I've been to Wild West Comics multiple times, and while the store has potential, it consistently disappoints when it comes to stocking new releases and maintaining a solid back issue inventory. They rarely keep a good back stock of past comics. Most of what's available seems to be leftover issues that didn't sell, rather than a curated selection of popular or essential titles. If you're looking for anything specific from recent weeks, chances are it's already gone. New comic release days feel like they're catered exclusively to regulars. I arrived at 11:20 AM on release day and the Redband Punisher issue was already sold out. It's frustrating to see how few copies they order--there's never enough for everyone, and it feels like unless you have a pull list or know someone, you're out of luck. If you're a casual reader or someone trying to get into comics, this store might not be the most welcoming or reliable place to find what you're looking for. read more

Coming from El Paso, Texas, we do not have a lot of comic book stores and the ones that we do, are pretty small so coming to Arlington and seeing this book store was very refreshing. When we first walked in, we were immediately greeted by an employee. I do not remember his name but he was a young guy with brown hair and I believe he had glasses. He was very quick to answer any questions we had and gave us great recommendations. We ended up purchasing 2 books and a stuffed animal that my gf fell in love with and named Bruce (after Batman of course). If we are ever in the Arlington area again, I definitely will be stopping by again to purchase some more comics! I will add more photos of the items that we bought in the next few days! read more

I been going to this location for years and I always had a great experience. They're to be called lone star comics but they had to change their name to wild west. I usually just go here for comic books but they always carry a vast variety of novelty and pop culture items. Manga, comics, boars game, boars game accessories and card games are some of the few items available to purchase. They have a area of the store with tables where players can play each other with game cards, board games and read comics. If you are looking for a gift for the geek in your life or just something for you, this is the place. read more

I've now visited this establishment 3 times and I've had nothing but great experiences. First time to help my daughter learn to play Pokémon. The staff was friendly and informative. Chris and Steven helped us so much. The place was also very clean and organized. 2nd time I go to pick up some comics and Stephen helped me again. Introducing me to another new Marvel Series for my daughter. Then today once again picking up my subscription I received great service and the staff went above and beyond helping me to get the comics I was missing. Great selection and great customer service has made this a place I love to visit and will continue to go back to. read more

This shop continues the top-notch sale of new comics, books, collecting supplies and games that it has had for years. The staff never lurks over people as they take their time browsing but is ready to jump in and offer expert help at a moment's notice. When I asked about an issue they were out of they offered to have one sent over from their other location (Hulen in Fort Worth) or from their supplier right away. They are also a great location to pick up back issues you order on line. Good place. Good peeps. read more

I had to visit a comic book shop while on vacation and this one had the most stars. They sell games, comics, and collectables here, but no used comic books like I was hoping for. Most of their stock is the newer stuff. This place seemed pretty big because of all the open space. They could easily fit a few more shelves in if they wanted but the openness was nice. They have a gaming area to the right with a bunch of tables at chairs to play at. The staff was really friendly and helped me out. It was a fun visit. read more

Very good, current selection of hobby and hobby accessories. Table top games like Star Wars, and card games like smash up and munchkin are available. There are tons of comic books and lots of geeky things to look at and feel good about. Staff is friendly and mostly attentive, and quite knowledgeable about the wide range of games and comics (comics not being my domain). My biggest gripe is the "vibe" of the store towards organized play. Events aren't being broadcasted on a regular basis. No attempts are made to make new comers integrate with the incumbent group. To top it off, they want to charge for table use. They talk about demos, but I've yet to see it done. (Check their schedule). It's a good place to visit, but really big missed opportunity to upsell to returning gaming communities. read more

I used to go here a lot back when it was Lonestar comics. I have to say this place isn't bad it's got the typical comic shop stuff but the issue seems to be that they never have the things i NEED that i can find anywhere else. Need a playmat tube? They're out. Want to buy a MTG booster box? They're probably out. Want a binder to hold your card sleeve pages? They're out. I've had to go to a small hole in the wall shop on Pioneer called Limitless Games, they're much smaller than Wildwest but easily had everything i needed and more. To be fair i understand stores run out of things but i just have to give the 2 star review because its become a trend that doesn't seem to be breaking any time soon. read more

