I am beyond thrilled with my experience at this delightful dive bar. Patrons and staff were very welcoming and kind. My sister and I are both lesbians (obviously so) and we were worried that some judgement would be present but we couldn't have been more wrong. They are very inclusive and we even ended up getting some rainbow swag! Oh! Great little locals bar. Short trip from downtown but loaded with Nashville atmosphere. Two pool tables, dedicated dart room, sand volleyball out back. Burgers and wings are classic and the pizza is excellent. Great place to watch Minesota Vikings games... but why would you in Nashville? Go Titans! read more

This is a great locals hang out that was very welcoming to wifey and I on a late Sunday night "last bar of the day" search. A good friend of ours recommended Wilhagan's as his neighborhood bar where everyone knows your name (thanks Benny!!). It is a big, small place with multiple rooms including one 6 foot pool table -- 11, yes 11 steel tip dart boards that were so well lit, placed and taken care of that you really knew you had found someone that truly was a darter (as I am from my days back in Chicago). Out back they had a full size sand vollyball court, bocche, cornhole and a lots of seating. This place must be a blast on summer weekends. The staff was friendly, recommending we get the pitcher which was a better $2beer ratio (gotta luv that) ... and crazy enough it was $5 for the pitcher!! Good enough local draft selection, and full range of liqueur, shots etc. We didn't have any food, next time. The best ones are the ones off the beaten path! Wilhagan's is your top notch dive bar that includes 2 for 1 happy hour wells, great drink prices and delicious wings. Having trouble choosing between darts or pool, then why not go outside for some volleyball or cornhole. The people that come here are regulars and will welcome you right on in to the family. I have to totally agree with the majority of reviews here. Wilhagan's is a great "dive" bar, in the best sense of the word, with an incredibly friendly staff and amazing food (Wings and pizza are best around and burgers and sandwiches are delicious as well.) And you won't beat the prices anywhere in Nashville. The one thing I would add that has yet to be mentioned is that for the last 27 years Wilhagan's has been the home of the only official Minnesota Vikings Fan Club in Nashville, the Nashville Norsemen. If you are in town from Minnesota or just a fan, Wilhagan's is the place to watch the Minnesota Vikings. The place overflows with purple, gjallarhorns and die hard fans. I can't speak for the food, but we did see the chef carrying HOMEMADE DOUGH out to the BBQ for the burgers. The locals said the food was pretty incredible, especially the burgers and wings. However, the NONLOCALS were treated with TLC and were officially greeted by multiple Vikings fans. Also cheap for what you get. Our favorite and most passionate greeter was Tony, the President of the Vikings club. He was a treasure and so excited to see those he knew, and those who were new, there at his bar. The bartender, also an absolute treasure. I would accidentally make eye contact with her and she'd come rushing over to make sure there wasn't anything else we needed. She even remembered to bring me a lime for every drink after the time I asked for her drink once. They have TEN DART BOARDS in the back area inside, a beach volleyball court (a very nice one, bocce ball court, and most important CHARACTER. We saw the outside after enjoying the inside for a couple hours and we're bummed we didn't enjoy the 70 degree Tennessee winter day out there watching the game on their big TV. If you're lucky enough to watch the game here, GO! If you're lucky enough to enjoy a drink at this divey bar, GO! One of the highlights from my trip to TN! read more

Jerk wings, jerk wings, jerk wings...Seriously delicious spicy goodness that equally burns your mouth as it sends some kind of message to your brain to eat more. I really wish this place was closer...take those insane wings and add excellent drinks, friendly service and darts and you have a very memorable and fun spot. read more

Wilhagan's is about as dive bar as it gets with little surprises around every corner. Jam packed with lots of entertaining things to do, on a sunny afternoon you can partake in a good ole game of corn hole, or try your volleyball skills on their sand volleyball court. If you rather stay inside close to your food and your beer you could try your aim in a game of darts. Mondays they have corn hole and volleyball tournaments, Tuesdays is trivia night, Wednesdays Wilhagan's is home to dart leagues, Thursdays it hosts free pool, ladies night, and volleyball games, Fridays drink specials run until 10 pm, Saturday brings karaoke, and finally Sundays is writers night and there are drink specials from 5pm - 10pm. Their food is slightly above average bar food with their jerk wings heading the pack. Their servers tend to be pretty friendly, however their bartenders, not so much. Being a dive bar and all, I wouldn't expect anything great from their cocktails, but they can pour a beer. It's also home of the Nashville Men's Rugby Club socials so if you stop in there on a Saturday during their season you might be able to join in some rugby debauchery. Now, its biggest downfall: it's absolutely horrendously smoky. Wilhagan's is a friend's favorite bar, so I do tend to end up there at her behest, but usually wake up feeling as if my lungs have collapsed. If it wasn't so smoky I would say that Wilhagan's is about as good as it gets in the dive bar department, but alas it is super smoky, so it loses major points. It would get 4 stars, but the smoke made 1 star die of a lung related disease, and as such only 3 stars were left alive and breathing. read more

Ahhh, the Winchester. A friend of my husband's told him about this bar several years ago. They went a few times then my husband got the rest of our group to go. Ours friends spend a lot more time there now than we do (trivia, poker, etc) but I miss our nights there. There is such a mix of people that frequent Wilhagen's and seriously, the place is like Cheers. There was a period of about a year that I didn't go and the first time back the manager, Marie still knew who I was! The smoke definitely was a problem but the past few times I've gone it hasn't bothered me. They have some great drink specials and the most wonderful bar food. Ben, you said it best. Wonderful dive bar in the middle of no where (but close to the interstate!). We always sit at the bar, get two orders of the hot wings, and I have a couple of drinks while we wait. Even though get the DirecTV NFL Sunday package, have to keep going back on Sunday's to watch the Vikings! One reason is the ALWAYS good food.
