Pleasantly Kicked Out of Our Comfort Zone:…read more What a Gorgeous Night to be out & about, with Beau, on the night before the Full Moon, during Derby Week, in Bowling Green. We'd never been here before, thus, we were new to this scene! Even stepping in seemed an experience, following behind two ladies, donned in Derby Hats, & their two dapper gentlemen, who smiled, held open the door, & graciously waved us in!! Then, at a long table we happily joined, our extended, car fanatic family. Thus, the festivities began, as our evening flowed pleasantly.. What We Found : Service: Friendly & Attentive.. Our iced tea was refilled & our tables kept clean. And our server, steered us in the right direction, in recommending the Surf & Turf dinner, which was Delightful.. Ambiance: Lofty & Modern Aesthetic, with Rustic Elements. (But still too modern, for our liking). Nearby, seemed a nicer table: with a wooden tent like canopy, situated near a great hearth.. Food: Generous portions of entrees & sides. The hearty sides, are served family style. We ordered: Bacon Cornbread; Mac & Cheese; Roasted Brussel Sprouts; Roasted Mushrooms; & Truffle Fries. These Tasted Divine... Especially the bacon cornbread, served with a dollop of brown butter, which disappeared in no time!! Whilst our Surf & Turf Dinner, of: Shrimp & Beef, served on skewers, atop a bed of Fried Rice, Kicked Us Out of Our Comfort Zone. This was quite unlike the country cuisine of Bowling Green, for so long known!! And, the horseradish sauce, served alongside, seemed rich & robust!! Indeed, the menu seemed to convey the chef's creative touch!! However, our friend beside us, bemoaned that his elk steak dinner, was mostly burnt!! To the staff, not saying a word!! Moreover, Beau found his Strawberry Shortcake, a tad too dry. But from Beau's pretty dessert, to the Almond Cake, ordered at the table--all seemed a pastry feast for the eyes!! Overall: We Found This Classy Venue, A Welcome Change From The Familiar..Hearty Southern Fare, Fine Tuned With A Touch Of The Exotic!! So Happy To Say: We Loved It !!

We chose this restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday, expecting a nice dinner, and…read moreunfortunately the experience was incredibly disappointing. I wanted to order one of the bar stool specials and was told that I absolutely could not order it while sitting in the dining room. I understand restaurants have policies, but refusing to serve an item that you are actively serving elsewhere in the same restaurant simply because I was sitting in the dining room felt unnecessarily rigid--especially when we were there celebrating a special occasion. Rather than order something I didn't want, I ended up having mac and cheese as my entire meal. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience did nothing to make up for it. Our water was never cold, the carrots and potato salad were both disappointing, and the food took far too long to arrive. For a restaurant that presents itself as a nicer dining experience, I expected much better food, service, and hospitality. Instead, my wife's birthday dinner was memorable for all the wrong reasons. I left frustrated, disappointed, and feeling like we spent our money at the wrong place. We won't be returning.

This shop is located downtown, but there's another shop closer to the highway that has a drive-thru and parking lot. I have not been to that location. I came here twice, and I had a nitro cold brew with sugar free vanilla as well as a hot black sesame matcha with oat milk. The cold brew was smooth and strong- perfect for powering through a workday on a warm day. The black sesame matcha didn't taste "green" and stayed warm, a powerful punch to get through the afternoon. They also have unique non-coffee drinks; my coworker got an iced drink called "Huckleberry Ben" that seemed interesting. The prices are so low here. You can get two specialty coffee drinks for under $15, and that includes tax and tip. The baristas were nice, and the coffee shop is a fun place to hang out if you want to work or chill. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. We ordered the Bistro Burger; one with fries and one with the Bistro side salad. The burger was tender, juicy, and clearly the ground beef was mixed in the kitchen--so, there's attention to detail. Served with sautéed onion, raspberry preserves and pimento cheese with a delicious bun made for a really enjoyable experience. My fries were crisp on the outside and tender on the inside...perfectly fried. The salad was amazingly fresh with a variety of greens and the poppyseed vinaigrette was perfect along with fresh strawberries. Definitely A+ territory. Our small comments were that the onions would have played a more meaningful role if they were completely caramelized and the raspberry preserves was a bit sparse. The burger could have been elevated even further with a little stronger boost of the sweetness the preserves provide. But with that said, no complaints at all and only joy. If you're in Bowling Green, do yourself a favor and stop by here at least once.