Time to nerd out. I don't find too many brick and mortar comic book stores these days. Yes, I do read comics, but I usually order mine online for where I live it is just more convenient. This store was large and very organized. For Star Wars fans and Walking Dead I saw a good deal of merchandise. There was lots of games too. I saw a decent gathering of Magic card types playing in the back. It's not my thing, but I know such games garner quiet the following. I did see a My Little Pony card game that looked interesting maybe in a couple years I'll try it with my niece when she is old enough. I also found a comic that I didn't have in my collection that I wanted thus nabbed. However, they don't seem to sell old comics so if that's your thing you'll need to look elsewhere. Overall, if I lived in the area I'd make it a frequent enough stop. read more

Great selection of trades, friendly staff, and current books. No back issues to speak of but a great gaming area with plenty of demo games.

My experience was stellar, upon walking in I was greeted immediately. Since I'm not currently a novelist comic, I definitely needed a quick lay of the lands. I'm no expert in comic books store; in fact this was my 1st time in one. With that in mind, the store was very clean and the set up is easy to figure out. Very vibrant and interesting decor. I do all of my table top shopping here at this point. The prices are standard (they don't vary much period) but more important is the atmosphere. The staff is very helpful and friendly, they have an area set up for playing games, and a wide variety of products. Sometimes they sell out of something, and they do lack a touch in how many dice they sell, but aside that a wonderful store. P.S. I just got back into comic books, and I was looking for a new store near me. I found this one and thought I'd check it out. They had a huge selection, discount bins, and more. They have a community growing around their store. You can go there for their events, drawing competitions, have a chat with the staff, or even just buy comic books. The staff is so friendly, you will most likely start a conversation by just checking out. I am definitely making this my go to comic book store. read more

So after my bad review the last time. I got a PM on here from the store manager telling me he apologize for the rude employee and horrible experience I had. So after that I thought I would give them another shot after all everyones entitled to have a bad day. So I went back and OMG the customer service I received was spectacular. I was greeted by Chynna the moment I opened the door I was then asked if I was looking for anything in particular I said no just browsing she said okay just let me know if you need any help. Later on I ask if she had harbinger renegades #3 she then said there some on the counter. She then went to look she came back and said it wasn't there she then looked it up on the computer and said unfortunately we do not would you like me to order it I said no just looking for it. This Happend a few more time. She even went in the back too look for somethings. In the end I left happy as a clam with some comics and some boards. I'll definitely be back if I'm in the part of town again. read more

I'm new to the area and was excited to find a comic store that fit my needs. I started coming regularly and was enjoying it for awhile. However, then they got a new store manager. Before I start describing this man's behavior, let me first say that there are a few employees who are very nice and always greet me when I walk in. There is a young woman named Kim in particular who is the definition of happy and it's not just that way with me. No matter who walks in that door she is nothing but fantastic. If it wasn't for her, this review would be a one star. The new manager (Andy? It starts with an "A") is so disrespectful to his employees. At least the customers get a little better treatment, but he has this air of thinking that he is better than everyone he talks to. Whereas Kim gives everyone a look of welcome, this guy gives a look of derision. Any time I have ever asked (or even had a friendly conversation) with another employee there he always makes his way over and stares at us while pretending to straighten things before I become uncomfortable enough to end the conversation and walk away. Furthermore, none of his employees seem to even like being around him. On the few occasions that I have tried to talk with him he is very short and I don't think he has a lot of comic knowledge, which seems weird for someone who manages a store that sells comics. Overall, this place is alright, would be better if the manager stopped treating his employees poorly. It's too the point that if I see that he is there I take my business elsewhere. If people like Kim ever leave, I will stop going all together. read more
