I drove over to this Wienerschnitzel Restaurant for my dinner time today. I received an email from this location that said I will receive a FREE Corn Dog for my Birthday in this month in June 2022 but I have (7 days) to use this FREE Offer because it's going to expire on June 11, 2022. I also ordered one Cheeseburger with one medium size French Fries and one small size Watermelon Lemonade. For my dessert I ordered one small size Strawberry and Lemonade Float with Whipped Cream on top. This small size Strawberry and Lemonade Float looks like a large size cup. My total bill was $11.00. I paid James in cash for my order today. James gave me excellent customer service at this Wienerschnitzel location. It only had taken about 10 minutes to receive my order from James. This food was cooked very fast! I decided to eat outside at one of their picnic tables and connected chairs. It's very cold and really windy conditions today. I was writing my Weinerschnitzel Review on my Apple IPhone Xr today while I was eating my food order outside at their concrete picnic tables and their connected chair. It was also really noisy outside on Oceanside Boulevard today due to this location has extreme traffic congestion. I also was talking to Carol who is another customer, she was eating outside just like I was today at one of these picnic tables nearby me in the back of this Weinerschnitzel Fast Food Restaurant. Carol said she bought 2 Corn Dogs with mustard because she is also a Corn Dog lover just like I am. We had a really good conversation today and we talked for one and a half hours, while we were eating our food. I ate my Free Corn Dog first with these 2 mustard packets. This Corn Dog was very crispy on the outside and the hot dog was juicy on the inside.. I really enjoyed eating my Free Birthday Snack . Then I was eating this one Cheeseburger. This Cheeseburger was really good. These medium size French Fries were very crispy and delicious. Then I was drinking this one glass of Watermelon Lemonade. This beverage has a tart flavor that is lightly sweetened. It's very refreshing. For my dessert I still have enough room left, I took sips of the really delicious Strawberry Lemonade Float with the whipped cream on top. I am still drinking it as I write my review now and trying to finish it. This Strawberry Lemonade Float is very flavorful. It's the perfect dessert today. I saw about 7 customers today placing their orders with James this cashier at the front window. There was about 3 more employees working inside this location today. Two women and one younger guy. Both him and the employee I spoke to before him were rude and not helpful at all. I literally drive to another location and they took my expired coupon without hesitation and were way more friendly. 3 Sept 2024, I place a order in the drive through and made the MISTAKE by giving the mail attendant my Visa card to pay for my order. He ran my card and then I had to ask for my card back! Try the California Dog Several Months ago I wrote a review on Jay Bee's in Statesville. Back when Gourmet magazine was active, they were rated one of the top 5 in the US. My first clue that it was a s--- show was a male employee talking at carside to the second car in line at the drive through , and I quote, " I'll just stand here and talk to you so I don't have to work so much" as he hands her his phone to share his pictures on his phone ,as the line continues to get longer ‍. That is EXTREMELY dangerous as it can block someones view of the road especially if someone doesn't notice it right away. Shocked. Waited outside walk up window for five minutes. Guy walks up and cuts in front of me. They open the window and ask him for his order. The lady sees me and my son, sees my incredulous expression, and snaps "what's the problem?" Like, really snapped at me, reminded me of this girl in high school who would sneer at everyone for deigning to speak to her. I replied, "we have been standing here waiting and you have ignored us, this guy just cut the line." To be fair, the guy probably thought we were waiting for our order, but she knew we were there. You really can't go wrong with a hot dog and for the price the quality isn't that bad. It's never really packed here like McDonald's and because of that you get your food quick. I like how you can upgrade to an all beef dog and upgrade to a pretzel bun. They have new dogs like the Loaded Street, Ranch dog and a few more. The customer service is always good when I come here which I'm surprised because it's a fast food spot. I haven't tried the shakes yet but it's coming because the pictures look pretty good. Fast, super friendly, and no mistakes. You either love their chili or you hate it, I love it. And being combined with Tasty Freeze, Bonus! Customer service is appalling. When I inquired about why I was being charged individually for my items instead of the combo. In a snide tone I was told by the manger that she did it that way because it was easier. She said I wouldn't understand because I don't know the way the system works. I took out my phone to crunch the numbers on the menu and it didn't add up to what I was being charged. As I try to further explain to her she got even more inpatient with me further showing her lack in customer service skills. She said I can add it up all I want on my phone it won't change the price I was charged. I asked for a refund and she respond with okay are you done yet? To which I was not given one. Then the employee started giving me my food ask if I wanted ketchup and mustard I said yes please thank you. She only gave ketchup and walked away. She proceeded to go to her coworkers which they were all speaking in spanish derogatorily about me. Hardly and chili on my ordered items. Cheeseburger was made wrong. I never got my drink that were suppose to come with my combos. I did get the drinks that were in addition. Next time I will take my $91.40 and spend it at a more appropriate eatery. read more

