Wild West City is an entertainment venue. Stage coach rides are seven dollars and are fun. Ride a small train through the woods and around the property. 'Shows' such as gun fights, happen on Main Street regularly. The little kids where having a blast! Parking is in a dirt lot and on the grass. A parking attendant will guide you to your spot. Handicap parking is directly by the entrance, also dirt/gras. Purchase tickets on site or through their website. They offer senior, military and first responder discounts. They also have group rates, host school groups and private events. Main Street is to your right as you enter. A wide dirt road with wooden structures on each side. Here you'll find a general store, trading post, candy shop, saloons, public restrooms, blacksmith, and lots of wild west and early settler memorabilia. For example, costumes from the Buffalo Bill show, native artifacts, weapons, horse tack, barber shop items, tools and much, much more. There are several coin operated kiddie rides along the sidewalks too. To the left of the entrance is the train station, Native American village and a chuck wagon and prairie schooner. We ate at the Golden Nugget Saloon, the only food option open during our visit. Walk-up counter service and a full bar. They have a stage for live music and public restrooms. The menu is mostly chicken prepared in a variety of ways, grilled cheese, panini, Soda, iced tea, coffee & tea. Food is brought to your table when ready. Bus your own table. There is one recycling bin by the bar- the only one I saw in the park. My vegetable panini was pretty good. Fresh, grilled veg with cheese melted over all in a panini press. I ordered a hot tea, which seemed to confuse everyone, but they sorted it out. This venue has been around since the 50's and for me, some of the 'wear' adds to the authenticity of feeling like a wild west town. I would not bring my kids to watch 'shoot outs', but there were plenty of kids and most were enjoying the shows and recreating shoot-outs among themselves. Until the caps in their cap guns ran out. You can buy those in the general store along with hats and t-shirts among other things. Be aware, the gun shots during shows are loud and there is a good deal of shouting during these recreations. If your child does not like loud noises check the show time schedule and plan to be away from Main St. during those shows. At the end of Main St., behind the saloon, you'll find mini-golf, panning for gems and a few animals (you cannot touch or feed them). You can walk through the woods to the woodsmans cottage, school house, Native American village and chuck wagon. There are staff members all around. There are several picnic tables on the grounds, many under the trees with trash barrels nearby. Corn hole is available between the stage coach and lariat tossing lessons. All in all we enjoyed the venue. The staff were engaging and funny. I very much enjoyed the small museum displays set up as store fronts such as the Stage Coach office or Barber for example. The coach ride is a fun experience that isn't available in many places. The train was a tight fit for the adults, but fun none the less. read more

Haven't been here since I was a kid and hubby doesn't remember going. So we decided to make a trip. It was cute, plenty of parking. But it was kind of expensive, for 2 ppl with a military discount it was over $70. Not worth the money, I think. Small place and we saw everything in about 1 1/2 hours. Staff are hit or miss. The actors are friendly, but the sales people, some are friendly and the others weren't. Glad we got to experience it but wouldn't go back. I don't know how families with kids could afford it. read more

Super entertaining! Pros: Interactive shows - kids were involved in a long and interesting bank robbery one. Horse and buggy ride (extra cost) - it was nice to sit up top and be carted around by a horse. Kids loved it. Train ride - lots of fun. Especially enjoyed the "hold up". Restaurants - believe it or not their food was good. They also serve alcohol which is nice for the parents. Haunted Jail - go inside and have them tell you the story. It's creepy and interesting (kids were freaked out...ha). Cons Some of the shows are long and can be longer than a kids attention span. Prices are high. This is a sad place with so many awesome people who work here. If you have younger children they will enjoy it but anyone over the age of 8 would not recommend. Do not go on a hot day, it's brutal and my heart goes out to the workers. It's cute but honestly I don't know how it's managed to stay open. read more

I grew up going here and today we took my daughter for the first time. It's about an hour and a half drive for us but it was fun as always, the staff is so friendly and welcoming. We had a great time watching the performances, playing at the new mini golf setup and eating at the saloon. I love that it's never overly packed and you can move about with no lines and whatnot. read more

