Awesome Neapolitan style pizza! A step up from your run-of-the-mill pizza. Great service.

It included stuffed manicotti shells, with another pasta dish with meat and a Greek salad. Everything was prepared beautifully. The Greek salad was delicious with their homemade Greek dressing. The atmosphere was absolutely great. The only downside was our server who wasn't very friendly or attentive to little things at most servers are. Having gone in the past and gotten an exceptional service, it might have been a bad night for her, so we'll take exception to that. Anyway, I will be returning because I really enjoy their food, the largeness of the restaurant, and the waterfall ambience.

The service is always friendly and inviting and you really feel at home there. Truly my favorite restaurant!

DA-YUMMMM! I'm no local but consider a move to Asheville, and Haywood Common is the kind of place…read morethat helps make the decision for me. A friend has brought me here a couple times - once to dine in on the patio with her dog, and once for takeout - and it's been just delightful both times. The dining in experience was a Monday lunch and very quiet while the takeout was a Sunday evening and much busier. Despite the takeout situation, I opted for southern fried chicken most recently and was really delighted with the meal. The collards were well seasoned, the cornbread was huge, the slaw was slaw (though nothing to write home about, it's hard to make slaw that's worth writing about), and the chicken was well breaded, not overcooked, and still kinda crunchy despite its steam bath. I might have had the southern fried chicken plate the first time too, come to think of it... it's just impossible to find well done Southern food in the west, so I can't pass it up! The patio has nice seating options including a couple coveted tables in the shade. They are all pretty huge picnic tables so you may end up sharing if it's busy, but that's kinda the vibe here. There are dog water bowls and ice water for the pups in the summertime. Regarding vibes, it's right up my alley with servers rocking hairy armpits and tattoos all over the place. If you're a little more physically conservative you may be a bit put off, but I'd encourage you to try it out anyway.

I haven't found an enormous amount of Middle Eastern cuisine in Asheville, but this place brought…read morethe vibe. It's small and unassuming in a strip mall in West Asheville. My takeout was ready on time. While the falafel roll still might have been better fresh, I wanted something that I could plausibly eat several hours later on a mountain without a ton of restaurants nearby, and that choice worked out well. Many falafel rolls come with add-ons that I don't like, but the pickled turnip offering here was both flavorful and colorful. I also got their fries, drizzles with tahini and parsley, which is a good way to eat fries. A case of baked goods and a small market section of canned items were also available. There was certainly space to eat inside or out for someone without my travel schedule. It's also notable that in addition to the usual falafel, they offer ample vegan options as befits the Asheville community, including a house seitan and some other vegetable and fake meat options. I was happy with what I got, but the choice is always appreciated.

I have had falafel in various places all over the country and in Europe and this is in my top two! The Falafel is excellent, the portions are large and everything I have tried at Gypsy Queen has been delicious. I've brought several friends to the restaurant and they have all loved it. Gypsy Queen is one of my go-to places whenever I'm in Asheville. I live in Barnardsville and sometimes I go down there just to have some falafel. Try it for yourself!
