I've been staying here for about a month now and everyone here seems to be super respectful, we get plenty of visitors and they all say the same thing, that it's a super nice, hidden spot with a beautiful view of the mountain range, plenty of chickens and even emus! If you're looking to rent, boondock (dry camping), or even just stay a night or 2 you have the option for full hookups, washer and dryers and public restrooms with a couple showers, plenty of area to explore and enjoy your stay. read more

We were traveling and needed a place for one night. Thinking this is a "resort" is a very long stretch. It's adjacent to about 10,000 +cows at a feed lot so flies are a big issue. The girl in the office was friendly and did move our reservation up a night with no issue. There are lots of full time residents. If the wind was blowing it would be a dust bowl. It's all dirt and ants were an issue. For one night passing through it was fine but definitely not my first choice in the future. There are signs of upgrades being made and it was not far from the 10 fwy. The spaces are nice and large. read more

We had a very bad experience at this RV park. We stayed here in February of 2023 and about 2 weeks into staying there we starting getting sick to our stomachs and I got a rash that was very painful. I had told Janelle and so she moved us to a different spot thinking it was some sort of bird flea or something from a group of trees close to spot F. About 3 days into moving to the other RV spot my husband became very sick to his stomach as well as myself along with my rash worsening. I had told Janelle I thought we were going to have to leave due to becoming sick there. At that time she informed us that if we left we would not be able to get a refund of the monthly rate we opted for, after paying the weekly rate on our initial booking since we were visiting family in the area and the monthly rate would have allowed us to spend less money and visit family a bit longer. Was really upset that we had to cut our visit short due to this. At that point we attempted to stay, but absolutely had to leave a week later because my skin was literally burning with some sort of odd rash happening. During our stay, the water on the property went out and we were without water. Also our .1 micron water filter got clogged up within 2-3 days due to the amount of crap that was being filtered out from the water there. The RV park is about 2 miles from a cow farm with 1000's of cows that looked to be sitting in their own feces with barely no room to move and with the crazy high winds in AZ we could smell the cow poop in the air. We thought that this too may have been making us ill as we do like to sit outside of our RV and enjoy nature. I was not told up front about no refunds on a monthly rate and it was nowhere on their website or anything. I received no paperwork other than a generic office type hand written receipt from a receipt book. This may have swayed our decision in just opting to stay at the weekly rate vs doing the one month rate. We were told that we would be getting a refund on the deposit for the electric though but to this day we have not received a single penny after contacting them 3 times plus a dispute through my bank which the RV park denied. We went to a Dr after our stay there where we were diagnosed with parasites that most likely came from contaminated soil or water maybe caused by the nearby cow farm or unsanitary conditions at the park perhaps. In the second monthly spot we were in I noticed odd little white worm type bugs that were on and around the electric box and the waste water tank at that RV spot. All in all it was one of the worst experiences of our lives. We also had to sanitize our travel trailer not to mention having to deal with having a parasite in not only myself and my husband bodies, but our young daughter as well. We spent over $1000 to get infected, sick and ripped off on the deposit we were at least entitled to. I have the pictures to prove how much we used on the electric meter and we should have gotten most of our deposit back. It sure would be nice if they could at least give it to us after everything we went through. It took me this long to finally realize I need to let others know and write a review of our experience so others can decide whether they want to do business with this RV park. read more

I was scared to stay here after reading all the horrible reviews, but it was actually lovely. Friendly service, clean bathrooms with hot water and a general store with a nice beer selection. The only problem was the smell. The entire area has a cow manure smell that lasts for miles. I could barely leave my rv in the morning it was that bad. It was the only rv park open and we are grateful they were able to accommodate us so thank you! I also enjoyed watching kids run around with Billy goats in the morning. read more