I found this location when we took plates of Thanksgiving leftovers out into public (we'd been donated a huge dinner that year, and knowing what it's like to live on the streets, I couldn't stand the thought that we'd have more than enough while someone else went hungry). So we loaded up as many plates as I could put together, and drove out into Oceanside...up and down streets, and in places we heard from groups of people we encountered that there may be other groups of homeless people gathered. One of those places was this particular Weinersnitchel. We found a group gathered close to the building, and pulled up to ask if anyone was hungry and needed a freshly cooked meal. Several people said they did, and were apparently upset with the person operating the business that night, because it was a little warm for the time of year, and they were refused water by the worker, who had apparently also made disparaging comments toward them. I did not hear that firsthand, so I cannot attest to the accuracy, but my experience afterward made it seem plausible. I handed out food, as well as some pouches of Capri Sun drinks, which were all I had to offer; but I said I'd try to get them some water too. I walked up to the window and had to tap multiple times just to get the employee to look up from his handheld game and open the window. I asked if I could have some glasses of water if I made a small purchase. He said that water would be 10 cents each, and I asked if he would just sell me the water instead. He said I couldn't buy the water without purchase. Okay... I asked him if he knew there were homeless people outside that were clearly thirsty, and he looked out toward my car, saw the group, and muttered an obscenity. He told me that "those people" already make his job hard enough, and that "feeding the animals" only makes them come back for more. I was angry, because I know what it's like to be homeless, and it's precisely that mentality that furthers the negative stereotypes surrounding homelessness. He told me that if I didn't get my "f-ing" car out of his parking lot, he would call the police. I tried to keep my cool, and I asked if I could buy something so that it would be okay to stay long enough to make sure people had some food. He told me I wasn't welcome to buy anything, and I asked if he was the owner. He said no, but the owner shared his sentiments. I asked for his name, and he refused to give it to me: I made a mental note to come back and report it to management, or get the number to corporate. I walked back to the group, and told them we had to leave, and they should find someplace safe to go, because the man was very unpleasant. They said he regularly threw trash at them and yelled at them, which made me more than a little angry. I had two subsequent follow up visits: one where I took my youngest son in the middle of the day to get a hot dog and fries (also to get the information about the rude employee), and after waiting in a drive thru line for over 30 minutes, finally got to the front, where the 2 people on duty were busy having a conversation with a friend outside at the walk up window, and when we finally got our food (which was greasy, rubbery, and cold), I tried to ask for a manager's name, or any contact info for the owner, and neither staff member would give it to me. I remained neutral, thanked them, took our food (which my son refused to eat because it was "gross"), and went home. The third time I went, I bought food for a van full of hungry soccer players. The drive thru took less time to get through, but we were approached from the passenger side by someone asking if we wanted our windows cleaned, which I politely declined. The guy proceeded to call me a gross name, and attempted to open the passenger side door of my car, which was thankfully locked. He pounded on the window, spit on it, then turned and walked away. When we got to the window, I asked the staff if they could call someone...explaining the incident. They handed me my food and said they didn't have a phone. I pointed to the one I saw on the wall, and said, "that one doesn't work?" They said it didn't, and I asked them for the owner's name and number, so I could possibly call and have it fixed so they had a working phone. They said they didn't have that information. Apparently nobody manages the place, either. As far as the man at the window, they claimed that wasn't anything out of the ordinary, and we were probably lucky that he didn't get in. Okay...that was it for me. I paid (way too much money) for the meals I ordered for the teenagers in my van. They reported the food to be equally inedible. I tried to contact corporate, who claimed they had "no control over the activity of their franchises." I'm only sorry I continued to give them business in an effort to do the right thing and improve the quality of business in my community. read more

I guess, as a SoCal native since '65, Der Wienerschnitzel (yes, please note the "Der") is in my blood. Oh, there were years I strayed - chasing after those winking fast-food Jezebels that wanted me to "have it my way" - but in the end, I've come back to the Big DW. Seriously, Wienerschitzel serves great fast food that's made when you order it by folks who actually seem to like their customers, at a price that's at least as reasonable as Mickey D's (and maybe a little moreso). Where else can you go and get a Chili Dog, or a Kraut Dog swimming in mustard and sauerkraut, or a Polish Dog thick with cheese and onions? And their hamburgers are really good, too; both the sliders and the full-on burgers with produce. And I don't think you can get a chili-cheeseburger anywhere else aside from some froo-froo $12 restaurant burger. The staff here is really cool and will make your food any way you want. There's no double cheeseburger on the menu, but they'll gladly pile on an extra patty (or two) if you ask. No onions? No problem. Want dill pickles on your hot dog? Sure. Cheap to feed the kids, too - look for the family packs that are amazingly cheap. Like most DWs, there is no indoor seating - eat in your car, or sit at one of the outdoor tables. Every fast food drive through is practically the same, this location is no different! What is nice about this location is that its super easy to get to and its fast and convenient! The guy who was working the drive through this day I was there was fast and got the order right the first time and I didn't have to keep repeating over and over again what I wanted. I've gone here several times, but this is based just on a recent try of the fish & chips. Fish came in 2 long, very slender fillets (bigger than fish sticks) and while they were oily, tasted fresh and light. Tartar sauce looked like a mayo-mustard-relish mix and did okay with the fish, with a bit of tartness in it. Fries were hot and a bit soggy but good and we finished this up with a small vanilla cone from the Tastee Freez machine, which is always cold, creamy and just good tasting.
