Music Sunday afternoon! Puppies getting groomed in Versailles and my chick and I sipping some great wine and atmosphere here at Wildside! The service has always been top shelf and the wine selection is really nice and varied! We enjoy the vibe here summer and winter too. Always comfortable here! Looking for an afternoon to chill and enjoy some laid back music and terrific wine, come on over to the Wildside. You'll love it like we do.
Wildside Winery was a fun stop along the Kentucky wine scene. They have quite a fee wines that have been aged in whiskey barrels to amplify the taste. They offer flights of (4) for $8 or (8) for $16. Our group opted to do two (4) wine tastings. The fan favorite was the BBR wine which also had a sweet wine version to taste. The wines were good hut we did not purchase any bottles to take home. The staff member was extremely kind and gave us (1) additional tasting complimentary.
We've come here a few times over the years. Their wines tend to be on the sweeter side (but they do have a few dry's). We really, really enjoy their wines. They have some unique ones like Paw-Paw and Walnut that are very good. They were busy when we were their but the staff did a great job trying to keep up. The winery is also beautiful- they have a cozy conversation nook and an expansive back room. This is a must stop if you find yourself in the Lexington area.
Came to the winery during their Christmas Market fest, had about 10 different vendors. They have various wines to choose from, likely you'll find something you like. The place was packed, but still managed to get our drinks pretty quickly and grabbed a table inside. They had a lot of tables outside, but it was too cold. Half the vendors were inside and the live music was also inside, not a lot of attraction to stay outside. Looks like a cute place to visit in the summer.
I hadn't been here in a decade so needless to say I was happy to finally return and find an even larger selection of wine plus a few food options. The charcuterie platter is a perfect combo with a flight of 8 wines. There were so many wine options I wasn't sure where to start. Luckily there is a nice selection of both dry and sweet. The exotic sweet wines were quite interesting and I really liked the "paw paw" fruit wine as a nice Appalachian rarity. The best dry wines in my opinion were the bourbon barrel reserves which were Cabernet aged in bourbon barrels. There is even a double oaked cab! If you like cats, there is a beautiful friendly cat named Frankie to greet you too. This is a great stop if you're in the Versailles area.
This is a definite must do when driving through central Kentucky ....enjoy a beautiful horse country scenic drive getting to the winery then settle in for a wide variety of wine tastings. You can now order a charcuterie board to enjoy filled with high end cheeses. Ease of access, parking is easy and you have your choice of inside or outside seating
Wildside is one of my absolute favorite wineries! Not only is it easy to find, it has such a great atmosphere! One of my favorite things to do is to get a flight of 8 samples and split a charcuterie board with friends. I'm a sweet wine fan and Wildside has one of the best varieties of sweet wine in the area! Fearless is a must-try! Definitely follow their Facebook page because they do tons of events like live music and charcuterie/cookie decorating workshops. This is a fun place for a day date or girls day!
We were on our way to check into our hotel for a weekend wedding. When we were traveling my wife said what about this winery. I said sure, I read good reviews about it and I'm up for attending. We arrive and are greeted to sit where we would like. We have an opportunity to choose the wines that we want to sample. Everything was unique, good and refreshing. This was a unique stop, they have unique wines. For example I purchased a bottle of walnut wine. It was incredibly good. We had a glass of wine here as we enjoyed this place. They have a cat named Frank, and a dog which I do not recall his/her name. But both were very friendly furry animals. The winery is small inside, but they have much to offer. Recommend visiting this place again. The woman that greeted us (I think Mary) she was amazing and provided us with recommendations on areas to visit locally for distilleries. This was a great find.
Visited Wildside for the first time to watch a local band and try some wines. They have a great selection to choose from and the wine flight prices seemed too good to be true. During our tasting a worker came over with additional bottles of wine and made a few mixes for us to try as well. I'd like to go back and give them a try when it's warm as well so we can experience the nice little patio they have. The only downside was we had a few hiccups with service, one of our flight glasses was completely empty and another was totally wrong. They did fix the issue quickly and without hesitation.
We stopped in for a wine tasting on a busy Saturday afternoon. We paid $6 for four tastings. We loved the presentation. The cards behind the tasting glass made it easy to remember our favorites and to make our purchases. We tend to lean more to the sweet side and we found plenty of wines here that we enjoyed.
The wine was delicious, the charcuterie board was delectable - especially paired with the wines. Wherever the ingredients come from for the charcuterie boards -- CHEF'S KISS :) We ended up buying an entire bottle of "fearless". The atmosphere was amazing. I will rave about this place for months I'm sure!
Beautiful grounds, dog friendly, okay wine and terrific people. I was a bit leary in that they weren't very strict with cleanliness with these crazy times and Covid. I admit I am very paranoid. Other people there were just fine with the way things were. Menu was laminated and obviously not clean. Pens for marking said menus were also not clean. Social distancing was not enforced. If that doesn't bother you then give it a try if you happen to be in the neighborhood and be sure and give Frank the cat a pet or two!
We stopped today for wine tasting & ran into a couple other yelper from Lexington. It's been years since we stopped & place has changed tremendously. They had a wedding going on so we didn't get see al of it. Everyone was friendly & helpful.

