This is a long overdue review. So far, the best service I ever had. I hired them first to install a…read morenew water heater in our home. The water heater was under warranty so I was just looking for someone to install it. Not only they installed the water heater, they also accompanied me to haul the water heater from Home Depot and installed it the same day. He also did stuff that the previous installer did not do like sealing some tubes, etc. They gave me the best price among all those who replied. The next time I hired them was because of the clogged kitchen sink. Unlike others, they did not stop until they resolved the issue to the point that they had to cancel their other appointments on that day. They had to dig and replace a very old sewer tube. They did this step by step. The best thing is that with all the efforts and time they did, they reasonably charged for their work. In all their dealings with me, they have always been professional and on time. These are really nice, honest, and helpful people. Just today, I recommended them to a friend.

I immediately telephoned their office numerous times and never received a response. More recently, I reinitiated my messaging via text and did not receive any responses after several weeks of messaging, until two weeks ago. A good existing customer like myself should not be ignored for as many times as I followed up. When we did connect after more than 10 messages I left, the company tried to blame me for leaving the hose connected, without him knowing whether that was the case. It was not the case. So, I don't recommend doing business with any company who ignores more than 10 reach outs and doesn't see the issue through closure.

They came out promptly, which was good, but their man didn't even care to look at my old faucet, and replaced it with a "multi-turn faucet", probably because it was the one he had in the truck. It's a real aggravation to turn on the water now, and the thought of Ellis leaves a sour taste in my mouth each time I have to turn the knob eight times instead of just a quarter-turn to get a decent flow of water.

I have used Albert Ellis three times this year for work on my 116 year old house in Moorestown…read more Each time, they responded as scheduled, performed the work quickly, and cleaned the work area thoroughly before leaving. They are a rarity among tradespeople these days, both in their reliability and in the quality of their work. Their charges are not unreasonable, and are never a surprise. They bill time by the hour, and always work quickly. This year, we hired Ellis to replace the drain in our 80 - 90 year old basement utility sink, which they did to a high standard. For the first time, we now actually have a clean-out in the line, which is very important. Also, we had them replace our 20 year old hot water heater, which, while still working, was doing so on "borrowed time." The new unit was quickly installed even though I had them switch the gas exhaust from an old, oversized chimney to a direct through-the-wall exhaust. They acquired the permit from the Township, and the inspector told me that the job was perfect in terms of code compliance. We are fortunate to have had Albert Ellis here in Moorestown for more than a century, and even more fortunate that the current generation continues to pride itself on its competence, integrity, and professionalism.

Trusted professionals all the way!…read more We had a leak in our downstairs bathroom which was clearly caused by the master shower directly upstairs. We initially called in another plumber, and he and his boss felt very strongly that a hairline crack in the pan of our master shower was causing the issue. They came back with an estimate of $7,000 to redo the entire master shower (and vanity). What? We called Bommer Plumbing for a second opinion and boy, are we glad we did. Jim arrived right on time and he worked with my husband and me to troubleshoot the leak. He spent close to 90 minutes at our place. Long story short, the culprit of the leak was worn caulk along the top of of the master shower basin, NOT a hairline crack. We all cheered when the source was found! We saved thousands of dollars with this (accurate) diagnosis. And he even pointed out a potential issue with the electric source for our downstairs bathroom fan. Jim was knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and hilarious. We were cracking jokes like old buds. He was awesome! And office staff is super friendly. They keep you apprised of your plumber's whereabouts on the day of your appointment. They even send a picture of your plumber so you know what they look like ahead of time. This was a great touch and much appreciated, as you can never be too careful these days. I cannot recommend this company enough.
