Cuuuuuuuuutest little shop in the heights! If you are in the area and looking for a gift, card,…read moresome fun home decor, a candle, even soap, stop in here and I am sure you will find it. I have been in a few times and always with my pup (they are dog friendly!) and I love browsing around. It is one of those shops where it is hard NOT to buy something. One thing I love picking up are there reusable paper towel/dish rag things. They are like $7/$8, have super cute little designs on them and take the place of like a full roll of paper towels. When they start getting a little gross, I just toss it out and pick one up on my next trip to the area. Since I always stop in while with my dog, I of course had to give in and buy him the trio of NYC themed toys. Sidenote: I was guilted into it by my pup because he literally took them off the shelf. But for $10 he now is the proud owner of a coffee cup, big apple and yellow cab plushie set. The ladies that work there are so sweet and always have a treat ready for Frankie. They are right on Palisades, near ModCup and right across from Riverview Park and are a few steps down if you have trouble finding them! Take a look next time you are in the neighborhood!

I absolutely love this shop and they deserve all the praise…read more Whenever I'm in the mood to "treat myself" you can find me here buying a new pair of earrings, or a ring, or browsing through their cute gadgets and collection of home decor, stationary, greeting cards, candles, etc. They have a little bit of everything in here! I love it dearly. I usually buy all of my gifts from here and have gifted their candles to lots of people who have given me raving reviews. I enjoy their candles as well. Their scents are soft and subtle and perfect for people who are sensitive to strong scents. They make their candles in house, btw, and sometimes they offer candle making workshops too. Lucky Honeybee is an adorable shop and I appreciate them being in the heights! :)

I visited ReWax and UnWine in Jersey City, NJ [2 Division St] on Sunday, 03/15/26, around 3 PM…read more The entire experience was extremely fun and lovely. The hosts for the candle-making class were Atahya and Jennifer. They both did a fantastic job of facilitating detailed instructions on how to craft candles to our liking. They also welcomed bringing wine bottles to sip while making candles. First, the group and I were able to get up and smell different candle scents. My top four favorites were the Espresso, Strawberry, Cupcake, and Fig. I proceeded to grab one of the medium-sized golden brown jars from the wall and then sat back down. Atahya directed us to stir the scents in two separate little beakers. Then, we poured the mixtures into a big candle jar and a little candle jar, along with the hot candle wax liquid. Finally, we stirred everything for about 2-3 minutes to let it set. Jennifer was able to come over and finish the candle product for us by cleaning it, solidifying it, etc. In the interim, while the candles were being set, Atahya led engaging, interactive activities. We did a candle-themed trivia and sang songs, karaoke style. Both opportunities made the time go by so much faster. We all had a great time! Overall, the experience was totally epic. I highly recommend coming to ReWax and UnWine to craft good-smelling candles while having a blast!

And while the space is small, it certainly is pretty! Great for group birthdays or to celebrate a special occasion. There was super fun karaoke while we waited for our candles to set, which really brought the group together. I believe this is also a black woman owned business so let's go out and support the JC community. I really was so wowed (in a sense) with this experience and have been telling everyone about it. Great vibe here. Love that it's in Jersey City, which is a fun area with lots of places to grab dinner or drinks after, if you want. OH and it's walking distance from the Grove St Path station, so don't think you have to struggle for parking... and there are so many cool eateries to stop in before or after.

Damn it! I just found another reason to be obsessed with NYC…read more.. Helena Christensen, Danish supermodel that I may or may not share an ex with, opened a store in New York. For now she's just hanging aroung there to "show how you can wear things differently." The model-turned-photographer calls her store "Butik" - an old-fashioned Danish word for specialty store. Seling there clothes and footwear, accessories and jewelry, candles, soaps, perfumes and chocolate she has personally collected from all over world with her supermodel passport. The store is adorable, filled with knick-knacks, pieces from the Christensen & Sigersen clothing line and antiques- all with that sweet Danish charm. Since it was before Christmas, it was also overflowing with hand made Christmas ornaments! I found a pair of lovely candles and an incredibly Danish man (whom I am convinced is Sigerson) informed me that they were hand made by an old lady in Copenhagen. I bought them as a gift for his mother and she loved them!
