When I arrived, they did not have large cap wigs available to try on. They kept suggesting a topper which I had already explained I did not want. They cut tags out of wigs as another review said and are very sketchy when you ask what brand wigs they carry. They evade answering specific questions. They have "a book" to look through if you want to order something. I feel it is unwise to order from them as they will not disclose exactly what you are buying. I expected more service...measurements, explanations of different types of wig, different types of cap construction, and the pros and cons or even explaining what brands do or do not carry large cap sizes. They tried on several things which were all way too small...even the cap to hold my hair in was too small, gave me a headache and kept popping off my hair. I was told my hair was too slick...ummm... cause it's healthy and clean??? I don't have a lot but do take care of what I do have. I believe if you have zero knowledge of wigs and an average sized head, and you don't care to know what you are buying, this would be fine. If you are looking for education on different colors or brands or types of wigs available, this is not the best place. And if you need a large cap size, this is not the place to go.

The Rachel Welch wig I purchased from Barbara's Wigs was $580. The Rachel Welch wig purchased from Missouri Baptist Cancer Center was $180. Lake St. Louis Wigs & Cuts were equally as reasonable as Missouri Baptist! Plus, the shampoo & conditioner kit from Barbara's Wigs was $79! Same products elsewhere were either free or $7 for shampoo & conditioner! I felt like I was overcharged and an easy target because of my cancer diagnosis. I would recommend going elsewhere for wigs.

She took the time to hear my concerns and looked at some photos from 7 months ago when I had a lot of hair She was very kind and gentle with me. She explained the different types of wigs that she sells and the 3 different human hair types and where they are sourced from. Indian , Chinese/ Asian hair and European hair. She went over the pros and cons of the different types of hair for my needs I shouldn't say that there were any cons about any the hair except European Hair Is straight , Indian hair holds more curl and the Asian hair is much thicker. Barbara measured the size of my head and later that day emailed price quotes on the type of hairstyle, length and color that I am interested in. I am still deciding if I want to be able to curl the hair or just to go totally straight she can offer any color and style you can dream up. Once I get my bag I will add a picture. If possible

Since my teenage years, and through my stages of braid styles, I always purchased my braiding hair from Wig Imports. The owner, Ms. Jo, was always nice and helpful, and her prices were always reasonable. She carried only high quality hair that would last my micro-braids several months. She used to be located on the corner of Delmar & Skinker, in the Delmar Loop, but has since moved to this location in Overland. Fast forward over 20 years, and my DD is getting the same braids that I got at her age. I took her to Wig Imports and was happy to find the same awesome and kind Jo there to assist. She gave advice on the type of hair that would be best for the braids that DD wanted. She still has a large selection of hair in different lengths and colors. If you need a wig, she has an enormous selection of wigs and she'll make custom wigs too! I love Ms. Jo, and the St. Louis community is lucky to have her!
