I stopped by about a week ago to pick up some Dubia roaches after calling ahead to check availability. The woman I spoke with on the phone was incredibly helpful and kind she took the time to walk me through all the options. When I visited in person, it was clear that the owners genuinely care for all animals. The Dubias also seemed properly, gut loaded and healthy. I noticed a real difference in my bearded dragons the next day they were more active and their colors looked brighter. That's a big contrast to the lower quality feeders you get at average pet stores which can leave your lizards sluggish. Overall, a great experience and I'll definitely be coming back. read more

It is not clean... pythons sharing small enclosures, very strong smells of uncleaned tanks and ammonia. My eyes nearly started to water. I saw Animals such as a chameleon that seemed very skinny, dirty tanks, missing labels, small spaces, poor substrate, just not well maintained. They have a great variety, but I would never trust a purchase from here. The owner is very nice, but the shop is poorly maintained. read more

Went to wild things and bought a tarantula from them, turned out to be mislabeled and the wrong tarantula, messages them about it they said it was a supplier error and that they would make it right, they gave me a partial refund. I bought a baby Bearded Dragon from this place in 2021. Now 2026 I had to say goodbye to him because this place does not breed their reptiles for health. I lost my Bearded Dragon because of organ failure.. I worked with my vet for over a year to try to save his life. The vet said he was bred poorly and the pet store was not breeding healthy reptiles. I did everything correct for my beardie. I know someone else that bought a Tegu from them and it had health issues as well and lived about 3 years. This place has poor breeding practices. I do not recommend this place at all for buying any living creature. Save yourself heartache and buy from a reputable breeder that breeds for health, not just profit! read more

We went to Wild Things the other day to check it out. They are currently remodeling. I hope they will increase the amount of room people have to move around. The aisles near the animal cages is narrow. Animals: They had snakes, bearded dragons, bunnies, tarantulas, one turtle, several tortoises, toads, iguanas, tegus, and skinks. Animal care: The animals all appeared to be well-fed and happy. Every cage was clean. Staff: They were super attentive, but didn't hover. Every single person was kind, knowledgeable, eager to help, and just generally had a good friendly vibe. Accessories: There were all the necessities for reptiles, snakes, etc. 3D Printing: There's a very cool and interesting selection of dragon fidget toys and Pokemon figures. They were very impressive. Let me preface by saying I've worked for many vets, large and small. I can handle animal smells but this place had SUCH AN OVERWHELMING smell of ammonia and urate I could only stand to be in this store for about 1 minute before I had to leave. Man.. don't know where to start.. but let's start by my family and i.. are new to the reptilian family. July of last year, we welcome my daughters 1st baby.. a corn snake. Not knowing and being first time reptile.. we went to petsmart (mcdonalds of pet store). Several month later, my wife wanted a bearded dragon, and so again, petsmart it was. Well.. it got sick and pass within 1 week.. due to parasites and respiratory infection. Well.. you tube sure help and guided me to go do more research on babies instead of going to a huge franchise... and so here we are.. WILD THINGS! Thank you Jim & Steph. Jim usually works the counter or maintenance with the facility and all, but he's still there to help or assist. Steph, was the one who really helped or family soak it in for our new babies. We stopped in initially just to gather information and were blown away by the level of customer service. The staff member who helped us took the time to thoroughly answer all of our questions, showed us the bearded dragons, and never made us feel rushed. We came back the next day to purchase our bearded dragon, and she made sure to go over all the care information again and even demonstrated proper cleaning procedures. I love wild things. I'm just getting back into the hobby after a few years of only keeping a bearded dragon and wild things has EVERYTHING from spring tails and leaf litter to beautiful animals. Steff the owner seems to really care about the animals and where they end up. She was awesome to chat with and really helped me get a new perspective on certain reptile practices. I went in to see the store since and maybe get some stuff for my spider and left with the most beautiful blue tongue skink I even called the next day to ask a question and steff was super friendly and had the answer ready, she remembered us and the skink which really gives me confidence in her investment in the wellbeing of the reptile. So my hubby and I ended up inheriting a snake and two leopard geckos from a rescue, and we knew close to nothing. We went to other reptile stores and were given absolutely incorrect information several times the best place you can go for anything involving lizards, snakes, reptiles of any kind is this one. the shop owners are knowledgeable, approachable, professional. The store is clean for its size. I was surprised that it didn't smell. The last few stores that I had gone into have all smelled uncontrollably, and this store was organized, and clean, and it has a lot of reptiles and it has a dog and it has rats in the back and bugs and things that you can just see beyond the stretched eye and the place does not smell. They take great pride, taking care of these animals and providing good homes for them. If you are looking for a place to find food, equipment or knowledge or even purchase a new reptile or pet. This is the place. And on top of everything, the owners 3-D print some of the cutest Pokémon things you have ever seen so if you're a fan run, don't walk to the store. December 8, 2021 - As we were leaving the parking lot (we just ate dinner at Pho Bistro, so yummy!) we saw that Wild Things were still open. Thanks to Jay from Prehistoric Pets, I was able to bravely go by the snakes. They are very knowledgeable on these fascinating creatures. We like to stop by on occasion to see reptiles, so many different reptiles and they look very healthy. I apologize but I forgot their names, but the young man was telling us about the mansion he made for his, I believe it was a bearded dragon. Sometimes his daughter goes and helps feed the animals. They are well taken care of. The young lady asked what made me afraid of snakes and I told her, so she brought one out and just like you teach others with fears of animals you hold the head so the scared person can touch them. I used the one finger thing and that was enough for me. Snakes aren't slimy like I always think, they are sort of like leathery. But hey I touched the snake, so I'm proud of me, not quite ready to hold one yet. We enjoyed all these beautiful creatures and their knowledgeable care takers! Went in today for the first time. The animal cages we're sparse and dry, especially the chameleons. Girl at the front was awkward and on her phone. I was very worried when I saw a Hot Shot No Pest strip on top of the iguana cage. I have experience with this pesticide because I work for the health department and cite facilities that use the poison around animals, people, or food. Poor animals are being poisoned. I tried to warn the front desk girl about the dangers of exposure to the vapors for the animals (maybe she didn't know) She shrugged it off...said they use it for mites on the animals and that she's left it in enclosures for a month with no issues. If that's true, it's a miracle! I've been to a seminar where it's use was demonstrated and it's extremely lethal. Here is the warning for the use of Hot Shot. Maybe now they'll read it and give a crap. Sad. Prices were extremely low for animals so I find comfort knowing they have a good chance of adoption. read more

