All the food was fantastic as were Sue and her team! They kept our entire party extremely satisfied and happy.

Recently attended an event that used this catering company, and I'm so disappointed in what they had to offer. The tray passed appetizers came out looking sloppy (was a spring roll which should be rolled nice and tight) but upon taking a bit would fall apart everywhere. Was served a raw chicken skewer, and when I let the caterer know what happened she seemed very unbothered by the fact that she had served raw chicken and let me know she needed to pay better attention which was kind of alarming to me. The server she had accompanying her was actually lovely and very kind, and very apologetic about serving the raw skewer. Prior to posting my review I did go on to read other reviews and it seems as if this isn't the first time that raw chicken has been served which is very concerning. The appetizers lacked flavor to me, and unfortunately after consuming the raw chicken I threw my plate away as I was too concerned to keep eating. Not my favorite experience to say the least. read more

Susan catered my baby shower for 30 people and the food was OUTSTANDING! It's was a mix of fresh, farmer's market, homemade, but professionally cooked meals. I wanted to ensure our guests were well fed and she nailed the menu for the theme, which was early November, so we went healthy/harvest/thanksgiving. Her menu has so many good options, and she delivers everything and will do some light prep and help you figure out timing/schedule. Her menu has so many good options and she'll work with you on creating a nice balanced meal. We were so happy with her food, working with a really nice, local person and couldn't recommend her enough! I wish she could cater my entire meal train post birth :) read more

Wild Thyme catering did an absolute fabulous job at our event( hands down)!!! We love our food, libations, good company, and a great time. Wild Thyme catering definitely added to our experience!! We hired Wild Thyme catering for a birthday brunch on the beach. The food was amazing!! The menu looked great but I had never tried the food. It was a pleasant surprise and "yummy for the tummy" Everything we ordered was delicious and had by all! Susan was very easy to work with and very accommodating.....our coffee order was accidentally left off the order, but Susan personally went to Starbucks and delivered coffee to us. She even took some photos of the group. Some of our favorites: Mexican bake Chicken sausage patties Maple bacon Fruit salad Everything was good but this were definitely the favorites!! We're still craving the chicken sausage patties!! Thanks Susan and Wild Thyme catering for adding to our special day!! We'll see you again soon enough! read more

We had Susan prepare dinner for eight of us on a Saturday night. We had a few emails discussing the menu: pork belly appetizer, soup, salad, sea bass, lamb chops and a terrific desert. Food was exceptional and I was extremely happy that I did not have to do a THING except enjoy our meal and our guests. Everyone loved the food and loved having dinner in the comfort of home rather than going out. Susan brought a wonderful server that helped move things forward without us ever feeling rushed. They also prepared a champagne cocktail and charcuterie that we enjoyed outside before moving into the house for dinner. They used our kitchen, dishes, glassware and a few pans. Service was terrific and everything flowed smoothly from appetizers to dessert. We had some special guests arriving and Wild Thyme completely facilitated this surprise for the other couples. When they left, every single dish had been washed (i think by hand) and my dishwasher was empty--so I had room for the last remaining dishes. My house has never been this clean after a dinner party. I'm not sure I can ever to back to planning my own dinner parties now. There was not a single stressful minute. The price was what we would have paid in a nice restaurant. I will definitely be using Wild Thyme in the future. read more

Went a wedding where they were the catering. Honestly food was awful. Like off site/pre sou vide filets that were cold awful. DON'T DO IT!!

Susan catered our company holiday party and she is simply the best. She is fast in communication and had great ideas / suggestions for the party. Her team is respectful and the food was great!! She suggested a mash potatoes in martini glass and it turned out to be an absolute hit. We will definitely hire her team again for our next part. read more

I hired Susan to cater an end of year banquet for a philanthropic group I advise. Susan is so easy to work with - responsive to all of my emails, helped us plan the menu and stay in our budget, and adaptive to last minute changes. The food was AMAZING! Such great flavors and combinations. Presentation was beautiful and her staff great. Highly recommend and would definitely use Wild Thyme again! read more

I enjoyed another great cooking class with Sue Kowalski, culminating in a delicious Indian meal -- that I would not have dared to prepared on my own. This is my 3rd cooking class and it's been great fun to prepare each one with friends and family. I am looking forward to having the opportunity to do more. Thank you Sue! Constance read more

