This place gave a weird vibe, I walked in with a tattoo in mind and there was nobody at the counter even though the bell went off. I walked in and started looking to see if I saw an employee around. One did end up approaching me and asked what I wanted, I told her and she was like nope can't do it. I was like, okay maybe she's not comfortable which is understandable, then I asked for a small cactus behind the ear, she said nope it would have to be bigger. Lastly I showed her a simple black tattoo on the wrist, I was about to do it but then I asked for the price, she said $100-$120 for a black wrist tattoo. I said never mind and left. I've gotten many tattoos in different places I visit, and never had an experience like this, it was definitely weird and I don't plan on returning. read more

I went to many stores in Gastonia before this. Either they couldn't do it, didn't want to, or were just extremely rude to me and my mother. We ended up going here, the service was really quick, the person that did my nose piercing talked me through it and told me the after care. It was a really nice place and they were all njce ! Frank and Chris were awesome. I didn't have a wait time. As soon as I walked in I got squared away with my information and time to get my nose pierced. I was super nervous but they both helped me by talking and making me laugh. It was done in no time and I was out of there. Maybe it took all of 30 minutes. I'll be back because I want some tattoos. The wait was so long, and they skipped us when other people came in after us. Even for a walk in, we waited and were patient when there was a short line. But we got skipped for people who had walk ins after us, and there was 0 interest in helping us out as customers. read more

Went here to get my first tattoo and the woman, Wilson, who did my tattoo was amazing! She reassured me by answering all of my questions and she played some great music which helped distract me! During the healing process so far I haven't had to contact her but she gave me all the information to call her if I was concerned or had anymore questions! This review isn't aimed at a specific artist but my experience from 3 of my tattoos that came from here. My 3 tattoos aren't terrible, but they also aren't that great. 2 of them are about 15 years old at this point and the third is much more recent. The most recent one is probably the best of the 3. I've been lucky from what I've seen as I have seen some bad tattoos come out of this shop. It is clean, inexpensive and they take cards. Given the close proximity to Charlotte, you can have a much better tattoo by driving 20 minutes up the road. read more

I am reviewing ONE person at Ink Link, want that to be clear b/c I have seem some awful work come outta that place. Anyways, I go to the Asian guy, Lambo. He is honest, straight to the point, a little cocky, but fucking talented. Always works in a clean space, and his equipment is properly maintained. Uses good quality ink, and needles too. I joke about his delicate Asian touch, but I'm serious his hand work is probably the least painful I've had, and I've worked with 4 other artists in the past getting my fair share of work done. A lot of artist will dig the damn needle in, but he understands the anatomy of the skin, which is helpful in understanding how to tattoo various types of skin. Last time I went, I brought a friend, and she was pleased with him, she is coming back for more with her husband. Dude has hella talent, and you should check him out for your tattoo needs. read more

So we won't into Ink Link to get matching tattoos with my best friend. We went into as a walk in and Jade ended up taking us. Jade dug in way too deep with both of our tattoos. The whole experience was very rushed with both of our tattoos. Horrible bedside manner. When we called up there because it was a horrible tattoo, Jeff was extremely helpful and he genuinely wanted to help us make the best out of the situation. We went up there and when we walked in, it was a whole new experience. It felt welcoming and everyone was so sweet. We found out Jade no longer works there. Jimmy was the tattoo artist that fixed it. He was super polite, understanding and above all, what a true tattoo artist should be. He made it look like a whole new tattoo. Thank you Jeff & Jimmy. We love it. read more

I came in a few ago to get my septum piercing. I'm not from the area and the tattoo/ piercing shop I had all my previous piercings done at service definitely would receive the full 5 stars. The sign in process is awkward to me to say the least. I waited about 30-45 minutes. They took my name down and I would say there was 2 people whom came together ahead of me. They too were still waiting. The piercer was young I can't recall her name but she was full 5 star service! Unfortunately their routine sign in is a mess. Anyways, after the girls were asked to come up to show ID and complete their paperwork they went in took about 15 minutes for them to come out. Finally it's my turn and they have me doe the same show ID pay ($20 to be exact) and then go in. At my previous shop they had you fill out paperwork to kill time it definitely gets things rolling. Then I get my piercing they literally don't bother me so it took about 5-7 minutes for mine. Definitely could work on their process and maybe watch their topic of conversation because you have many different customers. Watch your words it's just bad for business. read more

