It did also have a sort of weird layout where it looked like the ovens were maybe up some stairs in the back but that is not really anything that the customers need to know. After looking over the cupcakes in the display case my wife and I decided to split the lemon and blueberry cupcake which had a blueberry filling and also the salted caramel one. We ended up taking these home and then eating them later in the night. They were both decent cupcakes but the opinions of my wife and myself differed as to which one was better. I preferred the salted caramel as it had a nice strong caramel taste while she preferred the lemon and blueberry which I thought needed to be stronger. In the end though we were satisfied and happy to have been able to try more than one flavor. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. Buying the cupcakes was a breeze and the flavors of them were pretty good as well.

We had the cheese and bacon scone and felt quite impressed with how much it tasted like bacon and cheddar cheese while maintaining the texture of a scone. It was the first time ever that I tried a savory rather than sweet scone and it offered something I didn't expect along with the comforting expectation you get with a scone. The people who work here are super friendly and welcoming and let us sample something they didn't even have on display. Everybody won, with me getting a vegetarian breakfast sandwich and my partner getting some sliced ham to add to her portion. All told, this is an excellent establishment for a low key outing while you're visiting Ligonier. The hours are extensive, so it fills just about any breakfast/lunch/snack type need. A couple side notes I appreciate. Bittersweet's marketing team deserves. Ton of credit - they have some awesome swag available for purchase. And finally, check out the story about Bittersweet's roots, its commitment to addiction recovery/support, and the owner's son's story/passing. Nice landscaping provides a near perfect setting to enjoy a cup of coffee. I ended up getting a simple red eye. It was delicious. I understand they brew Iron Star coffee out of West Mifflin. The same Iron Star that owns Coffee Tree shops. If this coffee is any indication, I think I need to visit Coffee Tree again. It's been a while. Anyway, I had a really good cup of coffee and a peanut butter and jelly cookie. No complaints on the cookie, but I wish they had some breakfast sweets like scones or cinnamon rolls. Next time I'll try some real food. Just be aware that things are a little pricey here.
