Dr. Roberts is a highly knowledgeable healthcare professional who spends as much time on each of…read morehis patients as he deems is needed. In my visits, he takes time to review my test results with me, viewing my x-rays or MRIs and thoroughly checking my condition with a recommended course of treatment that I may need to get better. He explains things in the most layman of terms possible and always follows up with you by phone when new results are available. If needed, he will even schedule you for a visit as soon as possible! Other doctors never do this service to their patients... His staff are kind and friendly. They always take care of any paperwork necessary, and any billing issues you might have. They even help with moving your prescriptions to another location if you need it. And they will always call you to check on how you are, so they can report anything back to the doctor. They also call you if you need to be seen by Dr. Roberts. I love the staff simply because they are always accomodating of my needs. If you need to be seen by a rheumatologist, I highly recommend Dr. Roberts to be the first one on your list of doctors to see! He never disappoints!

Hello... This review…read moreis an "Updated" review from the time I last wrote a review for Dr. Robert's to today's new journal entry... I had a great team of medical providers for the majority of my time while I resided in Sacramento, California, with my pack of wild but tame, dogs and felines... AKA: My entire family at certain times of my lifetime thus far... I enjoyed working along with Dr. Roberts, to heal & improve my immune system. I reside in the Central Valley of California & locating quality medical practitioners has been a challenge unlike living in Sacramento where I encountered even more quality physicians. My plan is Anthem Blue Cross / Blue Shield "self-funded" health insurance plan; sans vision and dental, unfortunately. I am repeatedly told when I phone his office from where I now live, that he does not take the "EPO" portion of my Anthem pre-paid plan through Covered California. I also asked if they accepted "Medi-cal" health insurance & was told no (looks like I'm getting approved for the 1st time in my lifetime and that officially; will therapeutically unload a ton of stress, fear & anxiety off of my proverbial plate... I can understand this as I once worked with an awesome doctor (I was assigned) Dr. Malorca (& her husband Dan were amazing and their two little tykes, Melissa & Darryl; amazing family! Amazing! ) (I believe her name was spelled & she was an amazing Pediatrician & Filipino; very proud of her heritage; she was fantastic & so good with the kids and infants...They all were really... Yet, I get off track; sorry about that; the ol' brain is existing on sugar-fumes @this time... True story... As I was journaling... I've been phoning Dr. Roberts MD office annually (approximately) for the past 3-4 years where I ask again, if there's been a change to his willingness to accept my Covered California plan. Just called less than 1-week back, & the answer was no. Sorry for the repetition of information; I got swiftly side-tracked but have returned, my minds back on this journal entry... :) I've noticed when reviewing my EOB's (Explanation of Benefits) sent to me by mail (with my handicaps, I retain information often, not always, but often enough, that I do best, when I'm reconciling something, if I have it clearly in print. I wonder why Dr. Roberts isn't comfortable with my insurance. He who saved my LIFE, when I came down with a mean case of "CAT SCRATCH FEVER". I was so sick! Couldn't get enough sleep, nausea non-stop, achy and flu-like symptoms & my back and bones ached no matter what I took to find relief.......He acted immediately! My hands, wrists, and lower forearms were covered in long scratches, red welts, hot, itching; with tiny tiny blisters oozing in the wounds. My feral tiny rescued kittens were the accidental cause. It was a yearlong or more healing & recovery phase, I even had so much swelling in my right breast (doubled at least; in size) Biopsy done & a permanent metal marker was placed on/in the lymph node in question. What an ordeal it was... PS: Specialists like my Psychiatrist, Dr. Zainab Al-Dhaher are paid out @ 100% & her billing is over $300 regularly. I reconcile my EOB's so this is how I am always aware of the billing practices, to verify accuracy. I pay my bills mostly off of the EOB's. It's a great accuracy tool. Maybe this knowledge would better satisfy Dr. Robert's compensation; I could see if it would; he works diligently for his patients... I'm out of room here. There is more to the story but the character limit appears to have been sated. Sorry about that... :) ~Jana Leigh Thomas Sr. Yelper :)

I was referred to UCD Rheumatology after getting two positive ANA tests and a large group of symptoms. It took three months to get an "urgent" appointment. I took a male friend with me to be safe (UC Davis docs have a history of unsafe behavior I experienced). The doctor refused to address me. My friend told her five times that I was the patient (should have been obvious, I was on the exam table, she had a chart with a female name). She refused to address me or look me in the eyes. In less than five minutes she dismissed my symptoms as "nothing rheumatological." I continued to present with a positive ANA, unexplained lung masses, classic lupus rash, joint swelling, repeated protein and blood in urine tests, swollen feet and hands, severe fatigue, and 40 lbs weight loss in less than 6 weeks. I could not get a second consult as UCD Rheumatology considered the rheum consult "adequate." When I got in to see a competent rheumatologist (outside sacramento) I was diagnosed with lupus, schleroderma, and liver and lung damage from failure to treat systematic schleroderma. The competent doc has encouraged suing UC Davis for missed dx and patient endangerment. This org is dangerous to your health. Avoid at all costs.