After reading all Of the positive reviews we decided to pop in Sunday prior to memorial day. Good thing is that it was not crowded. The shows are cute, the staff is great but I would suggest it for kids 6 and under. Any child over that age will be bored. Pony rides are only available for kids about 6 and under. Please note that the train ride, pony ride, mini golf, coach ride are all additional fees! Be prepared to pay $ 21 per person in addition to the entrance fee!! Adults - $29 per person Children - 2 and up $25 each The train ride is cute The actors are invested in the shows and very friendly. All of the grounds are dirt therefore don't wear cute shoes nor white sneakers! There is also barely any shade therefore wear a hat and sunscreen on hot, sunny days. A lot of guns and shooting! Not very appropriate right now with the shootings. Unfortunately this place will soon have to think of a better way to entertain its visitors. I do not condone guns nor violence and for that reason this establishment may not last very long. I also wonder about the horses and ponys on-site. A fun time in the Old West. It's a place where things haven't changed since it opened in the 1950's, and that's the charm that has brought us back. Constant shows on the main "street." Wear sneakers or boots- sandals are a terrible idea (I speak from experience). There's live music, food and a full bar in the Saloon. Lots of things to see in the small buildings that line either side of the street- like little museums. Check out the Blacksmith- he is full of interesting knowledge and provides live demonstrations. read more

I had never visited Wild West City as a child, but as a 38 year old, it was AWESOME! My 6 year old loved it as well. We booked our tickets online. Teachers receive a 20% off discount. And yes, they do ask for id when you arrive. My current NJEA card sufficed. They offer the same discount to military, AAA members and first responders. For two adults, two senior citizens, one child and a pony ride the total came to $114. Super reasonable for a full day of fun. I cannot praise the actors enough. It was raining, pretty heavily, and they performed amazingly. Seriously...like they laid down in the dirt/mud. It was a great show. I was enthralled, as was my daughter. As for the food. We packed a picnic lunch and ate it at the car. However, my dear husband, was starving beforehand and we visited the Saloon. They have a full bar. But the food was delicious. We ordered chicken nuggets and mozzarella sticks to tide us over. And they were well worth it. Unfortunately, due to the persistent rain, we only lasted 3 hours. We didn't use our Stagecoach tickets or pony ride. We plan on coming back in a few weeks though! read more

We went here as kids over 50 years ago. Returned with our grandchildren and had a great day. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. The performers were enthusiastic, friendly, and interacted with the kids to include them in the shows. There are shows pretty much continuously throughout the day. Came back and it was better than the last time! Pulled into the parking lot and found enough parking near the entrance. Tickets were purchased online. This made things even easier upon arrival. All I had to show was an educator's identification for a discount. I checked in, got a map and started our Western adventure. Walking into the park was like traveling into a western past. Here you'll find mini museums with so many antiques, train ride, pony ride, mini golf, gold mine, barnyard, nugget saloon and barnyard. Some are at a addition fee. Right in the middle of it all is where you'll experience live performances in which your little ones can par take. Make sure to grab a schedule. Kids can join the "hold up" events. These performances run about every 15-30 mins. Actors do a great job staying in character and are all so friendly. For an additional fee we did the Stage Coach. This was a ride that goes through the park and has robbers trying to rob us. For the little ones, aside from the train & pony ride, bring some quarters and ride the antique rides. There is a picnic area in which we took a break and had some snacks in between entertainments. I'd recommend this for all ages! My kids were just as entertained as I. Although it was 95 degrees we had a blast. Every performer, shopkeeper, and staff were excellent. If you want to save some money, buy the tickets online (and maybe the guns too lol). I have no idea why I haven't written a review for this place yet. My 9 year old daughter LOVES this place. We go a lot and are pass holders. We don't mind bringing her. It's how I remember it when I was a kid, but it's nice that it's that way. They make history fun. We love the stagecoach and the train. It's also worth it to check the calendar and top when something special is happening. I can't even begin to describe how wonderful the staff is. Their interactions with the children are amazing. This is why our little one is infatuated with Dodge City. The kids have so much fun and it's the performers that do it. The love that they have for Wild West City is extremely apparent. They love their jobs and it shows. It's contagious. Even new hires blend in easily and have fun. No one acts like they'd rather be somewhere else. Came here on a sunny day. I was quite impressed with this place as I didn't know what to expect. It wasn't that crowded, but it could be since it was on a weekday and people have to work. Came here with my nephews and they loved it. I would suggest this for kids who are below 10 years old. They kept asking if everything was real - when it was all a reenactment of the wild wild west. There are train rides and stage coach rides. All cost extra ($4 per ride). Kids can mine for gold. Also there is a section for kids to mini golf and a small petting zoo where kids can feed the animals. If you have small kids and have a free day - why not bring them here? Just head on over with a small gun or water gun so they can participate. Maybe even a cowboy hat. read more

