Unfortunately, the experience left me disappointed, and I ultimately decided not to book an appointment. From the beginning, the atmosphere felt uncomfortable. The consultant I spoke with seemed to have an attitude toward both me and my partner, and throughout the consultation we felt like we were receiving dirty looks. I understand that everyone can have an off day, but the overall interaction made us feel unwelcome. I was also surprised by the recommendation to color my hair first and cut nearly half of it off afterward. I specifically asked whether the cut could be done beforehand to avoid using and paying for dye on hair that was going to be removed, but I was told no. Given how much hair I wanted taken off, this didn't make sense to me and ultimately resulted in a price that I felt was unnecessarily high. I was excited to try a new stylist, so it was disappointing to leave feeling uncomfortable and like I wasn't being listened to. I completely understand that salons have their own processes and pricing, but I also believe clients should feel comfortable asking questions and discussing options without feeling judged. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I won't be returning or recommending this salon.

It wasn't the most relaxing massage but he worked very hard, and i felt so much better. I have continued the massages every few months, and still don't have pain. What's so great about her? Aside from her fabulous no-nonsense but loving attitude, served up in a thick Boston accent, the moderate prices are almost unheard of for a hair salon of this quality. Most importantly, though, Unique is a magician with hair. With one look at your hair, whether thin, thick, short, long, frizzy, or limp, Unique sees the perfect cut and, with a few well-placed snips, has you out of there looking perfect in no time at all. Every time. That's something I've never been able to say for another hair salon, and I'll keep saving my haircuts for my visits to Maine until I can.

I've paid much more for inferior color jobs that had to be re-done and damaged my hair. I believe her when she says she fixes a lot of people's hair who come there after it's been ruined by another salon. Without a doubt!
