Hidden gem in the overpopulated, undeserved community of Mountain House. This place gets a bad wrap for high prices and sometimes complaints about store clerk personalities BUT take into account: 1.This is the ONLY store of any kind within 10-15 minutes 2. Prices are fair-convenience costs 3. Selection is surprisingly good 4. Treat people with kindness and respect and you will get it in return 5. Yes those "paper cups" cost money- don't be an imbecile! Granted, I have purchased ice cream and milk that were either freezer burnt(1/2 gallon) and the milk didn't last to the due date, but all in all its right here by my house. Be very careful when shopping here. I bought 2 items a pack of cigarettes and a 6 pack case of beer. I didn't realize it at the time but after reviewing my bank transactions I was charged me about $50 for those 2 items. There is no way a 6 pack of beer and a pack of cigarettes would come out to $50. It feels like they are just guessing the price and entering it in. Safeway gas station is now open, take the extra 1 minute to drive there and avoid this place if you don't want some fake price. This isn't even the first time this has happened there. Especially watch out when the older guy is there handling the register. If you must shop there, pay attention to the price, they will try to cheat you if you don't pay attention. read more

Awesome!! This place is a throwback from the way small Communities use-to-be. This small town community market takes you back in time. I called 2 minutes prior to store closing and asked if they would wait for me!! The clerk quickly obliged and stayed open an extra 10 minutes. A-grade, top notch customer service. Purchased a carton of ice cream for $7 to find later that it had been melted and later refrozen.

This place has saved my skin on many occasions. It's not a place I do major shopping at, but it's a place I come to when my wife is cooking something and we're missing an ingredient, or we have company over and need soda, or ran out of milk or eggs and need a last second save. It's definitely my go-to spot for my daily energy drinks. Owner is super-cool and staff is always friendly. I'm so glad Mountain House has this market. I'd otherwise be forced to drive into Tracy for even the smallest items. Candy selection is not too shabby either ;-) read more

This places doesn't deserve a star, but for me to leave a review I had to leave at least one. Do not purchase any thing from this place. I got these iPhone style earbuds from the little carousel that was on the counter so I can talk while driving, little did I know is this place may possibly be reselling used earbuds. Upon inspection the first pair I bought did not look right at all, so I come back and try to exchange for another pair, but now the clerk is looking at me like I did something wrong. So he starts inspecting his product like I did something to them, then hands me another pair from the same carousel. Thinking nothing wrong with the exchange since he did grab it and hand it to me I take off,look at the new pair with the blue tape on the socket seems legit. I drive off and start breaking out the package and notice the seal on the back says I need to have my Bluetooth on for the earbuds to work, but wait why do they have that instruction on a wired headset. That doesn't sound right at all so I pulled them out of the case and notice the left earpiece has earwax lined across the seam of the the earbud, I mean "WTF" this is worse then the last one. I'm to far from that place to come back a third time. Don't purchase anything from this store. Pay the extra $5 and get a new pair at bestbuy, target, or Walmart. You're welcome! They pretty much have your typical convenience mart fare and some of those must have items because your sister hasn't gone to the REAL grocery store yet. This is kinda what my damage looked like... VERY convenient to have here since we have nothing else. If you need milk or something else quick, it's perfect.. just be prepared to PAY for the convenience too. It's very expensive. Cashier who claims to be the manager and owner of this store was rude to me for taking a paper cup to drink from after I bought a bottle of soda. Despite being conveniently located to the nearby Wickland housing community, this kind of pettiness over a cup isn't going to serve him well in the long run. Even with reasonable prices and a convenient location, his business will not thrive if he fails to understand how to have good customer service and treat customers well. read more

Bathroom is very disgusting, dirty and no paper towels. -1. $5 card minimum, at $4.92 they still asked me to purchase another item. -1. Prices are marked up - it's the only store in Mountain House. Considering Mountain House has no other convenience store, this place is well stocked with all my dire necessities (milk, wine, eggs, nachos). The staff here is super nice and always friendly. We always go in here (mostly my husband) to get snacks or things we forget to pick up in Tracy and don't want to drive out. Jatt and manny are always friendly to my daughter and especially my husband, he likes to joke around with the boys. Went in three mornings in a row to get my morning coffee for my commute, there was nothing but an empty pot all three times. The first two times, I waited so long for someone to come make it (the cashier was on his phone) that I eventually brewed it myself!!! It's obviously more of a convenience store than actual market, but has everything you would expect from a similar competitor . I wanted to update my review to say that Wicklund Market has taken a turn for the better since the new owners took over. The staff is much friendlier, we are always greeted and thanked, and they have even added more goodies to sell like bottles of Wine and such. Definitely a big improvement! read more
