My SO was so happy with how closely this wig looked to my previous cut, style and color, he took me back to get a second one even closer in color to my previous hue! Agnes did another amazing touch up trim on the bangs with a tiny bit of feathering close to the upper cheek line, just enough to be comfortable without all that hair in my face! Wow what a great experience! I took my mom here to find something nice for her to wear in the summer. The lady running the store was SOOOO helpful. She didn't just bring out the wigs we selected but also brought some that she thought would look great on my mom. And in fact, we ended up buying her recommendation!. Before leaving she showed my mom the best way to take care of the wig and some products to use on it to keep it looking nice. This woman went the extra mile. My mom was just visiting Houston and we were going to the airport. I wasn't familiar w/ this part of town and asked her for the best way to go to avoid traffic since we were running late. She wasn't sure but when she spotted the mailman outside she ran out there, dragged him in and he told us the best way to go to avoid the traffic. This place is great. A wide selection of wigs, and updated with hairstyles and hair color too (I was actually able to find an ombre wig!). Customer service here is totally unacceptable. As soon as I walked in, all eyes were on me. I asked about the rules and they stated that a $2 cap needed to purchased and there was a three wig try-on maximum. I started looking at the wigs and noticed that the price tags were on the back of each mannequin's head. When I saw a wig that I was interested in, I looked towards the back at the price tag as there were wigs that were $500+ and did not seem worth that price at all. Immediately, I was approached and told not to touch, just look. How am I to decide on three wigs to try when I could not even touch the mannequin? Needless to say, all should steer clear of this place. Again, horrible customer service and the few wigs that I was able to view were not worth the money. read more

They have a very large selection of hair also extensions for hair they're very helpful they allow you to try all the wigs that you would like. My mom is starting chemo soon and we wanted to go ahead and get her a wig she was comfortable with. We didn't know what to expect because none of us had ever shopped for one before but we were pleasantly surprised. The owner was friendly and very helpful. We quickly found a couple of wigs that my mom really liked and we also found a few head wraps as well. The owner explained to her how to care for her wigs and suggested a few other items to help her when caring for them. By the end of the visit we were all trying on wigs and having a great time. What could have been a very sad time, turned out to be a fun girls trip that we will all remember fondly. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking! read more

Let me start by saying that this is my first time to review a business on yelp. Usually I just view the reviews and go from there. However, my experience at the Wig World in Houston was so upsetting that it compelled me to share my story with others considering this wig store. I had just completed my chemo and was looking for some fresh summery turbans along with a nice shorter synthetic wig as an alternative to my human hair wig. I went into the store with my 70 year old mother and we were greeted by the woman behind the counter. She helped me look at some turbans and everything was fine. I found one that I was going to purchase - yeah! Than I started to look at wigs with my mom. The saleswoman told me that I needed to buy a headsock to try on the wigs. The one in the package was $1.99 or the one is the open box was $.99. I tried on wigs before and never had to buy the headsock (like a pantyhose thing) they usually just give you that for free to try on wigs but whatever - I wasn't going to argue. At the counter where you try on the wigs taped to the mirror was a homemade sign that read something like "try on only 3 wigs". To me this meant try on only three wigs at a time. That makes sense to me - try on three, put them away and than try on three more. Sort of like you can only bring in 8 items into the dressing room at a time. Well - I was quickly going to learn that try on only three wigs meant three wigs TOTAL. So she wants you to pay $.99 for the headsock and than only lets you try on 3 wigs???? At the time there were two other customers in the store and she was helping them with their wigs. My mom was helping me try on some wigs and I was just trying to find the right style. My mom had found a style she wanted to me to try and apparently we caught the eye of the saleswoman. She darted towards my mom and I and grabbed the wig out of my moms hand and yelled, "YOU HAVE ALREADY TRIED ON THREE WIGS!" She pointed to the sign and continued to yell at us for trying on more than three wigs. I was personally stunned and asked her if she was trying to sell wigs at the wig store. It than all of a sudden hit me - the emotions of being done with chemo and just trying to feel good about myself and getting lunged and yelled at by the saleswoman from Vietnam. I started crying - like ugly crying. The two other customers in the store came over to me and hugged me and told me that she was mean. They have bought their wigs from that store for years and the previous owner, this woman's sister, was very nice and would never have done that. Apparently the original owner has moved back to Vietnam and her sister is now in charge and they don't like the way she treats people either. Once I stopped crying I stood up to leave with my mother. The saleswoman didn't say she was sorry she just yelled, "You owe me $.99, you pay me $.99". I said that I would not pay her the $.99 because she yelled at me and I left the store. I am writing this review because I want to spare others from having the same experience I did. After I left the store I went to another locally owned wig store and had a great experience with a professional and well trained staff. I would never recommend Wig World to anyone and will make sure that I pass along this experience to the folks at MD Anderson. We deserve better!! You deserve better!! read more