We didn't know what was wrong her. She was perfectly healthy. Exercised daily, ate healthy , didn't drink or smoke. All of a sudden in January her hands and feet started to swell. Her Doctor miss diagnosed her for six months and gave her all sorts of pain medication. By July her immune system was shot. She had pneumonia, limes disease from someones dog who had been camping and 48 other diseases. She collapsed in my arms. My dad and I took her to Mercy General. Dr. Barger was the Rheumatologist doing rounds. When he saw my mother 5"3 and 100 pounds, frail and weak. He just shook his head. She was put on the morphine drip because she was in so much pain. Dr. Barger kept having tests run, determined to see what was wrong with her. After much medication and over 3 weeks in the hospital in the Cancer and Special Disease unit. She was released only to be rushed back by ambulance 6 hours later. She then spent another two weeks in the hospital. Dr. Barger came to see her like clock work every day with a human kind of compassion that most Doctors don't have. He never rushed out of the room. He acted as if she was in his primary care. He was relentless in finding out what was wrong with her. Every disease was treated. He diagnosed her with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, which at the time was unheard of. She changed primary Care Physicians just so that Dr. Barger could be her Rheumatologist. The primary care physician was a jerk, but she would see Dr. Barger immediately after seeing him, so she endured the primary care physician. She hated seeing the Primary Care Physician, but loved seeing Dr. Barger, She saw him for six years. My dad normally took her to see him. The main thing that my mother would say about him is "He Cares and it's genuine". She always felt better after seeing Dr. Barger. My dad even liked him. Unfortunately she had to get a new Primary Care Physician because the Primary care doctor who is not worth mentioning would have put her in the grave, but Dr. Michael Barger is a rare find and a one of a kind Doctor. If people mention or complain about him spending too much time with his patients. Please don't. He spends the time that is needed to make the patient better. He is a very good Doctor. I hope he does not change. My mom is healthy now and she and my dad still love Dr. Barger.

I have lupus and have gone through hell and back to get in remission. This was under the care of D. Goss. Dr. Goss closed her practice. I ended up with Dr. Vig. She took a couple of labs every 3 months and sent me a message saying all looks good each time. In the meantime I reached out for different concerns and she would say use a humidifier, etc for dryness. Kinda blow me off answer to me or refer me to primary or another specialist. In the meantime my symptoms were coming back slowly. But my labs looked good.... We all know that labs do not show the whole picture in autoimmune disease. I was told an intern would accompany Dr Vig today. The intern came in alone. I talked with the intern about my concerns of looking beyond the labs with the intent to talk to Dr. Vig also. (Otherwise I would not even have come to this appointment} I also told her I was seeing Dr. Goss again at her online EDS clinic for other medical issues. But was still going to see Dr. Vig. At no time was I ever rude or "Unprofessional" or inappropriate as Dr Vij said I was. (Fact is you are allowed to talk to anyone you want about your healthcare. Absolutely ANYONE!" } This whole thing was ridiculous and Dr. Vig is not telling the whole story but left "Her" side on my medical records. I am not allowed to respond to them there so I am here. If you are happy with getting your hand patted and all looks good by all means she is the Doc for you. But if you want to get to the bottom of things ask for a referral to Stanford or SFO. Or check out the EDS clinic online. Yes I did file a formal complaint. By the way we are the patients not the professionals. Stand up for yourselves. Also check out Dr Erin Nance, MD online she has a group called https://www.feelbetr.health All about how autoimmune and other diseases 90 percent of Dr.s misdiagnose. The gravestone is from her store. Made me bust up because that is exactly what Dr. Vig said to me many times.

The person who schedules is short with me every single time I call and honestly quite rude. I know this is a busy thriving practice, but she is the first point of contact and not a good look for customer service. Thankfully, appointments are, mostly, readily available and being seen within a day or so is possible. God forbid you go there and get referred out to specialty care though, because then you run into the referral specialist who does not answer the phone- EVER! And if you leave a voicemail, does not answer them with a return call. You MIGHT get a response through MyHillChart. Might! But if you do, be prepared to wait for that response and then have it be laced with cynicism. And if you call the office to speak to ANYONE to try to get some clarity not through typed words, good luck!! It isnt happening! Left a message with the advice nurse a week ago, still haven't received a call back. If you aren't happy with the doctor they have chosen for you (especially if sent to someone you specifically asked not to see), getting a referral rerouted becomes a battle not for the faint of heart. Since the phone seems to be broken for this employee there will miscommunication and strife trying to get answers and good chances your referral will have to be rerouted a few times to get to the person of your choice. It will be a lengthy process, even for an "Urgent" referral. All in all, while I am happy with the clinical staff and care they provide, the office staff more than overshadows every interaction making it difficult to do much of anything in a timely manner and without tearing your hair out.
