Denise, Jeff and Chris came to survey her property on Thursday. Friday my mom noticed a large amount of water in her yard. She called and Denise, Jeff and Chris showed up within minutes. Used plastic sheeting to ensure they didn't make a mess. Evidently the last plumber did not seal it correctly and it took longer to fix because of the prior work performed. Lying in bed after that (after cleaning off with baby wipes, because we've got no water) we are SWEATING the price of emergency plumber service. Why does this stuff always happen on a Friday night? I mean, we like camping. We can probably make-do with no running water until Monday, right? I was shocked and thrilled to get a reply from Bruno's Plumbing within minutes of contacting them that night. And they were willing to come out the very next morning for a price that made us forget talking about which friends house to shower at this weekend. The next day, Randy and the guys clearly explained the issue and had it fixed and our water back on in no time. Impressed with their knowledge, the quality of their work, their responsiveness, and their commitment to keeping costs reasonable...I had them take a look at a quote we had done for re-piping the whole house back when we bought the place a few years ago. They beat that quote by more than $1500, threw in some extra toilet bolt tightening and hose bibs from the honey-do list...so we hired them on the spot to come back in a few days and get all of that polybutylene out of there! (And, for the record, the quote that we had was low-to-mid priced for our area and several years old. I found Bell Cow through Yelp Projects when I needed a dual hot-and-cold water spigot installed in…read morethe garage. They were the only one of the three companies who replied - responsiveness gold medal unlocked. The other two were Yelp Guaranteed and Bell Cow wasn't, but when someone actually answers you, that goes a long way. They came out for a free estimate, showed up on time, and the quote was very reasonable. Communication was smooth, and on installation day the techs were polite and efficient (I wasn't home, but my wife handled the appointment and had zero complaints there). Now, the install works, both hot and cold function exactly as intended, but cosmetically it missed the mark. The spigot doesn't sit flush and the pipes are slightly crooked. Not a deal-breaking safety issue, just one of those things where you look at it and think, "Hmm... that could've been cleaner." Functional, but visually not their strongest performance. Overall, Bell Cow is responsive, friendly, and competitively priced. I appreciate the quick communication and solid operation of the spigot. I just wish the attention to detail on the install matched the quality of their customer service. I'd use them again for straightforward work, but if aesthetics matter, I might get a second quote.