Careful paying at this place, this was our go to park when visiting my son in Maricopa, we had stayed here many times even though it smells of manure from the dairy down the road, I made a reservation, we were gonna stay 5 days, reservation made, then a week later I had to cancel, called them to cancel and asked for my card to be refunded, girl said ok, time goes by no refund , called an additional 2 time got the same answer, opened a dispute with my C.C. company which after sometime sided with the RV park who claimed it was policy, which no where on their web site or conversations with office this was made clear they kept all 200 bucks I would have gladly forfeited the first nights deposit, don't pay for more than one night even if staying 3 weeks, pay as you stay never let them know how long you are gonna stay that way you can leave anytime you want with out losing money. Also, since we don't stay there anymore we have been to different parks in the area And they LAUGH when I tell them we used to stay there, they actually laugh at them. POORLY RUN PARK WITH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

I'm my opinion this place is not worth stay at. No ADA Compliance for public restrooms/showers. Water went down while where there and then the dryers wouldn't dry because my guess out of gas. Park needed a good landscaping and in my opinion lots of bugs caused by trash piling up near dumpster. I feel bad for people who live here full time. In my opinion looks and feels like an old run down trailer park. My family and I left after one night. Felt very creepy. read more

Convenient RV park located between Maricopia and Casa Grand Arizona. Has full hook ups and large level gravel pads. Some of the sites even have a concrete pad in front of RV sites. Has a club house that is used for get togethers. Pet and kid friendly plenty of area to walk or ride bicycles. Have camped here for 4 years, in the spring and winter, has always been quite and plenty of room between sites There are a 112 sites available for use. Does start to fill up during the winter time with people from all over the United States and Canada. Owners are super nice people and are willing to assist you at anytime, with any problems. They have propane filling station on site if propane is needed. Restrooms are clean and well kept, also have electronics lock for entry. A laundromat is also available for campers. read more

Fellow RVers: STEER CLEAR OF THIS UNETHICAL PLACE. Our experience this past winter at Wild West Ranch & RV Park (formerly John Wayne RV Ranch, LLC) in Maricopa, Arizona We paid a $100.00 deposit via credit card to this campground on 11/10/2017 for a month's stay beginning on 12/18/2017. Upon arrival, we wrote a check for $400.00 for the monthly rent. We left the campground on 1/13/2018, and my husband had made arrangements earlier in the week to return for another month beginning on 1/28/2018. Our credit card was charged by the campground for our electricity usage through 1/13/2018 on 1/29/2018. The amount charged was overstated, and a credit was issued to our card for the difference. We had not authorized this charge. Upon our return to Wild West on 1/28/2018, we wrote another check for $400.00 to cover the month ending on 2/28/2018. (At this time, our initial $100.00 deposit is still on the books as a credit). On the morning of our departure, March 1, 2018 we discovered the campground had charged our credit card 5 times between 10:57 and 11:08 am on 1/28/2018 for a total of $80.00 for electricity usage. We had not authorized this charge. We went to the office to inquire and ask for a final invoice along with the return of the deposit since it had not been used. I was told we would not receive our deposit because we owed money to the campground. We totally disagree with this and they have offered no proof of it. The owner Deanna R. Wilson-Alkateeb (wife) was offsite and would only communicate via text. The owner Naji Alkateeb (husband) was onsite but offered nothing but insults to my husband. As of this post, we have yet to receive any communication from the campground and our many emails and texts continue to go unanswered. We have filed a complaint with BBB-Arizona. A complaint has been filed with our bank as well. It turns out, this is not an isolated incident, and other campers have had similar problems involving the return of deposits and unauthorized credit card charges. There are several reviews out there. BAD PARK ALERT Wild West RV Resort (NOT), Maricopa AZ 1. Gave away our prepaid reserved spaces and had no other adequate spaces available. Eventually gave us other people's reserved spaces. 2. Owner refused to come into office to provide refund (so we could go home). Other online complaints about refused refunds. 3. Extremely dilapidated. Owners don't need to keep up maintenance because campers have no other RV park choices in any of this part of Arizona in the winter without reservations made a year in advance. 4. This is not a resort, unless you count the copious amount of liquor sold in the store. I didn't see anything else for sale. 5. Besides, the office/store is only open sporadically. A camper leaving at 10 am, had to leave a note on the door offering to make payment if they called him back. 6. The website is quite impressive. It boasts an RV wash for a $10 fee. That RV wash was a hose (with no water pressure) on the side of a building. Clubhouse is a locked tumble-down, dusty building with old construction materials inside and out. Though, I did see a bookcase with books on it. Too bad campers can't get to them. 7. Park is in rural area with unpleasant farm odors. 8. Bath houses kept clean, but zero water pressure in showers. Not enough water to wash off soap. No cleaning service on Sundays, so no toilet tissue in bathrooms. 9. Advertised in Passport America catalog, but is no longer a member. (I wouldn't doubt PA dropped them for low quality standards). They now charge more than their advertised PA price. 10. This is the worst park I've stayed in in 17 states read more

