Doctor Jornlin is hands down the best doctor I've seen in my life. He is one of the few doctors I have ever met who treat their patients like people, not just "Room 4". I was recommended to him from my in-laws. I think Dr J has probably seen everyone in my husband's family at one time or another. And he remembers them, and actually asks about them and genuinely seems like he CARES. THAT is amazing. Plus, a male doctor who is supportive of breastfeeding - extended breastfeeding no less? AWESOME. My daughter's ped is indifferent about it, and never has anything to say. Dr J told me he thinks it's great, just not when she's 6. Haha. For a male doctor who can school me on plugged ducts, that's an accomplishment. It makes me feel like he really knows his stuff. And he offered to become my daughter's regular doctor, which made me happy. It wasn't in a "I need more patients, patients = money" way. I was crushed to learn that Dr. Jornlin is no longer with UCD (their loss). 2013 was a very rough year for me health wise and it was so very comforting knowing Dr. J was there for me and my wife. He responded to correspondences almost immediately and frequently personally by phone. His love for medicine was obvious and his sense of humor was off the charts. I'll never forget his closing line, "So how else may I torture you today." And those ties... oh my word. I'll deeply miss his care, his council and his friendship. Dr J was new when he was assigned to me as a patient at UCDMC. That was many, many moons ago! He became like a trusted family member and made each and every one of his patients feel like they were his #1 priority. He never forgot my family's names, my background, anything. The best part about each and every visit was receiving not a hand shake, but a hug hello and a hug goodbye. That and his awesome, festive tie collection!! I was crushed, to say the least, the day I called and they told me he was gone. I've had one appointment since then and it was awful. The new Doc doesn't want to take me on as her patient because of her lack of knowledge of some of my treatments. We never had a family physician until Dr.Jornlin came highly recommended. I had an undiagnosed health issue for 19 years prior to meeting with Dr.Jornlin. Within two visits he had figured it out! He is an incredible doctor. Unfortunately, this past visit I had with the doctor's office they informed me that Dr.Jornlin is out for an undisclosed amount of time. Since I was unable to say goodbye to Dr. Jornlin, I find his exemplary type of medical practice worth writing my first Yelp review. As others have mentioned, Dr. Jornlin was my physician for over ten years and not only helped me through a myriad of health issues, but with the compassion and humor that kept me going back even after I moved to further away in the county. When I heard he "suddenly" left, I was actually worried that something had happened to him. Though sad for us patients left behind that we no longer have him, I am glad to see he is working in a commendable practice. Dr. Jornlin has been caring for my family for several years now. I was so happy to have found him. I was very sad to hear he was no longer with UC Davis. He was the only reason I continued care with that institution. They are completely unorganized and lack the personal care that is needed to thrive. Dr. William Jornlin became my doctor last fall 2014 when he joined Chapa-De clinic in Auburn, CA and I thank God he did. I have been suffering for years with intestinal problems which had become severe "attacks" within the last 2 years. My Kaiser doctors told me it was IBS or "in my head" and one wanted to just put me on happy pills, which I refused. They tested my head, heart etc. Luckily, I lost Kaiser and then had no insurance for several years so I became a member of Chapa-De a low-cost clinic, then obtained Covered California. My horrible gut attacks: my stomach swelled and I was in awful pain for several hours to 2 days, then they would stop so I put off going to the clinic. When they became unbearable I saw my new doctor, Dr. Jornlin. He listened and said "that's gallbladder." He new immediately!!!! Of course, my mother had gallbladder problems and I was a prime candidate! Testing proved that I had a gallbladder full of stones. I was then able to find a surgeon which takes Covered California (Dr. Wm Statton) and when I ended up in the emergency room March 2015, in horrible pain and with infection, the tests Dr. J ordered were completed and we knew what was happening. I had an infected, dying gallbladder removed before it could burst. ALL BECAUSE OF THIS WONDERFUL DOCTOR. He knows what he is doing. Between Dr. Jornlin and surgeon Dr. Statton, I am alive. I have been a patient of Dr. J's since 2007, he is hands down the best doctor I have ever been to. It is hard to write a complete review because my immense gratitude for him is difficult to put into words. He is such a caring, knowledgeable and reliable individual, which makes him the perfect doctor. He is very concerned about his patient's health, and he makes sure to provide the best possible quality of care for each individual. Dr Jornlin was referred to me by a coworker, and I refuse to see another doctor. He is competent, knowledgeable, and genuinely concerned/caring. I am nearly 45 years old and I have never met a doctor quite like him, which is really sad, considering the fact that ALL doctors should be this good! Not sure why so many go into medicine otherwise. He responds to messages in a timely manner, squeezes you in when you need an appointment, and never rushes appointments (yet he manages to stay on schedule). I have been a patient of Dr. Jornlin's since 11/1999. I had/have never met a dr. that is this gifted in knowledge and bedside manner. He was the only dr. who took my neurological symptoms seriously; I got my MS diagnosis shortly after and no time was lost. He knew my whole family and remembered things that were happening in our lives and regularly asked about them. He never rushed me, he always listened to me and took extra time out if needed. My family and I are so saddened by his departure. We are so used to that high level of care that we are always disappointed in the care we receive whenever we visit our new dr. I have so many new medical problems and I just don't trust my new dr. I can't say enough excellent things about Dr. J. His new clinic, his new patients, are so lucky to have him; they have a real gem. I had always dreaded the day that he retires, so imagine our level of sadness when his resignation was announced. I was shocked to hear that Dr. Jornlin left ucd. He's been my doctor for the past 15 years throughout my cancer treatment. I'm actually devastated to put it mildly. I've been calling the office for the past two months, and the receptionist continued to tell me he was on leave. When I called yesterday, the person who answered the phone told me he resigned. I'm angry that I received no notice about this and suddenly he resigned after two months? The office has gone downhill rapidly over the past year. I'm not sure who is running the place, but they need an upgrade and fast! I spoke with Jessica who forwarded me to her Supervisor Bobby. Understandably so, I wanted some answers. Bobby proved to be why the office is failing. She was the most unprofessional " supervisor " I've ever encountered in my 65 years. That women should not be in customer service. Every time I call the office I wait on hold for over 15 minutes to get a person I can't understand answering the call with a heavy accent. A tip for those poor patients staying at that office, ask for Jordon or Pamela if you need anything completed correctly.. the rest of the young ladies either get the information wrong or don't put it in there at all. I'm so disappointed. Here's another thing to top it off, I needed my sleep medication refilled. I put a request in 4 days before I would run out. I had to call the office the day before I was out and they told me the doctor needed to see me before a refill. I've been on the medication for 2 years and had just saw Dr. J in March, also a doctor in June. After must frustration I agreed to make an appointment.. to my shock the girl ( rasa? ) said there were no appointments and I would have to go to urgent care!! I'm an hMO patient and you want me to go to urgent care for a refill!?!!! This place is a joke. If you want to have horrible care and no follow up what so ever, come to this clinic. It's sad that such a great medical school, has such horrible outside clinic. The only reason I satyed was for Dr. J and his coordinators Pamela and Jordon. My family friends and church members that use Dr j will all be switching to sutter medical group. Sorry ucd but you lost my business. read more
