Southbound Coffee was literally right up the road, so we stopped by and checked them out. Immediately, staff was very happy to have us there, and asked if I was making a video when they saw me filming their exterior. I told them about my cortado thing and they were really excited to be next on my list. We had a brief chat about our favorite coffee spots before I scooched over for the next customer in line. I ordered the cortado and the Spellbound, and my sister got a Spice Spice Baby, and a Mexican Mocha for my brother in law. The cortado (despite being served in a paper cup) was pretty mild and nutty, with good viscosity. I really liked the aftertaste and it was somehow even better when I got home. The spellbound was quite enchanting. I thought I tasted lavender but the flavor description was Mexican vanilla and ube. Curiouser and curiouser! Regardless, it was light, delicious, and ethereal. I really enjoyed our visit to Southbound Coffee and I look forward to my next visit.

I think I was the oldest person there, including the folks running the truck. Due to the line there was a bit of a wait but it wasn't terrible. They have two tent-like covers and two sets of tables and chairs, and even though the tents didn't provide shade, the shadows they cast did, keeping my pup and I cool. I ordered the cortado, a PBJ Latte (an August special), and a pup cup. The cortado was very good. It didn't have that paper cup flavor, By the time I brought it home, it had fully combined, so there was no foam to sip through, which made me happy. It was a very smooth, mild cortado. The PBJ latte was very good, and I hope that ends up a permanent menu item because I would absolutely make the trip back just for it. The coffee itself had peanut butter flavor, and the cold foam had a raspberry jam flavor. Mix them together and it reminds me of my favorite after school snack with a glass of milk. The logo is also cute - a greyhound is a nice mascot (though perhaps not quite as indicative as to how fast they get drinks out... but again, the lines are a testament to how good their drinks are). It's nice that they offer lactose free milk for no additional charge. Both of our coffees were great! I love that the vanilla latte isn't overly sweet. It's a cute setup with multiple food trucks and tables to sit at outside if weather permits. The service was very friendly and they gave us some complimentary theory coffee stickers since it was our first visit! I'll definitely be back this fall/ winter to try some hot drinks.
