One of three covered bridges near Turkey Run State Park is located just a short distance to the north west. Wilkins Mill Covered Bridge spans an offshoot of Sugar Creek (the offshoot is referred to as Sugar Mill Creek). The bridge is 122 feet long and the span is 102 feet.
The Burr Arch-truss structure is still in service despite being built in 1906! Note that there is no designated pull off area. The bridge uses the standard colors of Parke County bridges with red and white sides and black lettering.
From Turkey Run, the route with the best road conditions is to head west to US 41, then north about 1.7 miles to Cox Ford Road. Turn right/east onto Cox Ford Road and the bridge will be ahead of you about 750 feet.
You can also access the road via Cox Ford Road starting at SR 47, just a short distance west of Turkey Run. The road isn't as good as US 41 and has far more twists and turns, but it does pass through Cox Ford Covered Bridge along the way.
