Took a visit to High Five Meadery at Cella Winery off the beaten trail near Route 66! We tried every Mead available and enjoyed a great conversation with the Winery and Vineyard owner, Micah. The Meads were a lot of fun, very fruit and spice flavor forward. They get the honey from flagstaff, the one traditional mead was great. There were a few Pyments, which are Mead/Wine hybrids which makes a ton of sense here as they have the fresh fruit available! The double Black Cherry Vanilla Pyment was my favorite out of the bunch. Also really enjoyed the Them Apples, Tropical and both Pumpkin Spiced Meads. The tasting room is fun and inviting, lots of local art and crafty Kingman and Wine themed souvenirs. The owner gave us a quick tour of the fermentation area and told us quite a bit about their process, the area and future plans. We had such a good time that we want to plan another trip back to try the wines and take a bit more time. Plenty of bottled meads ready to go, we grabbed a few black cherry, mango and Them Apples to go, Fantastic Experience! Definitely worth planning a stop here on your next trip through Kingman. read more

Don't cut yourself short ...make the drive to Cella Winery, Carlos (proprietor & winemaker) has been in the wine industry with his family his entire life. Carlos is a third generation Argentinian winemaker ...for those familiar with Doffo Winery (Temecula, Ca) Carlos makes very similar wines. Standouts: Merlot Cab Malbec Winner goes to "2015 Private Reserve Malbec" ...they were ALL sincerely great, although their Malbec was special. SOOO DELICIOUS!! IF we would had known their was a legit winemaker in Kingman we would have paid Cella Winery a visit long ago! When in Kingman and a lover of wine...this should be added to the list of places to visit. I will admit, I wasn't exactly sure what kind of wines could be made in Arizona and if they could produce anything worth drinking...Well we were pleasantly surprised. The service here was great, we chatted with the owner, mostly about soccer and but also about wine. The two things I love in life. As for the wines, everything was pretty good. While the Merlot was a favorite of ours, we really liked the Malbec. read more

I went with my uncle and father to Cella Winery in November 2018. I was the DD, while they enjoyed tasting the wines. (I tried them at home and loved Gia/Gina Mia the best!!) The winemaker is absolutely delightful, entertaining, and helpful. He and my dad ended up discussing how to make spaghetti sauce, and because of this, we ended up going home and making spaghetti. Mr. Cella explained the process of winemaking clearly and made it easy to understand. The wines were fantastic and utterly delicious. My dad doesn't like sherry at all and ended up LOVING the sherry here. The wines are made Italian style, which is quite refreshing when we're used to Central Coast CA and Napa Valley wines. I used to live on the coast near all the wineries and I have to say, I like these wines from Cella more than many wineries near Paso Robles and Napa Valley. We got lost on the way there. USE WAZE TO GET THERE. We used iPhone maps, the maps in Chevy trucks, and Google maps. All except Waze sent us out to literal sand and dirt roads that dead end into wild desert. The winery does look like you're walking into the side garage door, but once you walk in, it's a very nice wine tasting room. You don't realize you're in the house's garage. Definitely a family favorite now! (And I don't like wines. Gina/Gia Mia is now my absolute favorite.) 5 out of 5 would recommend. read more

We drove down from Vegas to try the two wineries outside Kingman after reading great reviews. Reviews were right on the money. Cella is a Napa Valley style building, very surprising in the middle of the desert. First class experience tasting the wines and visiting with Carlos, the owner. I guess it's kind of hard to leave a bad review because everyone was very nice and well if you're going to go wine tasting it's kinda hard to get mad. We came for one of the wine tours and my wife and sister said you can't go wine tasting without wine tasting. So we get to the counter and Don Carlos was the best. He told us about his history with the company and after working their since a young man, he enjoys his position now. He explained the differences of the wines it was burst of flavor and I was so mind blown. Almost felt like blasphemy doing it. It was a fun experience and even though I don't drink I'm sure as much as we drank and as fast as we did that didn't help haha. But it was all within the wine tasting menu in what you order for the 5 bucks to try different wines. My wife, sister and mother enjoyed herself very much especially with Carlos assisting her in Spanish. Make her feel very comfortable. Popped in unannounced after confusing this winery for another, further down the road. Carlos welcomed us in and treated us kindly as if we were old friends. His merlots are highly recommended. The dessert merlot from his own vines was phenomenal, but be prepared for some heavy earth tones from the other kingman grown grapes. A lovely touch of Italy in the middle of the desert. read more

The only reason I gave it five stars is because I could not give it six. Coming from the state of Washington, we taste great wines often. A truly amazing wine experience. In part because the wine was so darn good but mainly because the owner/winemaker Carlos was sweet, knowledgable and made us feel special. Stopped in on a rainy Friday in January and ended up very pleased that we had. Owner Carlos was a modest, gracious host and shared bits of information about his family and background as well as his wines. He explained how he had come to begin growing grapes there and why it is such a quality location for vineyards. We really are not fans of white wines, but the ones he served as part of our tasting were quite good. The reds really shone, though, and they testify to his dedication to making wines that are smooth from start to finish. We will return, and highly recommend that anybody visiting the area make time to stop here. read more

We recently moved to Kingman, AZ and were pleasantly surprised to find this winery. We've visited a few times, the first time we tasted the wines and then return visit to purchase more of the wine that we tasted. If you are in the Kingman area you have to put this one on your list, you won't be disappointed! read more

Visitors beware!!!! If you are planning a trip/run to this winery and are part of a custom car, sports car, vintage car group, or motorcycle tour group be very careful if you add this Winery to your itinerary. Access is via a 1.2 mile long dirt road. The dirt is extremely fine and 2 to 3 inches deep in places plus the route is littered with thousands of small rocks. Our cars were a complete mess when we got there. Parking is very limited, there really isn't a tour at all. It is basically a small winery and appears that their main attraction is you sell you wine or their wine tasting service. If you look them up on gokingman.com there is absolutely no mention of the fact that it is a very dirty and dusty trip. When we complained to the staff they were very cavalier and displayed a "so what, it's no big deal" attitude. My advice, when you get to the end of the paved section of the road it "turn around and find a more suitable destination!!! read more

Had a wonderful experience at Cella Winery, Carlos was very knowledgeable and helpful (New to wine tasting). We came away with a whole case of different wines, my personal favorite was the 2915 Merlot late harvest, such a great wine with desert or by its self. read more

Closed. We drove the 6 miles off the main road to enjoy some wine. The website said they were open until 6 on Sunday. I called and got a regular voicemail and figured they were busy so we took the detour. When we arrived at the gate, it was locked. They had a tiny sign taped to the board saying they were closed for the week. It seems that they have a great location, but it is out of the way for guests (some of the way it was even a dirt road). Because it is so far out, they should advertise closing better (i.e. recording when you call the number). We are bummed we didn't get to try it and that we spent 30 extra minutes on a detour that led no where. read more