It was my first time buying a wig ever, and while I am happy with my wig and the wonderful selection, the lady/owner was not very helpful with how the wig is supposed to be worn. (For that I could not be more disappointed) I will be seeking out a professional in the morning or Monday to have what few questions I have answered. I've never bought or worn a wig so I was clueless.. Her Customer ended up having to answer the few questions I could get answered like should all my hair be brushed back under the wig cap or can hair be left out from under..or how is the wig supposed to be put on correctly. How is it supposed to look, how do I know if it's on wrong, how far up is the band supposed to be,.almost every answer from her was How ever you like it, or it doesn't matter, or its not that complicated. I think for spending almost $100 on a single wig I should be able to get more than what ever answer gets you on your way the fastest after I've gotten your money. I mean seriously there could be a huge difference between wearing something how you want to wear it and how it's supposed to be worn..what good does it do to have a nice wig if anyone can look and tell it's obviously a wig because it's on wrong, crooked, too far up, or too far back.. read more

I am a cancer patient and was seeking a wig to wear for work and school. While the staff was helpful with trying on wigs, I kept questioning the wig of my choice as having missing hair in sections, and the state of the wig - rather ratted up. I asked if she had any other of this wig in that color, which she denied, and so I foolishly ended up with the sample model due to limited time available and a pressing need for a wig. She cut off the tag with all the information on it, and I thought she placed it in the box, but when I opened it at home, it was nowhere to be found. According to the box and the mannequin head sticker, I was getting a Noriko wig, but when I pulled it out of the box and looked at the tag in back, it said Estetica Designs. They are strict about clients not handling the wigs or trying them on themselves, so I had not seen this discrepancy. I also was not told about their no returns or exchanges policy that is printed on the receipt, which I unfortunately did not look at as I placed it in my purse on my way out the door and back to the cancer center for my next round of chemo. So I have a ratty wig with some significant breakage and sparse areas that I paid $184.01 for with tax (overpriced, I'm sure, since it is just a plain synthetic wig), and I basically just threw that money away. I tried to brush the rats out, but they are firmly in place, and the wig is unsuitable for wear. My advice - stay far away from this store. Such dishonesty does not merit future patronage. I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I already have enough on my plate dealing with cancer. I don't need people taking advantage of me on top of that. read more

I have some hair issues so I went to look for a wig to wear for the winter. I went to this business because this was not the first time I have patronized the store. I walked down the isles to find the maximum 3 choices that's allowed. When I finally found the wig I wanted to try on as the third wig. The sales person took the wig and told me to come back when I was ready to buy. I asked her if she was putting me out of the store and she says yes you been here 30 minutes and you touch all my wigs. I was so shocked because I didn't know I was on a time limit to make a choice, try on and buy and I only touch the wigs I was possibly interested in. What up with that? Why can't I touch a wig? What happen to customer service? This sales person didn't even acknowledge me walking in the store until I spoke and asked her how her day was. I didn't even get a chance to try on one wig and the sales person exhibit this unprofessional attitude as soon as another customer walked in the store because prior this this incident we were the only 2 people in the store. I will never again step inside this business or refer anyone to shop here as I have in the pass. read more