I worked with Susan to coordinate a surprise birthday dinner for two for my husband. We created a delicious menu together and she suggested that we include a wine pairing aspect to the meal. Susan arrived at our townhome and made us feel as though we were eating in a 4star restaurant from the comfort of our dining room. Susan was wonderful, the food was delicious and the whole experience has been proclaimed by my husband to be "the best dinner ever!!!". I highly recommend Susan and Wild Thyme for any catering job read more

Susan and her team catered our wedding reception earlier this month and did a fantastic job! The food was delicious and looked beautiful, the service was great, and all 110 guests enjoyed everything. What I especially appreciated is that Susan was able to accommodate my gluten-free needs and came up with a dessert that everyone was raving about. The custom white sangria was also a huge hit. My husband and I appreciate how wonderfully everything turned out and all the work Susan and her team put into making things special and stress-free. I highly recommend Wild Thyme LA for your catering needs! read more

I've had the pleasure of attending a number of parties and family events catered by Susan K. at Wild Thyme. We recently hired Wild Thyme for a 50th b-day celebration and the b-day boy requested Shrimp Creole...and Susan simply knocked it outta the park! Two particular things stand out to me about the events Susan caters: 1. Her versatility in preparing a wide variety of dishes from creative and complex 'foodie' dishes to yummy comfort foods like fried chicken (yum!). 2. In addition to being a creative chef, she's also a great with the guests and always willing share (some) recipe secrets. read more

We had Susan cater our twins first birthday party and she was absolutely amazing!! We had her cook 5 different types of grilled cheese sandwiches. She came and made each sandwich to order. Everyone loved the food and she was a pleasure to have in our kitchen. Everything was spotless when she left. I am terrible at party planning and Susan was great at following up via email and meeting all my crazy requests. She came up with fun and creative ingredients that tasted amazing! We will definitely use her again as a personal chef and caterer. read more

I had eaten Wild Thyme catering at other events and was very impressed so I had them in my home to cater a private dinner to celebrate an occasion for my husband and me. Five courses of Heaven! We had Ahi Poke for amuse bouche, the best soup I've ever had - the Scallop chowder with tarragon, the classic Wild Thyme salad, a delicious mushroom and prosciutto stuffed pork tenderloin with veggies and potatoes and a flourless chocolate cake! All five courses were absolute Heaven! I'm looking forward to using them again in the future! Best caterer in the Beach Cities! read more

Just took a Zoom cooking class with Sue, Wild Thyme's awesome owner. I pretty much think Sue walks on water. Her cooking classes are fun, informative and so yummy. The amount of prep work she puts in is insane. Besides being a fantastic cook and caterer, Sue is a wonderful teacher. Can't wait for the next one! Highly recommend her for any type of foodie event! read more

Amazing Dinner thank you Susan! Wild Thyme prepared a remarkable dinner for four, and wisely they have some pre-set options that allow for quick offerings that will please everyone. The Shrimp stuffed with Pesto wrapped in Prosciutto, the grilled asparagus, Spicy Saucy Meat Balls, Crispy Skin Roasted Chicken Breast with Herb / Spinach Stuffing, the firecracker salmon, AND THE PEACH COBBLER!!! Knocked it out of the park!, BUT there was a rib dish on the menu that was to die for! This is a Must Try catering service from Redondo Beach, CA which offers boutique catering services throughout the Los Angeles area...just wanted to surprise my wife with an intimate dinner for 4 as we sheltered safe in Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes for a week in September, it was awesome. Susan was easy to work with and accommodated my 3 day in advance order (was recommended on a last minute request to Inspirato where I booked my Villa at Terranea.) Susan and team, we WILL be back! Don't miss this opportunity to have great food and great "ON TIME" delivery service or customized catering! read more

We were lucky to have Susan as bartender for our wedding last month. She is fantastic and went above and beyond! Many of our friends & family commented on what an amazing job she did. I must rave about Sue and Wild Thyme Catering! I have enjoyed her delicious dinners and luncheons for years. She is so professional and organized - I never had to worry about a thing. Sue provided us with a wine pairing dinner recently, delivered to our house. 7 courses, 7 wines. It was spectacular. Just the right amount of food, every course was delicious. I would highly recommend Wild Thyme! read more

