The events were all unique and extremely well produced. The opening ceremony was held at City Hall and was a wonderful sample of local artists supported by the town mayor. At Ice House I got to experience a new play about affordable housing called "Most Beautiful Home Maybe" which was interactive and very thought provoking. At National Sokols I saw a theatrical wrestling match from LVAC and rock show paired with delicious food from Jenny's Kuali catering (unbelievably delicious!) There were fun pop up story collecting booths throughout the town. Some of my friends attended, and raved about, the historic and artistic walking tours and really got to know the neighborhoods and history. Touchstone itself is also an amazing venue and ensemble theatre company and I look forward to catching a show soon! Congrats to Mary Wright, the Director of Education for curating and directing such a meaningful and impactful festival. Wow!! Absolutely epic experience - I wish every town would invest in community in this way. Outstanding!!

SteelStacks in Bethlehem absolutely surprised me in the best way…read more I'm used to the massive MusikFest setup, so rolling up to a smaller, all-grass stage felt totally different but honestly? It ended up being one of the most fun concert nights I've had in forever. I saw Set It Off, Zero 9:36, and Hollywood Undead... in the pouring rain... and it somehow made everything even better. The whole lawn has a gentle hill so you can see the stage from pretty much anywhere. Plus it's all general admission, which means you can wander, get closer, hang back by the buildings, sprawl out on the grass whatever fits your vibe in the moment. The acoustics were solid, the energy was wild, and we even got to meet a few of the Zero 9:36 guys afterward, which basically cemented the night as iconic. If you like flexible viewing, good sound, and concerts that turn into core memories because of the weather, the chaos, and the crowd SteelStacks is absolutely worth it.

The dessert option included Italian water ice, which were chemically infused cherry flavored frozen ice without wooden spoon, just bendie plastic spoons available in plastic wrapped knife, fork and spoon napkin sets leaving you to toss the unused utensils in the trash, for the $3.00 price of the water ice you can afford the 10 cent paper wrapped biodegradable wooden spoons!

For Halloween this year a few of us decided to do something different. We saw an ad about a costume…read moreparty happening at a paint and sip store in Bethlehem and thought: why not? I've been hoping to nurture my creative side and doing it while drinking might help get my juices flowing. Their website boasts a whole array of paintings, there are pretty landscapes, rustic designs and some fun and festive ones, priced around $25-45 each depending on the length and difficulties. I saw a few more challenging ones that I'm very interested to satisfy my type-A personality. There's also one that you can install some lights to shine through the canvas. I'm definitely going to sign up for that. Since it's a BYOB, we went to buy two bottle of wines, dressed up in our costumes and headed out to check this out. It was located in an unassuming strip mall on Nazareth Pike. We were met with very pleasant staff who dressed as zombies and zombie hunter while assuring us that they usually look more normal, ha! The manager painted himself as Vincent Van Gogh' self portrait, I thought to myself that we were in for a creative night. The painting itself was a gloomy zombie walk in a grave yard. It lends itself to some fun shadow work. The host taught us how to paint it step by step with funny anecdotes and games in between while we refill our wine glass every now and then. Two hours flew by and everyone finished their paintings on time. I think we all left satisfied. My other friends later saw my handiwork and commented on it and I think we'll come back to try other ones. What a fun hobby to pick up!

'Shows' such as gun fights, happen on Main Street regularly. The little kids where having a blast! Parking is in a dirt lot and on the grass. A parking attendant will guide you to your spot. Handicap parking is directly by the entrance, also dirt/gras. Purchase tickets on site or through their website. They offer senior, military and first responder discounts. They also have group rates, host school groups and private events. Main Street is to your right as you enter. A wide dirt road with wooden structures on each side. Here you'll find a general store, trading post, candy shop, saloons, public restrooms, blacksmith, and lots of wild west and early settler memorabilia. For example, costumes from the Buffalo Bill show, native artifacts, weapons, horse tack, barber shop items, tools and much, much more. There are several coin operated kiddie rides along the sidewalks too. To the left of the entrance is the train station, Native American village and a chuck wagon and prairie schooner. We ate at the Golden Nugget Saloon, the only food option open during our visit. Walk-up counter service and a full bar. They have a stage for live music and public restrooms. The menu is mostly chicken prepared in a variety of ways, grilled cheese, panini, Soda, iced tea, coffee & tea. Food is brought to your table when ready. Bus your own table. There is one recycling bin by the bar- the only one I saw in the park. My vegetable panini was pretty good. Fresh, grilled veg with cheese melted over all in a panini press. I ordered a hot tea, which seemed to confuse everyone, but they sorted it out. This venue has been around since the 50's and for me, some of the 'wear' adds to the authenticity of feeling like a wild west town. I would not bring my kids to watch 'shoot outs', but there were plenty of kids and most were enjoying the shows and recreating shoot-outs among themselves. Until the caps in their cap guns ran out. You can buy those in the general store along with hats and t-shirts among other things. Be aware, the gun shots during shows are loud and there is a good deal of shouting during these recreations. If your child does not like loud noises check the show time schedule and plan to be away from Main St. during those shows. At the end of Main St., behind the saloon, you'll find mini-golf, panning for gems and a few animals (you cannot touch or feed them). You can walk through the woods to the woodsmans cottage, school house, Native American village and chuck wagon. There are staff members all around. There are several picnic tables on the grounds, many under the trees with trash barrels nearby. Corn hole is available between the stage coach and lariat tossing lessons. All in all we enjoyed the venue. The staff were engaging and funny. I very much enjoyed the small museum displays set up as store fronts such as the Stage Coach office or Barber for example. The coach ride is a fun experience that isn't available in many places. The train was a tight fit for the adults, but fun none the less.

But it was kind of expensive, for 2 ppl with a military discount it was over $70. Not worth the money, I think. Small place and we saw everything in about 1 1/2 hours. Staff are hit or miss. The actors are friendly, but the sales people, some are friendly and the others weren't. Glad we got to experience it but wouldn't go back. I don't know how families with kids could afford it.

Parking was free and easy in the attached parking garage but the entrance to the arts center isn't marked (it would be a small and very helpful feature). Parking on level 3 worked as there are steps to a small bridge to the theatre. Definitely planning on another visit.