Loved this place! Brought a teenager here who really had a great time 'being a kid' again. As a fan of old westerns both tv & movies, I thought it was a blast. The staff was terrific and extremely friendly. They worked super hard to engage with the kids and really make them a part of the 'shows'. The gunfights were campy but really fun and I loved that this place really relies on humans to make the experience real. The mini museums are great as are the train ride, the stage ride and even mining for 'gems'. Cannot overstate how interactive the cowboys and girls are here throughout the entire day and all over the place. It felt very nostalgic to me as a kid who played cowboys, but my 18yr old also found it very fun. Terrific hidden gem of a place; wish I'd known about this when she was little; we'd have made it a yearly visit. Plenty of shady spots, benches to sit on and just observe (if grandparents are taking kids); refreshments etc. Great day!! read more

Came here on July 4th with my son, godson and two siblings (8 & 10). I have to say that I had my reservations but we really enjoyed our time here. They have almost non-stop skits and shows going on. While a bit corny the kids absolutely love it. They do a really good job of engaging the kids and involving them in some acts. I was also able to see an Indian dance show which is held over the 4th weekend and certain other special days. It was really interesting and informative. Your first reaction is this place is really worn down. But wait....it's the old west....it's supposed to be worn down! The kids certainly didn't question it and the actors all do a very fine job of engaging the kids and making the play seem real. It's a very nice way to spend the afternoon. Everyone is very nice and the salon is a real one serving beer so adults can get a cool one. Food is served on site and it was fairly priced. We enjoyed our burgers and fried chicken. You can probably rush through in 3 hours but relax enjoy the atmosphere and stay the afternoon. read more

I visited Wild West City as a child about 25 years ago and was glad that I was able to bring my 4 and 6 year old daughters to experience the shows and history. We enjoyed riding the train that got held up by outlaws. My girls loved the pony ride and visiting the school. The old wild west town was really neat. The mountain man's camp taught the girls about different western items. They offered frequent shows in the center of town that kept it interesting. Fun family day! read more

While I have lived in the area for many years and never brought my own children here, but we had our grandchildren for the week and were looking for something to do with them and my wife suggested Wild West City. so we brought our 3 and 6 year old boys and they had a blast. We entered at 10:45 and left at 4:30. The guys ran around most of the day and we couldn't get them out. They enjoyed the stage coach and train hold-up and participated in the interactive activities, especially the 6 year old. We were pleased to see that we had a place sit for a picnic as we brought food from home. The children wanted to buy guns at the general store and they were quite expensive so if you have guns at home bring them. The staff at the general store were very accommodating. The rifle we bought for our 6 year old could not be operated by a child and the manager graciously allowed me to return it the next day and replace it with a slightly easier gun which a 6 year old could manage. Went with low expectations and left pleasantly surprised at how entertaining, educational and creative this place was. The actors here deserve praise as they really put a lot of effort into what they're doing, and in 90 degree weather no less. You're walking around a town much like the set of dr. Quinn complete with a saloon, barber shop, candy shoppe, blacksmith, etc etc and there are actors in some of these buildings ready to give you a short history lesson on what they're representing. There are short shows throughout the day from beginning to end so you've always got something to watch/do. I would recommend going at opening so you don't miss too much and you really want to be there for any kid participation shows. I would recommend for families with kids only. The first time I went to Wild West City, I was around 7 years old. I remember it being the coolest place ever, and even though I'd only been the one time, I remembered it vividly, and dreamed of going back. The next time I went to Wild West City was as an adult, with 2 other adults. I expected to get maybe an hour of entertainment, but we ended up spending almost five hours there, leaving just as they started closing up for the night. Wild West City is an experience, and even if you don't go with children, you can have an incredible time. The best part, for me, was how passionate the workers and volunteers were about the place. Everyone there seemed to truly love their job and was putting their all into giving guests the best experience. The highlights: -There is almost always entertainment going on in the "main" area, and there is lots of seating around the area where you can sit and take in the show. -You can bring your own food in! They have a picnic area. -There are two bars/saloons on property. The main one is where they serve food and have a performer every once in a while. It's very cute, and they have a full bar and some interesting specials. My boyfriend got a whiskey/sarsaparilla, which was only $7.50 and very tasty. You're allowed to go anywhere on property with your drink, too. The bathrooms in here are TINY but clean. -There are a few "excursions" that are surprisingly adult-friendly. We went on the train ride--my boyfriend and I are not tiny, and we were able to squeeze pretty comfortably into one seat. We also went on the stagecoach, which is horse-drawn. Both are $4 a person, and both get "held up" by a bandit. Both bandits were incredibly funny, and engaged with us as adults, instead of pretending we were children. It was my highlight of the day, and I think the stagecoach is a "must-do." -There is a small animal area with a miniature horse, a pig, some chickens, and a goat. There was no food when we were there, but you could pet most of them. -There is miniature golf ($4) in the shade. -They have little museums set up in some of the buildings. The rooms get stuffy in the heat, but there are some interesting things to look at it in each room. -The food in the saloon was actually fantastic and well priced! I got a vegetarian burger for $6, and it was really great. Ultimately, this was an unexpectedly great place to visit as an adult. It's of course also super entertaining for children, but if you enjoy campy, cheesy entertainment, and a fair bit of vintage kitsch, you will love it here. read more

