Can't believe I didn't write this one sooner. When moving to the area I knew I wanted to get a tattoo for my kids but wasn't sure where to go. Ultimately all the reviews led me to Tattoo Me Charlotte. My first I worked with Sami to craft up the perfect tribute to my two kiddos, and my baby that never was. It incorporated their nicknames in a beautiful way that I get compliments on all the time with a mix of flowers, bees, and watercolors. My second was on a whim with my husband after celebrating our 8th anniversary. My husband has also gotten two tattoos here as well that are stunning. His Starry Night one other shops didn't think was possible, but Stacy crushed it. The location is clean, the artists are all so fun and dedicated to their craft, and all around the vibe is perfect. Only wish that some of the artists would do more back and forth prior to the appointment to nail down the design draft rather than while you're in the shop - would cut down on the wait time, especially if there is a lot of initial back and forth. read more

Recently I have asked Stacy and her staffs if she can host a private painting and BYOB event for a group of my angry friends. They need a moment to woosaaaa!! She have hosted a painting class on Feb 13th and I loved it.. So some of my friends saw it and asked if I can make it happen again.. Ummmm sure let me perform miracle. But to my surprise.. Stacy and Heather said yes with no issue at all.. We set a date and time.. I was really late with giving them the money because I have to collected it from my friends. Talking about a group of ppl who literally do everything last min.. I was about to just cancel the event because I was soo frustrated.. On top of that we arrived an hour late because we were busy arguing about political stuffs during dinner. Yet Stacy and Heather doesn't seem mad once.. The night went well.. My friends seem to be really relaxed.. No more political talks.. The painting look sooo awesome.. No doubt in my mind.. GUYS. My life has been changed. I am in disbelief at the incredible talent that is (Tara Long/TaraRising Tattoos) She made the ugly compulsive "prison tattoo" I got at 17 look amazing. Like honestly, I can't recommend her enough. I looked ALL OVER for the perfect tattoo artist, like messaged so many people and looked at the works of SO MANYYYY people from NC, SC, GA, TN, etc and then Tara was recommended and I looked no further. Tattoo Me has a warm and welcoming vibe and does not feel like your typical tattoo shop (in a good way)! I booked my appointment with Stacy 6 months ago and it was worth the wait. I had an idea of what I was looking for and an inspiration photo. Stacy talked through the design with me and made suggestions that I hadn't thought about, as a result the design was perfect! I absolutely love my tattoo. I have already received multiple compliments, most along the lines of: "it looks like an actual piece of art on your arm" and I couldn't agree more. Stacy made the process as painless as possible by providing an iPad, head phones, snacks, and a mini fridge full of water and juice. Have visited many a tattoo shop over the years and nothing has compared to the professionalism and atmosphere you get here. You almost forget you're being poked for hours on end with the Netflix and snack set up, and staring at all the pretty art on the walls Then you get to leave with personalized art, probably even more beautiful then you had imagined in your head. Tyler Hall is great, very talented, very friendly. I would recommend him to anyone. However, my advice to him, pack your things and and rent a booth at a more professional studio, you deserve better. The atmosphere was nagging. 3 immature females up front the entire time being loud and dropping the F bomb like 2nd nature. I, And another patron looked at one another while waiting (an hr + after our appointment and just shook our heads at the frat party mindset of these women), no...professionalism in this studio whatsoever. They charge by the hr, but what they think they're getting away with is putting you in the chair and then spending 1 hr getting everything ready when it should only take them 10 minutes if they weren't so busy cackling and being school girls. I..was quoted $250 with a $50 deposit on what should have only been a $150 tat, but I went. Once completed and up front..I was informed that my exit price was $450 not counting my $50 deposit. Well..I paid the $250 and left. What are you gonna do? Take it back? Fuck TattooMe. Don't recommend unless you plan on taking a bathtub of PJ and are ready to party and pay out your ass. Very unprofessional atmosphere. No business...being in business. Tyler... find a better my man. You deserve better. read more

