It is difficult to make decisions on which vendors to hire when you're just doing online research, but Mystic definitely did not disappoint! I called 3 weeks in advance to book the trip. I wanted a full day trip, but after discussing the options with Mystic, they advised that we go with a 2-hour morning trip due to the late afternoon heat, and the fact that young riders may not enjoy anything more than 2 hours. I booked 8 riders, but ended up having to cancel 2. Since cell-service is spotty up there, I left a voice message 2 days before to cancel the 2 seats and they didn't give me any grief. The transaction was smooth and easy. Upon arrival, getting checked in and settling the bill was quick and easy. We were on the trail in no time at all. Kailey was our guide and she was really great, narrating the amazing scenery along the way. If for no other reason than to see amazing scenery, this is the ride for you. We had an incident that was 100% user error. One of my scouts leaned forward (even after being advised on the proper technique) whilst heading downhill and ended up slipping off his saddle when the horse stopped abruptly. He fell, but was not hurt. Kailey immediately tended to him, made sure he was safe and fine, and even readjusted his saddle afterwards, just in case. She handled the situation very well, and even filed an incident report even though we had completely owned the error. The next day, after we were back in cell service area, we received a message from her checking in on the scout to make sure he was still fine. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! At the end of our week-long trip to Boise, many of the scouts named the horseback riding adventure as their favorite activity for the week!

Jerrod, Jenni and Kathi were great from the beginning communicating everything needed for my hunt. They even worked with me when my friend backed out due to a health issue. Everyone was helpful and friendly when I showed up. My guide, Moses, was the best. A true professional, hardworking, knowledgeable, tireless, relentless but still friendly. Moses worked his butt off to get me in range a great deer and did most of the work caping and quartering afterwards. Moses took me farther and higher every day looking to put me on a good buck when the weather didn't cooperate. He tailored my hunt to my abilities and desire. Like hunting with a good friend, maybe better. Worth every dollar, especially when you consider out of state license/tag (without points or draw), lodging, food, horses and a top quality guide who knows the area. Not a hunt for your first hunt, the faint of heart or for someone in poor health. Wife felt extremely comfortable, safe and taken care of enough to stay back at the inn, laying on the hammock next to the stream while I went on a hunt with Adam's team. They have a wealth of hunting and guiding experience all over the country and world. We booked a bear hunt for 4 hunters. The accommodations at the lodge were amazing. Very comfortable cabins to stay in with home cooked meals every day. The guides worked their tails off for us, and wanted to see us punch our tags as much as we did. While their guiding abilities were great their personalities were even greater. I'd be happy to share a camp fire and beers with these guys any day of the week. Based on this trip we will be looking forward to hunting with Sawtooth Wilderness Outfitters every spring. You can ignore the bad review from the past owners and book with these guys with confidence.

(We ended up going on a last minute hunt that was sub par at best but paying full price.) Gave it to us in writing. Found out he is no longer willing to honor his word. Says there are new owners and they don't care about the agreement. So, if you book with these guys, this is the type of organization you are dealing with. Their work cannot be trusted. Side note, my buddy did go on his hunt with Sawtooth, week after I was going. He was not impressed at all. They did not see a single deer. They did see a few elk, but way off. Avoid, there are other more honorable outfits
