I went to Wild Oats to have my belly button pierced about a week ago. My whole experience was not great, it was okay/good. I don't visit many tattoo parlors but Wild Oats smelled like cigarettes a bit, but overall gave off a cool vibe. The man who checked me in and the other who actually pierced me were both quick. Not short or rude, but as if they had other things to be doing and other things on their mind so they weren't too bothered to walk me through any process or take their time. When getting other piercings before I've just been used to someone taking their time, politely making small talk, etc. All in all they did a good job and I love my piercing. I walked in with my two teenagers (15 & 16) for an ear piercing. The girl behind the counter asked for their ID and mine. We all gave her 3 State issued driver licenses and she wouldn't do the piercing without original birth certificates! WTF. So we can fly, drive, get a doctors appointment, but can't get ears pierced? . We only went there because tattoo bills was closed today who by the way pierced their others ears without an ID at all but accepted my parental consent. what a joke. I do not recommend. I had a wonderful experience trying out this shop recently. I went in on short notice to get my ears pierced and the staff was very helpful to get things moving. After a bit of a wait, I was brought back and they began the piercing procedure. The lady helping me informed me about everything and made me feel comfortable about everything. After finishing up, they informed me of what I should to in order to keep everything healthy and free of infection. The price was $40 for both ears which is comparable to other shops in the area. My friend took me here to get my cartilage pierced. Everything was super clean and my ear (now one week later) is great. I was nervous and the guy that pierced my ear was really relaxed which made me less nervous. The piercing went well and wasn't painful at all. I got a sheet with all the info of how to keep it clean, when it should be healed, and when I could change the ring into a different ring/stud. I love the placement of my cartilage and will come again for my midway later. My friend had her nose pierced here (few months back) and her front helix, along with a tattoo - she is very pleased with everything! Again, everytime I come here I feel like I'm at home... I've been coming here since 2013... This is the only place in Charlotte I come to get tattooed and thr only place I recommend to others.. I've been tattooed by 3 artists there and every time I am extremely happy with the end product. I live 5 hours away in Virginia now and I still come down here to get a tattoo! That says a lot.. Super clean and friendly. Was very welcoming and open atmosphere. Came in on vacation and have this thing of getting tattoos when I visit new place. At first I was super indecisive of what to get because nothing out here really stuck out to me so I spoke to he receptionist/piercer and he was super flexible and forward on pricing (inexpensive but great quality of work) and set me up with an artist that he felt fit for what I was asking for. the artist that did my tattoo was named easy and he literately easy to work with and super friendly and great at conversation (most artist do there own thing and not really have conversation with you). Let's start off from the moment I walked in the place 2 1/2 months ago... Chris was highly rude and almost made me walk out! He was grumpy, very short with me, and I was nervous trying to pull up a clear picture of what I wanted. Plus he had a bad personality and was in a very awful mood. He wasn't very helpful or suggesting at all. I wanted a simple quote with a small Cheshire cat eyes and grin. I'm giving 2 stars because the quote I got was nicely done. I gave a nice tip, because while I was getting it done he was nice to me and actually talked here and there.. and I was in a good mood and anxious, because I had new ink .. However, the Cheshire cat and his grin looked absolutely nothing like the Cheshire cat at all. Once I got home and actually looked at my tattoo the eyes were crooked and one was CLEARLY smaller than the other. His grin looked like it had human teeth with a bucked tooth smile. Everyone that knows Alice in Wonderland, knows the teeth are supposed to be jagged and creepy in a way.. It was horrible!! Not to mention he pretty much cut into my skin when he did the smile. It looked like a SCRATCHER TATTOO done in prison and didn't heal well!! .. I was able to get TATTOO BILLS to redo it for me a week ago!!! Thankfully!! Now I have a beautifully done piece .. I have been to wild oats tattoos for my nose piercing and my previous tattoos and they have done excellent work but this was about 3-4 years ago. I decided to go by there today for another tattoo but Ethan who was going to be giving me my tattoo was very rude from the beginning so I decided to go elsewhere. I have always recommended people get their tattoos and piercings from here but will not anymore after today. I would advise the owner address this issue so he learns how to engage with prospective customers better or you will only lose more people who loved a once great place to get tattoos and piercings. read more

So-I went in for a nose piercing and the girl refused to allow me to have it done! I told her I had it done a few months ago but took the nose ring out almost two weeks ago and it closed up. Received a tattoo here about 4-5 months ago. Now that its healed its definitely lacking in some areas. My artist was very argumentative about what I wanted to get so I ended up having to get something completely different from what I wanted. I realize there is compromise in this business but this guy flat out said no to everything, then could seem to careless while he was actually doing the work. The end result shows his lack of caring. First and foremost the person I was trusting my body with never introduced themselves and from the start has the worst attitude of anyone I have ever met. The lady at the front desk was the only person in the whole establishment with any kind of human decency. The so called "professional artist" gave me the ugliest faces when I told him what I wanted and where I wanted it even after getting the tattoo and location pre approved. Artist was a bully. I had expected the cost of my tattoos to be higher than what the price they gave me. I've had both tattoos for abouta year now and they still look as good as the day I got them. The rooms were nicely set up as was the waiting room. I am actually planning on going back to get my nostril re-pierced and I will definitely be going back in the future to get more artwork. read more

Firstly, if I could give this 0 stars I would. I felt very uncomfortable in this establishment when I went for a tattoo. The lady at the front desk didn't really want to talk and when I went back, the person I was trusting to do my tattoo didn't introduce himself and there was loud music playing. He kept making faces at me for where and how I wanted my tattoo. He kept pressuring me by saying "just do it" multiple times. After being uncomfortable and annoyed because of how the artist was treating me, I decided not to get the tattoo and he got mad and told me to pay him $50 for a "set". I proceeded to ask him where I pay and he told me the front desk and threw the table against the wall. I went to the front to pay and got $40 out of my wallet and while I was looking for $10 more and he said "that's enough" and snatched it away from the desk. I am VERY disappointed and feel like I have been ripped off. read more

The quality of their tattoos are awesome, but customer service plays a huge role in running a business and they just did not know how to talk to people. There is a way to be blunt and voice your professional opinion without coming off in such rude manner. People are coming to your business to pay you to do what you do best and you should not act like you're way too good to help them with something "simple" they may want. Very unprofessional. The shop itself is very nice and clean. I was impressed when I walked in. I spoke to the young man at the front desk and he was very helpful and professional. He made me an appointment with Chris at noon the following day. I showed up at noon but the guy assigned to my appointment didn't show up until 35 min later. He was sick also, hacking and coughing away. I understand needing to make money and help the business but I was a little weary that I would catch something too. He didn't say hi or introduce himself. A younger girl walked in shortly after and asked Chris if she needed to make an appointment or if they accept walk ins.. he told her there would be an hour and a half wait.. she said OK and he walked to the back. The guy working the desk came back up and tried to offer her advice about what she wanted to get done, while they were talking Chris walked back up front and said "look lady it's an hour and a half wait, you can come back in hour and a half or go somewhere else." His attitude was baffling because the girl wasn't rude or anything she just wanted another person's opinion. She of course went somewhere else. Shortly after he brought a drawing up for me to look at.. I just wanted a daisy with some words around it.. the daisy was a wonky mess. Half the petals were shorter than the other side and the lines were incredibly shakey. I ended up not getting anything done that day. The other staff was incredibly kind and professional and their portfolios are great. Not trying to bad mouth because I'm no artist myself but the guy I had needs to brush up on his customer service and a little on his drawings . Maybe he was having a bad day.. I don't know.