When asked my favorite place in the world, from now on I'm going to say Wildside. It is literally the ideal getaway. Tucked away in the sprawling bluegrass hills of Kentucky, hidden between horse farms, you'll find Wildside. Complete with resident winery cats, books, local art, and community, Wildside literally has everything. I visited for a yoga event, which they host regularly, and did a wine tasting. All of the wines were delicious, but the Riesling was my favorite and I went home with a bottle. The tasting is for 4 wines of your choosing & includes a complimentary glass for you to keep. read more
Nice winery just a short drive from Lexington. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and had a nice experience. There was live music and a few vendors on-site. I did a wine tasting (you choose 6 wines to sample). The sommelier was really knowledgeable about the wines and made the experience enjoyable. In addition to the tasting, I had a sangria slushie that was perfect on the warm, early Fall afternoon. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall nice experience. read more

Wildside offers markets, events, music and so much now. It has quickly turned into a favorite of mine. They have patio seating, indoor seating and covered outdoor seating. They offer flights, glasses, and bottles. The service is always top notch and friendly. On Sundays, they offer Sangria Sunday and music in the afternoon. Perfect for a lazy Sunday. read more

WOW! What an awesome winery! Loved their wines and staff was SUPER friendly!!! Wildside Winery is near Keeneland Race Track, Woodford Reserve and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Their Wine Tasting (light flight) is $3.00 which you pick 6 wines of your choice (1 oz pours) or you can do Full flights: two ounces each of 6 wines for $6 served together on a tray. Cheese trays and dark chocolate pairings available as well. Wildside Winery makes their own wines on a 30 acre farm in Versailles, Kentucky (Woodford County). They are certified organic and still use minimal pesticides. Each year they plant more grapes until today they have over eleven acres of grapes, three acres of fruit trees and 1.5 acres of berries. The tasting room was very small but we sat at the bar. My preference was dry reds so this is what I tried: -Chambourcin: Kentucky grown Great flavor with cherry finish, color, medium body and smooth tannins like a Pinot Noir. -$15 -Zinthiana: A hybrid of Red Zinfandel, a strong berry and spicy wine grown in Kentucky - $19 Absolutely hands down my favorite wine from them that I purchased a bottle to take home. -Cabernet Sauvignon: Great flavor, full body, complex dry tannins, make this a world class quality Cab. -$24 -BBR- Black Barrel Reserve: Cabernet Sauvignon/ Chambourcin blend aged in Woodford Reserve Bourbon Barrels for over a year - smooth $19 -KY Cab Franc: Our driest red wine from our vineyard. Estate grown, full, dry, unbeatable flavor, cellar or decant, or enjoy it's dry tannins now. -$19 -Petite Sirah Our biggest, fullest bodied, inky black, most complex tannin dry red wine. You will not be disappointed if you like big dry red wines. -$24 Besides the wine tastings, Wildside has events, books weddings/special events, wine membership, and you can even shop online. I really enjoyed my time here and had a great experience. Everything was perfect - the taste and quality of their wines and excellent service. I will definately return! A must try and stop if you are on the bourbon trail. read more
Wildside is a cute winery on a farm near rolling hills and horse fences in the heart of Kentucky. The tasting room building is small, with a little bar area, some barrels on display, a table of wine-related trinkets for purchase, and a few decorated tables with seating. Lights on strings and chandeliers made from recycled wine bottles adorn the ceiling. Outside is a beautiful patio area covered in vines where you can soak up the sun and wine. It's $6 a flight of wine off the tasting menu - great deal! I like the way the tasting menu is set-up: you can choose from five different flights (of six wines) ranging from dry & smooth to "Sweetie Pie" (sweet wines) to suit your taste. I love my fruit and sugar, so I selected the sweetest flight, as did another person at our table. Someone else choose one of the dryer flights and my husband just enjoyed a beer. I wish I could say I enjoyed the tasting, but unfortunately, I didn't. After a couple sips of each, I ended up pouring out every wine they offered into the little disposal container on the table. I wasn't the only one at our table to do that - we all poured out our wines after each taste. None of us drank one that we loved. The only one from my flight I liked enough to finish was the Blackberry wine. What a huge bummer. At least they had a delicious sangria along with soda, beer, and snacks to supplement the tasting. We didn't tour the winery or the vineyards. I'm not sure if they offer tours (they probably do), but we didn't really have a reason to stay after the disappointing tasting. At least that's one (and my first!) winery checked off the Kentucky Wine Trail. read more
Wildside Winery, located somewhat off the grid in Woodford County, is a small, friendly winery. After a mere ten years in the business, they've received numerous awards, one of which was for their Bourbon Barrel Cab. I enjoyed this one. They have a relatively large selection of wines considering the size of the winery. Take a ride out to Wildside and enjoy a glass. read more