I got a tattoo done yesterday by Grace, and let me just say this was the most amazing experience. She was so nice and answered all of my endless questions with a smile on her face. She showed just as much, maybe more, excitement about this tattoo and it just meant the world to me. She's very light handed and has amazing technique for a much more bearable experience. She also remembered all of the many, many ideas I had thrown out there and designed a piece that was totally fit to my personality and interests, but also something completely unexpected and her own. First off the location of the shop is great, the shop itself is so cute and the people there are so awesome! Heather and Natalia. Such fun and welcoming ladies who greeted me the moment I walked in. Heather has always helped me book my appointments without hesitation. She's so awesome. I had an appointment with violet and man was I excited. Her work is A M A Z I N G!! She listened to exactly what I wanted to the littlest detail of it and literally brought it to life. She's so patient and communicates every single step of it. Very focused yet still made me feel comfortable making conversation with me which I appreciated a lot. I have about 7 tattoos and this one was the one that hurt the least getting. She has a very gentle hand. I absolutely loved it! It's my 4th time coming to this shop and each time I leave even happier. They're great! So if you're looking for a tattoo please check them out! I've followed Stacy's work now for a while on Instagram and her art definitely speaks for itself. So when my wife was interested in her first tattoo, I told her we should check out Tattoo Me Charlotte. Stacy was booked out for a bit and she wanted her tattoo a little sooner, so we decided to book with Jamie. No regrets. Jamie was super interested in exactly what she wanted and the specifics of it all. He took some time to sketch her design, discuss coloring, and iron out everything perfectly for her first tattoo. It came out great. It was a really cool experience, plus he had some entertaining stories to boot. I had something in mind as well for myself that day (kind of), but we ended up evolving my idea quite a bit and decided to schedule a few days later to give it more time. I definitely felt like he was interested in coming up with something cool together. As far as the shop goes, it's a really cool space. There's a huge window for plenty of sunlight and it seemed cleaner than other shops I've seen. After my appointment with Jamie I have another one further out with Stacy, and my wife already scheduled her second and third with Jamie. I definitely recommend the shop. Update: I went back for my session with Jamie and it went really well. Super happy with what we came up with, even though it was an entirely new idea. Will return for sure. Mega Update: Aaaand I just had my session with Stacy. What's there to say? Of course it was amazing. She's super accommodating... especially when I was going back and forth 15 times on the font... the final piece turned out fantastically. I've wanted my Thoreau quote and banner forever, but wanted the right artist to do it. Stacy turned out to be that artist. She's great at what she does and has a super awesome personality. I anticipated my tattoo by Stacy Smith for several months and I was not let down in the least. The artwork of my piece -- a rendition of The Beatles' Abbey Road on my inner bicep -- is stunning. Stacy took time to bring the concept to life with her watercolor originality. She also was amazing to work with one-on-one for the hours we spent together. Stacy was my artist and I had a wonderful experience. The shop was clean and gorgeous and everyone was friendly. This was before their 2018 renovation, so it's probably even more gorgeous now. When I arrived, Stacy had a beautiful image drawn up, but was willing to work with me on a few alterations/additions. While she worked, my partner and I sat and chatted with Bobby Williams and other shop members and had a really lovely time. Stacy's workspace is upstairs in a separate loft area, which was really nice since I had to be topless for the design. She was quick and communicative and very professional and compassionate when I got a little emotional about the tattoo's inspiration. Overall great experience for my first tattoo and I look forward to coming back to Tattoo Me again in the future :). (Also, Stacy is just an incredible artist. Not the shop for you if you have a specific tattoo you want. I was denied by two of their artists- both of which were skilled in the style I wanted- because my design wasn't good enough to build their portfolio. Instead they would only offer their apprentice, who's portfolio did not look anything like the style I needed, OR a guest artist with an $800 minimum fee. Their artists seem very talented, but will only choose to work with people who will help them climb their ladder. read more

I got tattooed by Maren(@pixieecattoos) back in June! She tattooed myself and my best friend! It was the easiest tattoo experience I've had in quite some time. It was quick and she's so sweet to be around it's easy to relax. And the STUDIO! Tattoo Me is one of the COOLEST studios I've ever been to!! It's so clean, orderly and so very very cute!! My boyfriend and I found Bobby Williams work on Instagram and we just knew that we had to make the trek from NYC to Charlotte to visit him. After emailing to schedule an appointment, we found out that like any amazing artist Bobby was booked up a few months out, but he agreed to come in on his BIRTHDAY to do my boyfriend's tattoo! Bobby is a hell of a guy, I can't say enough good things about him. We spent about 7 hours with him and he makes the time fly by with awesome stories and hilarious jokes. Immaculate shop, insanely clean even on every picture frame, light fixture and surface. I was tattooed there for 3.5 hours and felt safe and comfortable. My only experience at this shop was with Chad and it was the most difficult conversation about a tattoo I have ever had. Definitely not worth the visit with him if you have a challenging color tattoo that is anything outside of his current "style" that you might see on his instagram. So, I got a tattoo by Stacey a little over a year ago, where we discussed a "CUSTOM" mermaid design. However, today 7/9, I discovered the same exact tattoo on Google images & Pinterest, dug a little deeper and found the "Original" artist. My experience was a little off compared to my friend who has been tattooed there several times, however, I was happy with the finished product and just decided not to go back, as I do think think they have a preference (SKIN TONES) as to who they want to tattoo. I'm more upset that I didn't google mermaid tattoos before hand -___- read more