I will be contacting animal protection services as soon as I can Really feel so bad for that horse pony and goat (the goat wouldn't stop crying laying in his poop with no water in sight .. they need help ASAP .. Don't be put off by reviews from people who just don't get this place. I just got home after checking it out with my five year old son. We got there for the opening ceremony and I planned to stay through lunch. We ended up staying until the closing ceremony. He just didn't want to leave. We had a blast. Is the place old? Yes. Is stuff dated? Yes. But... that's kind of the point. This isn't Disney or Dorney, it's Wild West City and it's got terrific character. A realistic recreation of a real town from the old West. Gunslingers, cowgirls, cowpokes, can-can dancers, and lots more. It's a bit of a throwback to yesteryear and you'll definitely get some memorable family time out of your visit. Admission covers your entrance to the park and a ton of great shows and ways to get entertained. Mini golf, stagecoach and train are an additional $4 each. We do lots of parks and attractions and I found Wild West City to be worth it. The stagecoach and train were great but what we liked the most were the shows. They were entertaining and my son really got a kick out of them. There was a show every 15 minutes or so all day long so when you see reviews that say admission doesn't include anything they're just wrong. We saw gunfights, can-can dancers, horse riding, stage coach robbing and bank robberies to names few. Native American dancers were really great. They also deputized kids, give them badges and let them help capture the bad guys... all for the price of admission. We ate lunch in the saloon but we learned we could have brought our own and eaten it in the picnic area. We may try that next time. Food is pricey but no more than any other similar park/attraction. Go to get a taste of the old West and just enjoy yourself. We spent a quality day together here and will definitely go back. A very nice change of pace from a typical amusement park. read more

You must stop here if you're drivin' through town!! It is the cutest place and they did a fantastic job making you feel like your stepping back into the Wild Wild West! They have little shows running right in the middle of town all day so you never miss any of the action! You get the schedule when you walk in! When you walk in you are greeted by the nicest ladies! They will answer all your questions and they love working there. Everyone that works there does, so you know it's a quaint family run and operated place that they really care about. You step in and you hear the "gun shots" from the cowboys running up and down town! You walk through a dirt road and see horses and cowboys walking around! Watch out for bandits along the way!!!! They may try to steal the gum from your pocketbooks! Oh, boy! There is a lot of history as you walk through each little shop and a lot of artifacts from the time period. There is nothing like a good road side attraction to put you back to the days when family's would take road trips together in a 1956 Cadillac and use a map to get to where they had to go! My 5 year old daughter and I have spent most of the last year building a Lego cowboy town so have been really into cowboys and frontier things. We stopped here on our way back to CT from the Jersey Shore. It was really cheesy and maybe a bit expensive but both were exactly what we expected so I wouldn't say we were disappointed. More along the lines of a museum with plays than a living history museum (like Old Sturbridge Village). My daughter absolutely loved it and though it took some coercion she even enjoyed participating in the stagecoach robbery scene. We didn't eat or do any of the extras so I can't comment on those. Was disappointed that the gift shop didn't have really any adult men's T-shirt's. There were a few designs I would have liked but were only available in Small's and mediums. read more

As a kid I remember the city to be much larger and the bandits to be more scarey. I enjoyed the history and exhibits they have. The shows the run all day long keep you watching the gun fights and teach you about the old west. They could use some updates to their sound system, but other than that the shows where fun. The kids enjoyed the exhibits and got their toy guns. The whole crowd gets involved in capturing the gang of bandits. They also have a petting zoo, panning for gold, and a mini golf course which is all included in the entrance price. You need to pay extra for the train, stage coach, and pony rides. we ate at the saloon, the food was what you would expect, as well as the prices. a nice change from the crowded theme parks, and a fun family day. read more