I wish I could've given negative stars. I went in today for a bellybutton piercing. I nicely told the lady what I came in for, and she said "I can't do that" in the rudest way possible. I had been told last year by another employee that if I came in with my jewelry I could get pierced for $10. This lady proceeds to call the previously mentioned employee, and while waiting for him to answer, as she's still sitting in a chair in front of me and my friends--didn't even bother to get her butt out of the chair upon our entrance--she holds her hand out for my jewelry and tells me it's "unsanitary" to use my jewelry. I explained to her that this other employee told me it was possible and she continues to tell me she can't do it. Well the other employee answers and tells her they CAN do it, but it has to be put through the autoclave, which is what I expected, as anyone should. This lady just didn't want to be bothered today and that's it. I went down the street to Chaos and got exactly what I wanted. read more

We went to get my nose pierced, and they took us as a walk up and had us in the back within about ten minutes. Heather and Frankie (an apprentice) had the best bedside manners and the most stellar personalities. She offered to let Frankie pierce my nose and assured me that he's a fast learner and to be trusted. She was 1000% right. Both were awesome, personable, and professional. The piercing took one clean time to go through, and we'll be back for future piercings (and tattoos, just by sheer virtue of the professionalism). read more

Ink Link doesn't have the best reputation, but I have had 3 tattoos done by Kurt Elkins there. He is the only one I have trusted there but he has yet to disappoint, not to mention he's nice to look at! Some of the other artists are kinda grungy looking but the tattoos I see leaving look pretty amazing. I'll stick with Kurt! read more

Went here on Saint Patrick's day to get my septum pierced and the girl that did it wouldn't tell me her name or even the gauge used to do the piercing. Was told the wrong thing to clean it with. Was told that I could switch it out after 4 weeks and when I called back recently to see if I could come in when its time to have it changed the head piercer said that it needed to wait until 2 - 3 months after the initial piercing. If everyone was on the same page then it would be a better place for piercings. Just the girl I had wasn't very good. She has me wanting to give one star but know that not everyone is as rushy as her is why I gave 3 stars. read more

I came in last night to get some piercings , the price was decent but the customer service was awful. The lady who pierced me was rude and didn't say anything except "you don't need to hold on to that , you're fine". She didn't even give me a mirror to check and see if it was straight where she marked it. She was rude , looked at me like I was an idiot. I was truly dissapointed with the customer service I received. If you're looking for a decent price and horrible customer service then this is place for you. After over 2 hours of waiting my turn for a tattoo, I was finally helped by one of the artists. After looking at his work I thought I had nothing to worry about, all of his work looked clean and well-done. I was getting a small piece with almost no detail, and he took his time and was very friendly. However, when I got home I noticed how many mistakes there were. Not only is it not proportional, but the shading is not very consistent there are a number of areas that appear to be much darker than others. I hate to say this but I am very disappointed and I will never return here again. read more

The Ink Link(old Choas building) has the worst piercing "artist" I have ever experienced. Matt begane the piercing process for my friend at 11:45, finally ending at 12:45, after constantly lining up the hole and backing out for varios reasons. Then I attempted to get my tongue repierced. The hole was still visible to line up after my previous piercing. After 15 minutes he halfway pierced my tungue then pulled the needle back out, saying my lip was in the way. I realized he had no confidence in himself to do even simple piercings and requested my money back. This man needs to apprentice longer! I have had 16 piercings in the past and never had that much trouble. I also suggested 3 other piercings I wanted before my tongue and he told me he couldnt do any of them. read more
