised, saves them the stresses of the big malls, and the pensioners love it (there's always plenty of them enjoying the cafe at the back!). As well as doing something nice out of the goodness of your heart, you might just strike it lucky as I did and find one of the handful of things in the store that someone under 40 might actually wear (and my little sis approved of!). In my case, a gorge Adrianna Papell work dress reduced from its £139 RRP to a £30 outlet bargain, that I'm proudly wearing to the office to combat the back-to-work blues today. Boom :)

The mens, kids and womens clothing are downstairs and they have really good choices at low prices, if you have the time then there are some real bargains to be had. The staff are quite friendly too and will always help if you cannot see something that you want.
