She made an appointment with me as soon as possible and brought her scale. My baby was very fussy and Christina helped me to understand that sometimes it's not soothing techniques and maybe it's an underlying issue that's going on that was causing the fussiness. Furthermore she helped me understand how lactation works and has helped me gained more control over my milk supply. I got a lot of my sanity back once I was able to have a more balanced lifestyle while being able to feed my baby. Christina is so sweet. She really cares about moms and is there to talk to in case we just need someone to talk to. She is always open and willing to have a direct conversation without the fluff. She showed up to our house after eye surgery and could barely see and walk around our house at night time. I have camera proof that she fell asleep with our baby in her arms as well. After that, she refused to give back our deposit and took all our money. She claimed it didn't apply because the deposit was applied to the substitute. What a scam of a lady. Putting babies in danger and taking new parents money. Please do not use Kathleen for night nanny/doula services.

Kathleen was very responsive when I called initially and continued to check on us when we were in the hospital. I thought that was a good sign - but we couldn't have been more disappointed with the outcome and fired her after two nights. The first night she showed up she made fun of the way I swaddled sarcastically (yes, I'm sorry I don't know how to swaddle I just got my baby home from the hospital where nurses were doing it BECAUSE HE ALMOST DIED) and isn't it your job to teach me how to do those things? We should have sent her home then and there after that tone deaf sarcasm. We were desperate though. Even given the situation, Kathleen was far more concerned about how she would sleep comfortably and even had me looking for her glasses for her in the middle of the night because she couldn't find them. Wtf??? I've just been through the worst experience of my life and now I am caretaking you???? The second morning after she left the baby's diaper was falling off, the place was a mess including her crackers under the couch, even though we didn't have anyone else lined up we had to let her go. I was going to refrain on writing a review as she did send me an apology note and mentioned she was too old for the night jobs anymore and would be transitioning into education only (yes, 100%, should not be in charge of nighttime infant care) but for some reason I decided to look her up on here and I see she is or course taking those jobs still. I feel the need to note my experience and forewarn anyone else considering hiring her that she has the bedside manner of a screeching Tasmanian devil and to be frank my baby would probably be dead if we had hired her before the event. I'm shaking writing this because it is just that upsetting . Oh , and after finding out I was a hairdresser, on night two she was ASKING ME WHEN I COULD DO HER HAIR . ????????????????????????? Excuse me I just had major surgery, my baby almost died, I'm clearly not well and taking maternity leave as long as I can, and you are really asking me that? I also had a musical healing mantra playing in the room for my baby and she said "she wanted to blow it up". I think I've painted the picture for you- I would recommend running far away from this one. The lack of professionalism is enough, but she's also quite possibly a smoker-she smelled like febreze over cigarettes- which is a HUGE Nono around babies. This is all extremely dangerous and I really don't want anyone else to have the experience that we did.

Linda was able to come out asap and she very much helped me! We realized he did better on a nipple shield and have been using one the last two weeks. He's been getting stronger and able to breast feed no problem. During our first session, she was able to confirm that my insurance would cover a postpartum Doula. So I get 11 sessions through Kaiser, which has been wonderful! So Linda comes to my house once or twice a week to help me in my recovery and breast-feeding journey. It has been really nice to have the support and the help. She's really been great! We will be working on getting him off the nipple sheilds, hopefully in the next few weeks. But having the help at home has really been great as well as the lactation support. I would definitely recommend calling her and seeing if you were insurance will cover visits from her. One appointment at Mahmee fixed everything. We saw Jennifer, who is very focused on the success of both baby AND mom. I was told "we don't breastfeed at any cost" and didn't feel shame about any decisions we made which was a huge help. I also love being able to use the app to ask follow up questions. We went in person to their offices but I believe they also do house visits which would be very convenient if you don't live close.

The experience with a lactation consultant in person was amazing, she was hands-on and knowledgeable. They have scales, wipes, changing tables...everything you'd need for a successful breastfeeding session. The other plus is their online services. So once you leave your session, you have access to a consultant for a month, where you can ask as many questions as you need and have consistent support. Another great feature, is they have information on all things post partum and ways to build knowledge around lactation and feeding.

After several phone calls and in-person interview's we decided to go with Laura. and she was AMAZING!!! She was very calm and extremely caring towards my wife and newborn. When I brought it up to the cashier, he said it was because they have it in store their inventory but not at the store? Huh?? After doing more digging I saw there was a "Terms and conditions" asterisk in fine print you have to click on to find out this information. All I saw was the green check mark that says "In stock and ready for pick up in 4 hours." Any other place I have ever been to- this would mean it would be in stock at the store. When I brought up, calmly, that this was confusing and they should fix it because I drove two hours to get to the store. The cashier said nothing. Not a "Aw geez, I'm sorry. I can understand your frustration and why that's confusing." I'm a reasonable person. I've worked in customer service all my life. The demeanor of the cashier alone has put me off from ever visiting this store again or recommending it. We went to Uppababy a few blocks down and they were SOOO kind that it completely made my day. All I needed was some kindness. To the owners of the Pump Station- the people using your website are most likely VERY tired moms. I personally am getting 3-4 hours of sleep a day. Tired moms need clear signage if something is in stock or not. Time is precious in this season of life. We also need KINDNESS. My body is broken and recovering from giving birth. I am exhausted!
