Staff were very friendly. Not too busy. Ordered at the counter and got a seat inside. The potato soup was creamy and cheesy with a good flavor. Would've liked it if the soup was in a bowl instead of plastic tupperware for dining in, but I guess it's convenient if you take some to-go. For $12.95, this was a tasty meal!

Cambridge market and Cafe has intensified my craving for Brussels sprouts. If you like your…read morebrussels sprouts firm like little hard al dente balls of cabbage, then these won't be for you. These are cooked until they are very soft, mushy and so full of seasonings and flavorful that I think a small child would like them. Hence, my review is not just about Brussels sprouts. Although Cambridge Market has had to increase their prices in the last few years, they are still competitive. One of my favorite things to get is the four veggie plate; however, I had never ordered them to go before. Today's order prompted me to take a few minutes and write a review. You get your choice of four veggies or salads along with your choice of roll or cornbread (which I opt out on). The portions, -- especially when compared to fast food restaurants such as Popeye's mashed potatoes where you get maybe 4 tablespoons of instant potatoes with 2 tablespoons of gravy on them -- are profoundly different. Cambridge Market has real mashed potatoes and yummy gravy. (I am not completely adverse to instant potatoes, but I am adverse to paying for a restaurant side dish that has a quality and portion of a frozen TV dinner.) Cambridge market knows what they are doing for sure with my four favorites: Brussels sprouts, lima beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, and their crisply-sweet broccoli salad. Another menu item -- my friend's favorite-- Is their Manhattan style roast beef on bread with mashed potatoes in the middle. I was pleased that the young lady who took my order was polite on the phone (and in person), I was pleased that I was not charged for an accompanying glass of ice water, and I was pleased that my order had the required utensils and napkins in the bag. My total was $10.60 for all. My picture may be in here sideways, but I'm not going to risk losing the novel. I just wrote.

A great wing spot is hard to find in BG, and I visited Wing Station BG hoping they are what I've…read morebeen looking for. The Good: Staff friendliness - The guy at the counter was super friendly and it felt genuine. Just the type of person you want representing your restaurant. Sauce - I got the basic Buffalo sauce for my first try and it was very good. I was told it's made in-house. Fries - They were outstanding! Fresh cut, lightly breaded and thick. Atmosphere - Very nice, but could use some more space. They did a great job with the space they have, but don't expect to get a seat. The Bad(ish): Wait - Took about 25 minutes, but it was fresh and tasty Sauce Options - You can't get two different sauces if you get 10 wings, which can be done at many other wing restaurants, so I was limited to trying only 1 flavor. Wings - They were a little soggy and could have been more crisp. I'll ask for well done next time. Online Ordering - The website says you can order online but when I tried it would not work so I had to order takeout onsite. Neutral: Price - I wouldn't say it's a super good deal, but it won't break the bank. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and the positives definitely outweighed any negatives. It's ALMOST to the amazing level, with the sogginess of the wings keeping it from 5 stars, but I would go 4.5 stars if Yelp allowed it. It is better than any other wing restaurant in BG and I'm looking forward to trying other sauces in the future.

I visited Slim Chickens in Bowling Green for the first time yesterday and left with mixed feelings…read more The atmosphere reminded me a bit of Raising Cane's--but with wings and salads on the menu, which was a nice twist. When I walked in, I was greeted by what looked like a young teenager at the register. He was polite, but when I asked whether the wings were breaded or naked (since I'm trying to stick to a restrictive diet), he wasn't sure and couldn't give me a clear answer. That was a little surprising since it seems like something the staff should be familiar with. I ordered the 8-piece buffalo wings and specifically asked for no fries or bread. I was given a table place card and a drink cup, and everything moved along pretty smoothly after that. However, when my food was brought to the table, it still came with fries and bread--both of which I couldn't eat. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely disappointing since I had asked ahead of time. Service overall was just okay--not terrible, not great. The wings themselves were actually really good, which redeemed the experience a bit. I might give them another try, but next time I'll probably double-check my order when it arrives.

I brought home some for kids to try and they said "raising canes has nothing on these tenders. Probably the best ever- even reheated." But the star of the show. Totally surprise was the fried mushrooms. Batter wasn't thick like most restaurants, which hides the flavor of the mushrooms. Legit. The best fried mushrooms I've ever had. I just wish the had a dipping sauce for the mushrooms. Maybe they do.?? Ranch worked well but yeah.. these are the best. Fries were fine. Nothing special. Ranch and blue cheese were really good.