We asked Wild Thyme to cater our wedding. We asked for a theme of fusion cuisine to blend Mormon, Polish, Chinese, and Teochew cuisine together and Wild Thyme knocked out out of the park! They rolled up and were able to work around how we had the ceremony and reception areas staged. When we gave them the signal to come in, they went right into setting up what they brought and food preparation. The appetizers they had prepared were a perfect, bite-sized tease to the wonderful flavor dance our taste buds would soon enjoy. It was a promising sight to see our guests lining up for the mocktails we had chosen and an even more promising view of the main courses having been nearly picked clean by our guests while Wild Thyme were making another batch. I grabbed a bit of everything for my plate and everything was so tasty! We even had a few guests coming up to our bride+groom table to specifically ask again what the food items were (again, we had a fusion cuisine blend of menu items) because they really liked it. My biggest regret with Wild Thyme, from the chaos of running around for photos of your own wedding, was that we didn't steal off with a bucket of any leftovers. It was THAT good and we are VERY happy. Thanks, Susan and Wild Thyme! read more

Wild Thyme catered a surprise birthday party I hosted for a good friend of mine earlier this month. I have heard nothing but rave reviews from my guests about the food. I did not have to worry about a thing. I highly recommend her read more

A friend of mine in Southern CA just became a mom for the first time and was finding it hard to keep up with her normal healthy eating habits with the demands of a new born. I decided I wanted to help her out by having delicious healthy food delivered to her house, but wasn't sure what was possible and had some specific ideas. Susan was a joy to work with and helped me pull together the PERFECT 'gift' meal' pack for my friend. She has an extensive menu of salads, sides and entrees and was also able to do a couple of special requests. It was all super easy to arrange from afar and my friend LOVED her gift. She said "The food is incredible, it's what I imagine they serve in heaven!" I will definitely be sending more gifts via Susan in the future and recommend this as a great way to help out the new mom friend in your life. read more

Susan is dedicated to the art of good taste! Starting with the ambience and ending with a full happy belly she always delivers an experience that is second to none. My helper and I went to Susan's home on a service call to repair the beautiful double wall oven she has. She knew we were going to be there for a couple of hours so Susan told us we were in for a treat, and that she was making lunch for us. Best residential service call I've ever done! She made us 6 sliders, with tater tots. We had chicken mango sliders, beef sliders with spicy coleslaw (amazing) and pulled pork! The food was amazing! We could not decide which was the best, they were all great! I know who I'm recommending and hiring for my catering! So glad we met you Susan! read more

I hired Susan to cater our small, backyard wedding reception of 30 ppl and she did an absolutely wonderful job. We had her do some passed Hors D'oeuvres, a buffet station for main course and then a few desserts and coffee station. She was able to work with our small budget and the food was all marvelous! I got so many compliments, not only about the food but about how great and friendly her and Ambra were. They were a pleasure to talk to! And they left the kitchen spotless! I would definitely recommend hiring Susan to cater your next event. I know I will be calling her again. read more

I have not only attended many dinner parties catered by Susan Kowalski of Wild Thyme Catering but have had her cater my own (as well as friends) birthday dinners. It seems so effortless for her to create an especially yummy night of food and drink. Susan can create a very tasty menu even if you aren't sure exactly what you want. Just give her key words like "spicy", "thai", "fried", etc. and she comes up with some damn good food. Susan loves to cook for people and her food shows that! read more

Creative, delicious food. Attractive presentation. Professional service. Easy to work with. What more could you ask??

We used Wild Thyme for a baby shower...Susan was extremely responsive, very good to work with, did not "nickel and dime me as others" for extras and her food received great reviews from all 25 in attendance. Would definitively use her again! read more

Very disappointed. Found caterer on Thumb Tack for 50+ person office event. All five star ratings on Thumb Tack. When the office sat down to eat it was discovered that most of the chicken was raw on the skewers. Noodles also were more like mash potatoes and mushy. All of the food so bad it was tossed out. When I voiced my disappointment to the caterer her comments were that she was sorry I was disappointed and perhaps she should have checked the chicken before it was delivered. She also acknowledged that she tried a new type of noodle and again sorry it was not to our liking. No discount offered. We paid bill, but will never use this caterer again. read more