We had a reservation to stay here for a few nights but as we were driving there we passed a dairy farm and feed lots. The pungent smell was overwhelming and as we drove a little further on the small lessen some. The rv park is basically right down the road from the feed lots. We pulled into the rv park and inquired about getting a refund on our deposit and were told no. We would rather b out the $50 then spend the night in a place like this. We went here on short notice and it was easy to find. Out in the middle of Maricopa and Casa Grande. Seemed to be a nice place with gravel pads and some cement patio pads. We had 50 amp service and the WiFi was okay. We were able to stream Netflix with hardly any problem. Buffered a couple times around 7 PM so not bad. The showers/bath house seemed really nice and they were clean. The owners were pleasant and helpful. Looks like they are making improvements as they can and have time. We would probably visit again if we are in the area. There is a feed lot/dairy farm nearby but the smell doesn't last long...didn't bother us at all being from the Midwest. read more

To start with, this Rv park is conviently located approximately 11 miles South of Maricopa and 17 miles South West of Casa Grande. Both areas have more than ample shopping and numerous eating establishments. Lots are large hard gravel areas. A few of the lots have cement patio areas. The staff is currently working on improvements and they are quite busy yet still friendly and helpful. We have only been here a week but so far I have no real complaints. The only fault I can really find is the WiFi internet. It is at best just ok. Works for email and light internet use but it appears to be too overloaded for any kind of online gaming or streaming services. Cellular service if you have at&t is also spotty. Over the air tv is quite good with around 70 channels available with just an Rv antenna. For what you get, the rates are quite reasonable. You should call for current rates or any special offers they may have at the time. As for the bathroom and shower areas, they seemed quite nice to me considering a minimum of 50 people per day use them. The only bad odor I noticed comes from a very large cattle feed lot a few miles east of the Rv park and that odor is intermittent. I have no idea what Jom s. Is talking about. I have seen no sign of any illegal activity here and no one has tried to get me to buy drugs???? I do hope they improve the internet service, but we would definitely stay here again. read more

We had to cancel our reservations for January 2018 due to husbands illness. I called and cancelled two months prior to our reservation. Really great rv park find! The spaces are large and spaced out- the landscaping is gorgeous and well cared for. It's about an hour outside of Phoenix which is great for star gazing and campfire cookouts. See you in December, can't wait to be back! read more

My young daughter and I have lived at Wild West for nearly a year now and we couldn't be happier to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The park is beautiful, the bathhouses/restrooms which are coded for additional security are cleaned and inspected on a daily basis and the showers are spacious! The FREE WI-FI is amazing, even with running two smart TV's and a tablet at the same time. The onsite laundry room is newly air conditioned and also immaculate. The office which was remodeled and just opened a few months ago is full of delicious treats, drinks, and just about every beer and wine your heart could desire. The owners, Nash & Deanna will bend over backwards to make your stay amazing with fire pits, grills and picnic tables. The neighbors have become family in a way you just can't get in a traditional neighborhood. The night skies away from all the lights are perfect for stargazing, enjoying the quiet or conversing with great people. You won't be disappointed when you come to visit! read more

nice big level lots is about the only good thing about it, it is just down the road from cattle feed lots so you have to fight your way thru the flies to get in or out of your rv once you get in your rv is full of flies they think propane is gold there, if they get a deposit from you for any reason make sure you get your deposit back before you leave there or good luck getting it back which I found out the hard way, if you call after you leave and ask about your refund because you never got it Deanna will tell you I have taken care of it and hangs up on you and you never see it. we are full timers in our rv we travel a lot this is the worst park we have ever stayed in read more