I've been in the reptile industry 10+ years and I've NEVER seen such a cruel reptile store... animals weren't properly taken care of they only care if the animals being seen to make money and not if the animal has a hide . Went in mainly because I wanted to find a nice piece of drift wood for my baby hognose snake. This place is horrible. To start they have multiple snakes housed in small tanks and the baby bearded dragons looked like half of them were missing the tips of their tails and few looked close to not making it. I normally support small businesses especially reptile shops but the lack of care in this place is astounding. read more

I normally don't make reviews but I do not recommend this place at all. After consulting with other snake owners and other pet stores, the care of the snakes at Wild Things is below average and disappointing. I had a snake before for 15 years and regardless of tank size, heat, or anything stress related he was always living. I bought a het pied banana ball python from them for $275 and it died two and a half days after being home, as it didn't make it to day 3. I purchased a terrarium, two hiding homes (one for the cold side & one for the warm side of the tank), substrate, a heating pad, a day & night lamp, a humidity checker, a water bowl, two fake plants, and a stick to climb. I even bought a rat from them which was the exact one they said they were feeding him & I attempted to feed him which he did not want to eat it, I personally thought the "pup rat" that they were feeding him was big for him but he was not even trying to eat it. Was in the feeding tank for about 35 minutes to the point where the rat went to sleep. The very next day, I left my house for 30 minutes came back & he was dead. No explanation for this, as he was being cared for, he drank his water which I included the picture I took when he was doing this, he was offered food, had a balanced terrarium, and I did not mess with him for those two days except trying to feed him as I know they need a week or so to adapt to the new environment. I am not sure why he died exactly but other snake experts I have talked to said that it could not have been from something I did as I only had him for two days. I was so upset, I called everyone I know in tears, even had a burial for him, and it was hard to even write this as I was so excited to finally get another snake. read more

Love this place, went for food for our bearded Dragon. The workers are very nice and informative, they have a beautiful dog named Ghost that welcomed us as we walked in. All the animals were well taken care of and everything was clean. Also prices are way better than pet smart or petco. Definitely would recommend to anyone n who has reptiles. read more

This place is definitely my favorite reptile store in the valley. I've been to just about EVERY reptile spot in Vegas. Once I found this place I stopped going anywhere else. The owner is knowledgeable and if she doesn't know something, instead of BS'ing you, she will direct you to someone who does (I haven't found much that she doesn't know though). The first few times I went there I didn't even buy anything. Just sat and picked her brain. She was patient and answered any and all questions I had. Since then I've bought multiple animals and all of my feeders and supplies there. Their pricing is better than most places I've seen and have a good selection of reptiles. Morally, I can't continue to support this business. I typically only come here for feeders and occasional enclosure enrichment supplies. Animal conditions have always been subpar, but they seem to be exponentially declining with each visit. Enclosures are housing multiple solitary species and there was a literal tub container with at least 7 adult ball Pythons just sitting unattended on a shelf. I wish I had taken pictures but I was so disgusted I had to walk away. If anyone has any recommendations for humane and ethical reptile shops, please let me know because today was my last visit to Wild Things. read more

I will give my 100% honest opinion about this store. I know that in the reptile community Steff is pretty well known and knowledgeable in reptile care. I don't understand why that doesn't extend to her store. 1. Guinea pigs and rabbits can NOT be kept together. They can transfer zoonotic diseases and harm each other. They need a constant hay source. The cage is bare with soiled bedding and no toys, hide, nothing at all. Poor things. 2. The arboreal species look so miserable. Dry, stuck shed, some don't even have anything to climb on. No where to hide at all. 3. A lot of the snakes have stuck shed. 4. Hides are a necessity for most snakes and I can count with my hands how many hides were there. The poor reptiles look miserable and if this subpar care is just to save money that's so sad. Beautiful animals but bad conditions. read more

Innovative, custom displays and the plethora of unique decor available really lend a certain atmosphere to the place, even before you enter. The cages with animals in them were clean. They had a few unusual species. But many of the cages did not have animals in them. Something I found odd was the outside, from the outside of the store it almost looks like it could be a trinket shop to the casual observer, there is nothing that immediately stands out that says its primary function inside is "pet shop". A definite down side is the smell. Very odd and it permeates the entire space. If that were reduced it would be 4 stars easily. If Yelp allowed half stars I would probably give it 3.5. read more
