Armed with two split mini air conditioners, The Honey Bean keeps staff and patrons cool by also slinging really neat drinks. I'm currently on a health journey so instead of trying a seasonal latte, I opted for the cortado and a spinach and artichoke quiche. Before we get into the food I wanted to acknowledge the layout of the shop and the fact that there's a flower shop cohabitating with this spot. It makes for a very unique experience and the next time I visit (cause there will be a next time!) I'd like to buy myself a small bouquet. I think it would brighten up my apartment. Staff? Super friendly. The guy that took my order made nice small talk, and when I said it was my first time he got very excited. I was so pleased to see many people stop by to celebrate with them. The trailer is so cute. Their whole aesthetic is so nostalgic. They have a red retro fridge in the trailer and their merch gives high school varsity vibes. They sell shirts, sweaters, stickers, etc, and of course, their coffee and matcha. Most trailers and trucks will serve your drink in a to-go cup but when I ordered my cortado they offered to serve it in a ceramic cup! How cool is that? It made my experience much more enjoyable, because cortados tend to pick up that paper cup flavor. Their espresso-based drinks are as delicious as I remember, and I also ordered an iced Pooh Bear. It's just as tasty iced as it is hot. I can't wait for Calico Coffee to thrive in their new location. If this is around your stomping grounds, do yourself a favor and come visit. (He said vanilla syrup for a touch of sweetness, and I think they also added extra earl grey syrup, which they make themselves!) And you know what? It tasted exactly like fruity pebbles!