This place was a very cool experience. We ordered two flights of 8 wines each 1oz ($8 each or 4 wines for $5) so we got to try a good majority of their wines. We weren't big fans of the "traditional" wines per say like Chardonnay or Cabernet BUT we LOVED the fruity wines (which is not our usual stride so very much worth the try). I've attached a photo of our favorites we tried. Also it's pet friendly here and we loved resident animals Frankie the cat and the doggie (can't remember the name). They also have a cheese platter if you want something to snack on. read more

The service in the tasting room was great! Friendly, knowledgeable and hospitable, they made our visit great! We did 2 tastings (16 total wines) and enjoyed exploring all of the creative options. Several bottles will be making the road trip home with us! read more

Winery is located on a 30 acre farm near Versailles, KY. We stopped in here while we were in Kentucky visiting family. We needed cranberry wine for our cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving. This was the only winery in the area that had cranberry wine listed on their website. The wine list had many dry and sweet selections. It took us a few minutes to decide what to taste. You can taste 8 wines for a small tasting fee. We picked 7 of the dry wines and the cranberry wine. I can find one or two wines at most wineries that I like. I liked all of the wines I tried here. My favorite was BBR which stands for Bourbon Barrel Red. It is a Cabernet aged in Woodford Reserve Barrels. It was so good we bought two bottles. The owners Neil and Rachel were very friendly. They showed us around the inside of the winery. We got to see the barrels the BBR was aging in. We didn't go outside because it was raining. We could see the pavilion out back for special events. They grow their own grapes, berries, apples, and peaches on the land. If you are a wine lover like me this is a must stop. You will find something you like with all the choices. read more

We were visiting from Dallas and stopped by on a Sunday. They have so many wine choices that we really enjoyed. I love the presentation of the flights! Go for the 8 samples because you will want to taste as many as you can. They have a good variety. Our favorite was the Bourbon Barrel Reserve. Service is very friendly and they really want to help you find wines you like. read more

Imagine if you will a local winery on the outskirts of Versailles Kentucky. You pull into the gravel parking and step out and to a see a small building straight ahead and vines to the left. You go onto the porch and into the tasting room. You have entered "The Wildside Zone". OK, I've just aged myself but that's alright. I think that most people will still get the reference. Small and warm, the tasting room is filled with wine related decorations. The tastings are done by choosing from a very nicely organized listing by dry/sweet and each wine has a very well put together description of its flavor profile. Crackers were provided for palate cleansing between tastings. The staff were very friendly and the owners were also. read more
