They have a lot of ethnic produce and foods, but enough regular items to do almost your entire grocery shop here. They were busy, but taking all the necessary precautions for covid19 -- everyone with masks and gloves, and tape on the floor for distancing at the registers. The aisles are a bit narrow with so much inventory, but you can manage. We got some very sweet watermelon (excellent price), bananas (good price), and mushrooms (comparable pricing). In the non-fresh items, I was thrilled to see corn and olive oils in reasonable and smaller sized containers -- as well as spaghetti sauce (a small jar that I snapped up); canned pears (haven't seen these anywhere), and even toilet paper (by the roll but still decently priced). Looking for meat? They have it here. All sorts and a lot of it. I only got some pork chops (2 gorgeous ones for under $5!) as I have almost no room in my tiny top freezer. If you look for the store brands, you can save even more money on some items. I've always enjoyed trying items outside my comfort zone. When traveling I try to go to the local stores to explore. This brought back good memories. And my husband was more than happy to buy to try some guava paste and a box of passion fruit juice. So glad we came here to check them out. The first thing I noticed about this establishment is the off putting smell when you first enter the store. It basically smells like a butcher shop since their meat section is near the entrance and all that air gushes at you when the automatic sliding doors open. This is a store run by Hispanics. I at first thought it was a Hispanic store (just how there are Indian stores and oriental East Asian stores), however it's just a regular quick stop grocery store. They have the basic produce and shelf items you can find at any store. The only difference is that over here the prices are cheaper as is the quality. I'm not sure which days they get a fresh delivery, but once I find out, I will be sure to write a tip about it. My favorite thing to get here is the dulce de leche ice cream pops (which are conveniently located near checkout) they have and the spicy jalapeño plantain chips (and a couple of the produce if I'm in the area).

However, I was surprised to see that many of the produce shelves and the chicken and meat cases were not fully stocked. It wasn't late in the evening either I was there around 4:30 PM while plenty of customers were shopping. I honestly expected to see staff actively restocking the shelves. I picked up some spices, but overall I wasn't especially impressed with the selection or presentation at this store.

I had tried to time it for a couple weeks, and the other day, thanks to a heads up from my gal, I nailed one. It was about 4 and a half meals, a really good deal. They aren't ones I would have picked my self, but pleasant surprises all the same. The Chicken marsala meal was especially good. I wouldn't get the meal deal every week, but it's a nice way to save money. Whole Foods has many other pricey options too, that make your own salad is a great option too.
